new wip.. took out the dragon, it didn't really fit right, was throwing the thing off balance <,<;; still have to correct the hand on the right as i dont like how it looks, going to be adding more details to her chestplate
debating using the crescent behind her head and making it part of a stylized peacock feather >.>; i dunno yet.

Madjealous of your artskills Jitsu! heart I love the way you draw women, they always look so beautifully healthy. :3 I have a (lazy, just a photo, haha!) WIP! :0 Lines by Kimaya, colours by yours truly. Do not like the cape colouring, it needs work, the blending is truely horendous. XD I like Blakely's hair, I want to pull it. >D

Woops I missed these posts!! It didnt look like new posts were made! /feels bad!
Jitsu - Wow, I envy your inking skills, waaaay too much work and so perfect /gonk. I think she is turning out lovely, as for the side, yes I would balance it out with something. I think the dragon was cool, but maybe it felt off balance because he touched the edges on one side?
Whatever you add I would try to keep it floating. I might go with something coming from the lower half (like her hand) and moving upward to keep the top from feeling heavy. But perhaps something coming from the top could end up having more detail below to balance it out.
I like the details you have on the one shoulder, is that what you are adding? i think its a nice touch without being too busy. How is this coming along now?
Carty - Waaahooo. Blakely and Lav, I had so much fun drawing this hee. It was at work, and I cant do digital there so I couldnt work on anything for Worldspanners or my art owed...
Anyway, I already saw this, but wanted to post, and the final version you should scan it proper though, and post it! And I think the blending turned out very nice, missay. I love it <3 TY for coloring it. You better learn to say nice things about your art or else.
Makes me wish for color pencils... hum... /broke sigh. Plus I would have no idea what to buy... I mean, I'm sure the brand is obvious with the million of threads in the AD, but what colors would work, I just don't know... until I tried them.

StarlitUniverse – Yours on the first page are really nice! I love the 2nd one.
Croon – I think she (your first entry) turned out cute! I think I’m in love with her ears…
Kimaya – I’m not a chibi expert myself – but I think what you have going is still really cute – which I’d say is the major point of chibis – cuteness. Color wise I think Jitsumi has the right idea – jewel tones. What might help, since you said you’re not use to doing the bright colors, is find an art piece online - from Deviant or Epiloque – that is using bright colors like what you want – then you can use it as a reference to remind you the intensity of the colors you want to go for.
Cartagia – The couple drawing turned out nicely! It makes me want to go back to my colored pencils…

Oh! And Jitsumi - I didn't overlook your pieces! But I know we've chatted about them in the other thread - and you know I'm all over the art nouveau stylization you throw into your pieces! xd

Here' some ATC/ACEO - whatever you want to call them - cards I'm working on. Just recently got into doing these card things, but I really like the idea of creating them and then trading with other artists, or selling them on my website. Drawn in pencil, then inked with India Ink and a Quill Dip Pen A Fairy: I actually want to do a painting in this format, longer though, so I think this will be a mini test piece. A Mermaid: I don't do enough mermaids. Lulu: I don't know why, but I felt like drawing Lulu from FFX - so I did. ^^ I haven't made a final decision as to what medium I will use to color them... I may do one with markers and colored pencil, and the other two in watercolor... or I may just do a combo of all those mediums depending on what I am trying to do...

Thank you GG. :3 I prefer when I colour other people's pics but one thing I have learnt from it is that I am not good at doing the lines by hand. XD Kimaya's original sketch was much better!
And I love your style. *_* The expression on the fairy is really fantastic, it's almost a pout but a bit more subtle than that. XD

Thank you. smile I've started coloring the mermaid in watercolor and I'm quite happy with it as of now!
What don't you like about doing the lines by hand? Are the lines shaky and not to your liking?

Ooh, will you post more pics when you're done with the colouring? :3
It's more that...when it's not my sketch, I find it harder to catch the correct lines to keep everything looking right. On this it was the faces that caused me issues and I still am not happy with them, but aside from doing it all again there's not much I can do about it now. XD The more obvious lines, like those on the clothes, were fine and I'm happy with that. :3
Maybe I just need a much, much thinner pen. XD

Yes I will! In fact here is the mermaid, in watercoloring process: I'm still pondering what color to make her tail and the fish... any suggestions? Ahhh I see. With more practice I'm sure you'll learn where to find the correct lines in the future. And perhaps finding a thinner pen - if the pen you are using now just doesn't feel right. What sort of pen do you use?

@ GG - ahaha i saw the line and was going to comment on how they were all gorgeous but i especially loved the mermaid.. and then i scroll down and you have a more recent picture of the beautiful mermaid! <3 YAY! hummm i think the mermaids tail would be gorgeous a silvery blue.. maybe with the more obvious blue tint as shading? and the fishy... pink! like salmon... only im not actually sure salmon are pink >.>; i love brightly coloured stuff, but this totally has a more subdued almost pastelsy look.
@ Carty & kim - yay pretty joint work together! i really really like the cloak, the shading looks lovely and lovely rippling folds of cloth are always hard to colour! KUDOS!
@ kim - yeah the dragon that was in it before just seemd so.. completely off balance no matter how much i liked it. all of his (muchas) seem like aside from the main subject of the drawing, his background was always really really symmetrical, and as it was going the BG behind her was evened out on the character, but the dragon was kinda this add on side growth.
I havent actually worked on it too much more, i did a bit more inking on the hair and the circly thing behind her head, but havent gone back to messing with the small details on her armour. and yeah her chestplate on the sides was going to have either peacock feathers like the pauldrons or this general dragony design i draw on bloody everything.. um its on her cuff but its kinda hard to see O.o;;
i'll work on her more after i get my friends birthday present finished.. and er.. finish up a few more commissions.

GG - I'm sure I'll work it out with practise. :3 As for pen, it's a specific artist's lining pen but I can't remember the brand off hand...
Jitsu - Thanks. :3 I tried!
