Farellen stared, *The creature almost seems smart* he thought, staring afteer it as it vanished into the darkness. He flinched a little at the voice that boomed out of the night, "oh, erm, yessir" he said, standing up straight and looking around for where the voice had come from. He grabbed the shovel and decided to make a start shifting the muck, *the faster i get this done, the afster i get out of this stink* he thought, coughing a little at the stench.

Relys moves into sight by the wagon. He leans casually against the corner and watches Farellen shoveling for a moment. "So, mind if I ask why you got assigned to do this? It's not like the Weyr to assign someone, much less a kid, to help with the caravan." He grins, "and you don't seem like someone who'd ask to work with whers."
Relysk comes out of the dark carrying the other barrel. He puts it down near the first all the while being careful to stay out of the muck if Farellen happens to miss. Nudging it into position where it'd be easy to shift barrels without much loss of pitching.

Farellen grunted as he worked, barely listening to Relys, after a few more shovelfuls though he answered in between grunts of exertion. "it''s my punishment Sir, a ....misunderstanding between me, a girl and her ... boyfriend" heaving soiled ...bedding into the first barrel, he watched the Wher bring another barrel and it seemed to skirt his area of aim of the shovel. "not so dumb really are you" he mumbled mostly to himself, forgetting to keep the words limited to his head.

"Ah, those do seem to happen don't they? Well wont be doing that again will you?" Relys chuckles softly at boyhood follies. "Care to talk about it, or you good?"
Relys laughs softly. "Relysk isn't no fool when..... shits flying." He gives the boy a grin, showing he took no offense to the comment. "Actually I'd rate his intelligence near a dragon. Now remember he's a blue so does have his limitations. I figure its cause they speak with images, not words like you and me, that they're considered not as smart as a dragon."
Relysk watches Farellen and gives a hum as if agreeing. With whom exactly is unclear.

Farellen shook his head at Relys' first comment "no i don't want to discuss it" he said, a little grumpily, it still stung being punished for something that was purely a mistake, he didnt need reminders for a Wherhandler.
He visibly blanched when he realised that the Wherhandler had heard his comment about the Wher not being so dumb. *s**t* he thought, trying to come up with an amswer "erm.. i didn't mean... er...aha....*cough* ... shards" he fumbled out, turning his back and getting stuck into the work to hide his embarrassment. it wasn't long before he'd filled both barrels, and the wagon was aplmost empty of filth, excet for Farellen, he was filthy, and sweaty. *i'm burning these as soon as possible* he thought looking down at his Wherdung stained clothing.

Relys holds back a chuckle, not wanting Farellen to take it the wrong way. If the lad didn't want to talk about it that was fine with him. Either he'd learned his lesson, whatever it might have been, or he'd find someone to talk to. It wasn't his place to ensure the boy learned, but he was grateful for the help.
"It's alright Farellen. I took no offense to it. You did a good job, come on down." He gestures for Relysk to move the barrels to the side once they were full. "We'll get Relysk to move them and I'll spread new bedding for him. Go get yourself clean and head to bed. Tomorrow night will be easier I promise. You can leave the shove proped up there by the wagon. Thanks for your help."

Farellen was mor relieved to have finsihed than he let on "yes Wherhandler sir, i'll be back tomorrow" he said with a nod *maybe i'll just wash these and find new ones for chores, and keep these for Wherwork, i can burn it all after i get out of working with it* he thought, propping the shovel where he was told, heading towards the baths and washing area to clean his clothes.
