Pine needles! Just in case you don't know much about these year long trees there are a ton of healing properties to them!
Healing properties: The needles can prevent lice and fleas in a pillow, and in a tea can prevent scurvy. the oil of the leaves can heal cuts, sores, scabs, lice, and even excessive perspiration. The leaves also can treat rheumatism, arthritis, gout, muscular aches and pains and it can stimulate circulation. pine oil helps treat bronchitis, asthma, catarrh, coughs, laryngitis, colds and flu and eases breathlessness and sinusitis. it is considered a general kidney cleanser and the oil is effective for prostate problems, urinary infections and cystitis when diluted in specific amounts. pine oil helps with nerve exhaustion, neuralgia and mental fatigue.
burning_eyes Avoid in allergic skin conditions. Avoid in pregnancy. Avoid with history of prostate cancer. Do not use it on sensitive or damaged skin! burning_eyes
Magical properties: Burning the oil or needles removes spaces of negativity. It is used in "counter-magic rituals", repelling evil energy and returning it to the source. This helps with travel across water. Finally, pine can be used in healing and money spells.
Just thought some people might be interested in a common resource to those in the north and the cold. 3nodding

Oh i have some fox glove to, i found out after i got it that the leaves contain and ingredient that's in heart medication,

I was googling it and found that too biggrin
I also found out that comfrey is, apparently, a carcinogenic!

I love Comfrey, I'm growing some right now.
- You can drink it in teas to heal stumach ulsars, wunds and other stumach and intestanal discomforts.
- I use it for my arthritis & psoriasis, in pills and lotions; because it can sooth ackes & pains, inflamation, and skin irritations.
- Also because its a self healing plant if your cut and you need a bandage sibstute all you have to do is take a leaf crush it up a little by chuwing it a little bit or smashing it in your hand and put it on the cut. It will help the blood coagulate and quicken healing. (this is not how ever a substute for a tericut in a large cut, but if you have no other chose it could be used to slow the bleeding untell you find an alturnative)
Thes are just the uses I can remember off the top of my head I know there are more though.

Ya know we should totally have a thread in the library for this, and people can add things here and there when they find something interesting

@KageKitsuneB : I agree, that sounds like a great idea.
Also sence you guys are interested in this kind of stuf, some of you might like to look into: Scott Hunningham's 'Encyclopedia of Magical Herbs'. It's a great book I have the expanded & revised edition. It has all most all the imfoe on a plant you could possibly need & detaled b&w pictures; the only thing you might need to resarch is the medical uses and which parts of the herb are the best to use. I do recomend that if your really into herbs and would like to use them in magical workings & rituals, that you get a copy for your self.

Hello everyone,
far as herbs, wildly we have creosote, useful as an antiseptic and rainwork.
You can make an insence out of it for a hunters musk, the apache used to use it because it would make human scent hidden to thier prey.
It's associated with the rain because the creosote's oils tag onto evaporating water and comes down with the rain making a beautiul smell.

Quote:
BODHI
(Ficus religiosa)
Folk Names: Bo-Tree, Peepul Tree, Pipul, Sacred Tree.
Gender: Masculine
Planet: Jupiter
Eliment: Air
Deities: Buddha, Vishnu
Powers: Fertility, Protection, Wisdom, Meditation
Ritual Uses: The plant is sacred to Vishnu who, like Buddha, was said to have been born beneath it. In the East, sacred fires are fed with its wood. Since Buddha also sat beneath this tree in meditation for six years, it is sacred to Him, and the heart-shaped leaves still tremble remembering the divine vibrations.
Magical Uses: If you feel evil near, simply circla this tree several times and the evil shall flee in terror.
Barren women walk naked beneath a bodhi tree to become fertilee.
Use the leaves in meditation incenses and all mixtures designed to give wisdom.

This is quoted from Scott Cunningham's 'Encyclpedia of Maical Herbs'. I though it might be interesting to share it with you.
I've looked in every co-op and pagan shop near where I live and the internet in search of this. It would probably be a tad expeensive, but I'd just love to have and be able to use this wonderful herb.

Mint I found that if I steep the leaves and add a tinge of vanilla it helps with sore throat and nasal issues.

Red Clover was one I had never heard of before I started working at an Herb Shop, but I had seen it everywhere around my old elementary school and near the wetlands areas of where I live.

It has many different medicinal properties. There is one that does not seem to be mentioned anywhere I look. The owner of the herb shop has a special Allergy/Sinus blend using red clover. I have noticed that adding in more red clover helps my own allergy and sinus problems. The more red clover, the clearer my sinuses and less allergy sensitivity.

Here is a site with more information on Red Clover.

I'll have to look for this up at the herb shop. I think we might have that there. If we do, I'll let you know and give you the price on it.
