(( Post music)) The counter attack somewhat surprised Joseph in the fact that it happened so soon. He and his opponent had talked s**t to bid time to charge something. The Goji worshipper allowed his foe to counter his movements, going with the movement to lessen the impact. When the landed they where face to face, then a flash of light and one of the most intense pains he had ever felt.
It was all most like his entire body was on fire. His aura claws shattered back into intangible aura, and he almost blacked out. One thing ran through his mind, a single voice. “You are granted with my essence and yet you cannot win? Humans are pitiful after all. But yet you hold on, why?” Joseph’s eyes snapped open as the fury of his god swelled within him and allowed the use of a lesser version of his fabled atomic blast. Joe’s opponent would most likely not have the time to dodge as the blue fiery blast enveloped his face, probably causing first degree burns, possibly even blinding him.
As the attack ended, Joseph said, “Because I have people I have to beat before I ever fall to someone like him.”
Pushing his opponent off of him the Goji worshiper slowly got to his feet, the pain slowing his movements, and slowly headed for the edge of the arena, believing that his foe was incapable of continuing the fight. Yet in the dark corners of his mind Joe wasn’t sure if this was over.

. . .And the teachings went out the window.
Rage crystalized in Reyen, rage that his foe could still fight, could still live, rage that his face was being burned, rage that she might not like him with ******** extra crispy skin. Instinct threatened to take full control, the onrush of pain seeming to mess with all of the senses. But Rey reined it in, barely, thanks to the calmness of Mana. His eyes were blinded, despite the fastest close possible, they were heartily disabled for the time being. As was his nose, a similar story, that thankfully stopped most of the smell of burnt flesh. He had tapped more Mana than he had in a very long time, threatening to destroy him. His entire body burned with rage, as if the blast had consumed all of him. This was not a time of thought, but rather loosely controlled instinct, and, in this case, rage. The classic instincts that people think about are fight or flight. Both kicked in, and Rey reacted accordingly. He was on top of his enemy, his right hand somewhere inside of what once was his stomach, his left on Joseph's still pinned arms. He gripped onto these arms with a desperation that was characteristic of those in life or death moments. That was good, control was good. Having no vision was not so good, but he could still hear, and, despite the complaints of his face, he could still feel. His right hand pulled back, this was go time, and he sent a surge of Will into his right gauntlet. Spawning from it was a blade, in this case only a foot long due to lack of focus. Mana and Will were woven together, emerging from a hidden "slot" on the back of the glove. The result was a very thin, very sharp blade. He was hunched over slightly now, still lacking vision, still in immense pain. His main point of reference was his hand on Joseph's arms. Without a second thought, he rammed the blade into what he assumed was Joseph's right shoulder. It was a guess, but it was all he had. Blindness: 1/1 Partial Blindness: 0/3 Mana: 65/160 [ For clarity, Rey half sat up, keeping his left hand in place, then stabbed at what he thought was Joseph's right shoulder. He is blind, now, and will have burning/tearing for some more turns. ]

(( post emotional music)) Joseph was in pain like no other. You would think almost dying multiple times would teach you about pain. Point being he was no happy camper and the blade in his shoulder didn’t help. “GRAAAAAHHHHHH”
The additional pain sent him over the top. His mind blanked and then focused on one simple idea. Make the other person unable to inflict anymore pain. Golden motes of light quickly swirled in the back of Joe’s throat concentrating into an orb of aura before being blasted into his opponent’s face*. This happened twice more. Then as fast as his pain inhibited relaxed would allow him, he would attempt to roll over, forcing his opponent onto his side and allowing him to get up. [*note this is the attack Aura Blast as listed in my profile]

Reyen opened his eyes.
Sunlight streamed in first, followed by the vague, ever-sharpening profile of his opponent, and the attacks coming from him. Pain registered next, as his tear-ducts went into high gear, further blurring his vision. He saw the blasts, though. With barely a thought, Mana flared and flowed to his head, strengthening it to the blows to come. It didn't help his dizzyness much, but the Mana had lowered the strength from roughly the same as punches* to something manageable. And by manageable, I mean painful. This seemed to strengthen his resolve, and he pulled back the blade, and arced it through his opponents already wounded stomach, moving it diagonally, careful to avoid slashing his own left arm. Partial Blindness: 1/3 Mana: 60/160 [ *Clarified OOC ]

Out in the stands, a man sat amidst the crowd of blood-craving spectators with what felt like an aura of heat emanating from him. It didn't take a second glance to figure out the man was a fighter, yet his garb was so unusual. Still, few dared bring it up. Glaring harshly at one particular fighter, Joseph, this man's gaze tightened. " Yes."

A grin spread across the thief's face as he landed, safely, four feet away. "So you've been holding back on me, eh?" His face hurt, speaking, but the thrill of the fight was upon him, and nothing would stop him. His whole body seemed to move fluidly; a dagger appeared in his right hand and was thrown. The dagger's flight path was straight, aimed directly for Joseph with the focus of an arrow. It twisted along it's axis as it flew, instead of flipping. This was a very stable knife in flight, and thusly flew very fast. A second dagger was released in a similar fashion from his left hand before the stance changed. It was all very fluid, very practiced. The left hand extended out of the sleeve, revealing the silver white disk set into the black gauntlet. The right gauntlet, which bore no suck disk, was extended around the chin line of the thief. The left arm was first followed by the body of the practitioner, knees slightly bent, feet pointed inward, and then followed by the right arm. He flipped out the palm of his right hand, and made a beckoning motion, universally recognized as "BRING IT." Then the blade extended to it's full length of three feet, the blade a triangle coming out of a slot in the gauntlet. "Show me what you've got." Partial Blindness: 2/3 Mana: 60/160

Joseph wasn’t dumb; there was no way his opponent could aim so precise so soon after being blasted in the face with fire. Joe would move out of the way, but the pain from his wound stopping his reflexes for a few seconds allowing the blades to cut his upper arms.
Taking a deep breath of air he re-entered his combat stance. This time his hazel eyes started to turn a feint orange. Small static charges sparked along his claws. Joe’s facial expression was one of pain, rage, and seriousness.

And still another watched Joseph's every move with the hunger of a predator, who feasted on fear.

...
Alright, now this was just overkill.

[ Oh god why. WTF. Apparently hitting the bold button on Gaia copies all my text and pastes it again. Occasionally. ]
Reyen slowly circled, keeping his stance facing his foe. As he moved, he drew a stiletto from his belt into his left hand, holding it in the same reverse grip. Eventually he would reach his sword, which he would pick up with as much speed and dexterity as possible. Not once would he use Mana, unless confronted by Joseph. His slow patrolling eyes would catch site of the numerous odd figures in the crowd, moving, and so on, but there would be very little abnormal about them in a crowd like the one watching over his fight. His eyes were slowly starting to clear up, but they still hurt like hell, as did the rest of his face. Mana: 60/160 Partial Blindness: 3/3

Joseph would follow his opponent in his circle, his eyes turning a brilliant orange, as heat waves started to shimmer around the Goji worshiper. He wanted to keeps his eyes on his opponent as he waited for the right time to show off his god’s power.
