Maddie nodded and went back to her spot, making herself comfortable where she was. The more relaxed she was, the more reasonable it would be that the bird would show up. She would be less patient the longer it took but for now she was happy to relax.
"Keep your eyes open, it's quick," she said.

He settled down near her, knowing that being right next to her probably wouldn't be the brightest idea. She might get snappy at him again, and though he didn't really deserve it, he still didn't like it. He suppressed a sigh, not wanting her to know just how upset he was. He was going to have to get over this at some point. He just wished he knew how.
And so he waited, watching her out of the corner of his eye as she relaxed a bit. Maybe she was better off romping around on her own.

It didn't matter how upset Sado was, unless he was trying to yell at her, she would remain completely oblivious to it. She was watching the pile of flowers intently, not worried about Sado being around now, he was behaving well enough. She didn't really seem like she had anything else to say, either.
