I feel like I can face the day... ...and I can forgive. ♦ ◄ALIHI► ♦ ————————————
In Alihi's eyes, the battle at Altiplos was a failure. The citizens were safe, yes, as she was the one who helped them get back to the capital, but the main objective of the mission was shot in the face and left to cry. She was forced to mark it down in her mental books as a loss and continue to plow forward, regardless of her desire to relax and take a break. People were depending on her, after all; she didn't want to figure out what the possible consequences of her failing would be. The tactician's worst-case scenarios were indeed the worst case.
With Abel close by, the tactician sat down at the table quietly, thinking to herself while waiting for more people to arrive. Her fingertips tapped against her leg anxiously, not wanting to do so on the surface of the table, where the movements would be audible and annoying. Otherwise, she was still, her eyes focused on her knees or the table.
Once the conference started, Alihi's thoughts quieted down to complete silence. What was said was definitely news to her. The involvement of the head priestess and the Fire Emblem triggered memories of Elibe to pop into her head; it reminded her of Ninian and Nils, and their involvement in the war she helped command. Using a person to get to a goal was something that didn't really surprise her. But how could the Fire Emblem be connected to it? In Elibe, it was just part of Bern's crowning ceremony. . . . It couldn't be something like that. The tapping on her leg resumed, a soft and subtle movement. Then again, it's a different land. It could have a completely different meaning to the people here. But how would they know about it if they aren't from here?
"Alihi, we need your tactical plan of how to defeat our enemy." "The advice of a renowned tactician would be well accepted." ". . . Miss Alihi."
All eyes were suddenly on her as they all wanted her advice. Pushing aside her concerns about the Fire Emblem for now, for she had a feeling that discussion would lead absolutely nowhere, she returned to the matter at hand; assisting Estarcia and ensuring their safety, as well as the safety of their priestess. "So, we have a kidnapped priestess and an army quite possibly heading our way. The thing is, we don't know where they are at this moment. They could be anywhere in this country, preparing to attack. Or they could be on their way right at this moment. But, we can conclude that they're after the Fire Emblem. It's like Cornelius said; somehow, someway, they know that they need the priestess to access the Fire Emblem. Otherwise, why would they take her?" She leaned forward slightly, her elbows resting on the table and her hands folded in front of herself. ". . . I don't see what we could do besides wait for them to come to us. I mean, they need to get here eventually, right? And it's our best option at this point. We'll have to make sure that those who can't fight or heal are safe, though, which might become a problem." She paused, rotating her shoulders. "Tired" would be quite the understatement; Alihi really just wanted to get this crisis dealt with. She missed her family, and she missed the peace she had in Eyris.
Of course, there wasn't anything she could do about that at the given moment. This was the price she had to pay in order to continue being a tactician. "We need to prepare the city itself for this battle. How much do we need to do in order to have that happen?"
———————————————— And I'm not ashamed to be... ...the person that I am today.

As long as I live. . . . I shall protect the ones I love. ~Caterina~
------ Slowly but surely everyone was gathering in the meeting room. Cornelius called for tea (a most welcome thing for the Falcon Knight, as sitting down had not been a good idea; though her feet sighed in relief and she was glad to sit on something that was not a pegasus, her body demanded sleep after staying up all night long, and especially after the long flight) as well as a healer for Cyric. Rina watched as the healer did her job. She fought to hold her teacup with a steady hand, trying to hide her sudden panic at the knowledge that Cyric still had an arrowhead embedded in his shoulder and he'd ridden from the battlefield to the capital without having it treated.
Idiot! she thought. Idiot, idiot, idiot. You should have at least bandaged it once you were in a safe enough place to do so! She winced hearing the knight hissing as the healer ripped the offending object free. With a glow of a mend staff, the wound was healed, though not even the staff could take awake her worry for Cyric.
Cornelius provided a slight distraction in his speech. Hearing her failure repeated, Rina lowered her head, staring at the teacup before her. But the general did not dwell on this fact, fortunately. Instead, he launched into a tale of the Fire Emblem, how it came to be in Estarcia, and the Head Priestesses. The Falcon Knight listened with genuine interest, shifting her gaze to Cornelius.
Of course she knew about the Fire Emblem; that was one of the many legends shoved down her throat at the orphanage. Irony of ironies, she'd promised herself that she would never have anything to do with the Holy Order ever again once she ran away, and where had she ended up but as the guardian of the High Priestess, as well as one of the higher ranked Pegasus Knights in the Holy Order. But now to learn that the enemy was probably after it, and in her failure she'd practically handed them the key to using it? Rina hung her head in shame, her hands shaking. If she somehow survived this war, she would resign from her position, even if it meant returning her sword and becoming a foot soldier, or even leaving the king's service altogether, she would do it.
Cornelius and some of the Learanians began to speak, throwing out ideas, hashing out plans, but Rina remained silent. It was not her place to speak here unless asked to; outside of her rank as Priestess Guardian and Falcon Knight of the Holy Order of Estarcia, she held no rank, no prestige, a fact the other army recruits and would-be knights taunted her mercilessly for, which only led her to push herself harder to prove that any orphan child could be just as good as, or better even, than some noble’s brat. It was not her place to speak out of turn in front of these foreigners, or especially Sir Cyric and General Cornelius, who far outranked her.
Yet more proof she didn't deserve him.
No, she told herself firmly, I decided long ago that rank doesn't matter. Everyone is still a person and they have the right to do what they wish with their lives, so long as they do not break the king's law. And yet she knew that rank still mattered, still dictated what people could do and say, who they could and could not marry.
What am I thinking? I should've gotten that healer to fix this injury of mine. She reached a hand up to touch the back of her head. Sure enough, it was sore and painful to touch. To her surprise, when she withdrew her hand and looked at her fingers, she found bits of dried blood.
. . . Definitely a harder hit than I thought. Such a stupid, stupid mistake.
She tried to stop herself from thinking, but of course that only made the thoughts multiply. She looked around at each person as they spoke, trying to concentrate on what they were saying, trying to piece everything together to see where she would fit, if she would be needed. That was, if she could be of any more use to anyone, after her failure.
Stop it, Rina. Just--stop it. Berating yourself isn't going to do any good. It certainly won't get the priestess back. Do your duty to her and pay attention to these people so that you can be of help to them.
She clenched her hands tighter, trying to stop the shaking and concentrate. Cyric was saying something, something about not understanding? And the enemy attacking again, and--
Ah. Yes.
Rina supposed that she would never be able to forget this failure, even after she left.
She stopped herself from jumping out of her skin at a slight pressure on her hand, but it was only Cyric, placing his hand on hers. Had he seen her shaking? She smiled in thanks to him, and then took a deep breath to steady herself. How was it that he seemed to know exactly what to do to calm her down, to let her know that everything was okay?
Gods above, I don't deserve him. I'm really going to miss him once I'm gone. Ignoring the way her heart had suddenly clenched, she looked around the table and those seated around it.
Everyone seemed to be looking to one Learanian girl called Alihi as their leader. Rina focused her attention on the tactician as she spoke.
She's right, Rina realized, thinking as she listened, it would be safer to hold down the fort here. If our troops can ring the city and keep everyone safe inside it, we may have a chance. It would be suicide to ride out to meet them. Let them fight us on our terms. But what can I do to help? she wondered. Wait--what about my troops? Is it possible for them to get here before the enemy army does? If I send . . . Annalie and Cassie, was it? If I send them back to the temple to free everyone . . . But no, they would be tired and worn. I can't ask them to come so far only to fight to the death this time. Lives really would be lost then. But . . . they will be lost anyway if we don't do something.
Lost in thoughts she would never voice unless asked to, Rina almost missed Alihi's question. For an answer, she looked to Cornelius, who had remained in Archesis all this time. ------ My Liegexxxxxx xxxxxxMy LadyMy Lord. . . .

The general paused for a moment after Alihi had finished. Suddenly, he turned to the door "Guard, come in here." The soldier standing by the door outside came in instantly, when he heard himself called. "Prepare the ballista and the catapults. Get all archers and mages on the walls, and fortify all gates, but only once we have confirmed that there are no more citizens and friendly troops on their way here." Cornelius looked at the wyvern commander for a moment. "We can probably use Learania's fliers for that." He turned back to the soldier, before giving the woman a chance to reply. He was on a roll, and could not stop to confirm the little things. "Also, we must move all injured people that can be moved to either the castle or the head temple. They will be safest, there. Go now." The soldier nodded then hastily departed.
Cornelius looked over to the pegasus commander. "Caterina, I know you had troops at the Priestess' manor, but it is too risky to go after them. I need you to go to the Head Temple and take charge of the main pegasus army of the Holy Order. And don't worry... we will get the Priestess back." The general turned to Cyric. "It will be up to you to lead the troops in battle, Cyric. I can coordinate from the castle gate and relay news as needed. Even if one enemy soldier manages to slip passed our armies, they will not get passed me and reach our king."
A sigh followed the general's last words. He turned to the rest of the group to explain. "And speaking of his Highness, I believe that it would be best if he was left in the dark about this impending attack. If it somehow reached him, then I have no doubts that he would order us to stand down and have our enemy walk in. That is something we cannot afford to have happen." Cornelius shut his eyes and shook his head, then looked back to Alihi and the others. "Is there anything else?"

xxxxx"If you're worried about surviving, xxxxxxxyou can worry about it after you're dead!" "The wyvern riders of Bern sit atop the heap of all other forces on the continent!" xxxxx "You will see our power soon!"
Well, wasn't this all find and dandy. Apparently they were losing all around to the point where victory of the entire war had almost been snatched right out of Vaida's hands. The very thought of losing a war should be laughable, it shouldn't be a grim reality. Something had to be done and by listening to the conversation, Vaida was in complete agreement with Alihi. She didn't like just having to wait, but it was their best chance. She couldn't ignore rationality in the face of glory.
And to pull it back a little, Vaida did blink at the mention of a Fire Emblem in Estarcia. She glanced over to Isadora to see if she was going to react, but seeing as she didn't, Vaida remained quiet as well. From hearsay, it seemed every world had a type of 'Fire Emblem', and it wasn't like the title was trademarked. ....Shut up.
When the Estarcian general turned to her to see if it was okay to use some of her wyvern squad to scout out and look for stragglers, Vaida looked up and opened her mouth to speak. However, she was not given the chance to reply. Vaida raised an eyebrow at his cockiness. She was going to say that it was perfectly fine. In fact, Vaida had the same idea pop into her head when she heard the general first speak about fortifying the gates. But she figured she would have to just ignore the lack of her approval, for now. His state of mind was understandable, really. If somebody had kidnapped Zephiel and demanded Bern hand over their Fire Emblem, Vaida would have ended up yelling at Murdock, telling him what he should be doing. But once he finished and asked if there was anything else, Vaida raised her hand, letting people know that she was about to speak. Essentially, she was telling people that they had better shut their mouths.
"Yeah. First off, I'll have some wyvern riders fly around like you need. Second, your precious Highness sounds like a real-!" Vaida paused and looked over at Isadora. "A real..." Vaida narrowed her eyes as it were painful to say. "...cautious... ....individual...." The wyvern lord looked back at Isadora for a split second and glared, knowing that the paladin probably thought she was going to forget her place. "But yeah, there is one more thing I think you're all forgetting. ...Has anybody bothered to send notice to the Watch, in the abandoned fortress?"

The paladin bit her lower lip as she listened to Cornelius' reply about the citizens' safety. Every road to every country was blocked. And in addition, the General was right, they had no idea when their enemy would strike next. She knew fairly well that Archesis was their next and final target. But where they would strike was beyond her doubt.
Trying to put her concerns of the people's welfare, Isadora listened to Alihi's tactic. It seemed that everyone had agreed of preparing themselves to battle within the city. And with no idea of where their enemy would attack, it would seem that they had no choice but to play defense. However, defense could become the strong offense. So maybe this battle would be their only hope of turning the tides against their enemy. The paladin hoped that they had enough men and resources to build up a strong defense.
The Dame Knight watched as Cornelius summoned the soldier and ordered out the plan, followed of giving concerns to Caterina and Cyric. She let out a small frown when she heard about keeping their king in the dark. Although she admitted that that was a slap in the face for the king, she had to agree with them. After all, the last time the paladin pleaded help, the king had refused to aid. If the king wanted his country to be back at its glorious peace, then they had to keep this plan hidden. However, she knew quite well that this plan wouldn't stay hidden once the battle began. And even if the king would try to stop the battle, it would be too late once it took Archesis as its battleground.
Before the paladin was about to reply Cornelius' question, she noticed Vaida raising her hand. Was there something the Wyvern Lord wished to speak? She hoped that it wasn't something that would interrupt the preparation.
Isadora arched her brow when she saw Vaida looking back at her. She could see the struggle in Vaida's face as the Guard Captain tried to find an appropriate word about their king. Once Vaida finished choosing her words carefully, the Dame Knight received a glare from her.
Although Isadora knew that Vaida wanted to say something... bold about the king, she was quite pleased that the Wyvern Lord decided not to. After all, it would be rude to the Estarcians if she let her speak her mind. However, the Dame Knight thought Vaida knew her manners well after serving to Zephiel. Maybe Zephiel and Vaida had never met before.
Isadora frowned as she listened to Vaida's question. Now that she brought it up, she hadn't seen anyone back from the fortress. Could it be that they were captured? Or were they hidden so well from the enemy? Whatever the situation was, she hoped that the Watch was alright, especially Renault.
"No, we haven't." Isadora replied. "Cornelius and I were so busied tending the citizens that we haven't had time to send a notice or heard anything from the Watch. In fact, I'm not even sure if they are under attacked or not. Let us hope that they are hidden well from the enemy's attack. But just to be sure, let's send the messenger out. In the meantime, we need to get prepared as possible."

Jin eventually rode into Archesis and plowed his way to the palace, praying the place didn't go up in plague what with the city being packed with tired and/or wounded. He wasn't normally a praying man, but today was an exception.
He eventually got inside... castle checkpoints, lotsa questions, blah blah blah. He was kinda tired by now from all the moving around, but at least it was almost over.
And... fortuitous timing, they were talking about the Watch just as he arrived. Jin cleared his throat.
"Actually, that messenger won't be necessary," Jin said. "The fort was discovered and taken in a surprise assault from the enemy. The prisoners and priestess are to be offered in exchange for the Fire Emblem.
I do not THINK they will kill the prisoners..." Jin added, a hint of worry in his voice, "...but the idea has come up among their commanders. Three of them are joined up in Restia, whereas the others are all at the fort. They will be approaching the capital soon."

...Oh. The healing team at the abandoned fort. Right. How could they have forgotten them? It was horrible. There honestly was really no reason to send a messenger to them, but even if there had been, a messenger would not have been sent. In the situation they found themselves in now, that group's chance of being in danger had grown exponentially. Isadora was right, they would need to send out a messenger to them immediately, telling them to pull out.
However, before one could be called, a stranger suddenly came through the door without warning. Cornelius jumped to his feet, surprised at how undetected this person was. "Who are you?! Wait, no... you mentioned the fort? Blast, we were too slow... or rather, our foes are faster than we realize." Cornelius leaned over, pressing his hands on the table. "And this exchange... what does it mean? Do they not realize that they need the priestess to use the Fire Emblem, or are they trying to trick us into a situation where we let down our guard?" The general growled. "We cannot say that they will not harm the Priestess, either. We will continue our defense preparation, but... I'm afraid we have no choice but to be a part of this exchange."
There was a pause in the room; a deathly silence filled with shock. Finally, Cornelius spoke up. "So... who shall be the ones to meet with them?"

This was not good. This was not good at all. Just when they thought of trying to help their only safe location, it fell into the enemy's hand. What worse was that they demanded an exchange.
The paladin frowned as she listened to Cornelius, letting out his frustrations of the situation they were in. She had to admit. It was a bit of a surprised that they would exchange the Fire Emblem for the Watch and the Priestess' life. Maybe they hadn't know about the use of Fire Emblem. Then again, it was still unknown to what strategy they were using.
When she heard the General asked of who should meet the enemy, the paladin gave a bit of a thought and looked at Cyric and Caterina. Maybe either one of them should go. But unfortunately, the Dame Knight was unsure which commanders of the enemies would they be meeting. In fact, she was even unsure if the leader would come to visit.
After giving some thoughts, the paladin spoke. "I agreed with you about keeping the defense preparations up. There's no telling when the enemy may strike. As for the exchange, I believe you should be the one to meet with them. After all, they would want someone from a higher position to represent the king and the country. Someone who is close to the king. Someone who knows what is good for the country and its people. Someone who they might trust with."
She turned her attention to Cornelius. There was concern in her eyes as she continued to speak. "If you need some support on this exchange, I can come along with you."

I've been lost in loneliness, of these nights deeper than darkness I want someone to notice now... Because I want to get out of here -Cyric- Fortifying the defenses around this capital was one thing. But did they have enough units was another problem Cyric could not figure out at the moment. At most, a majority of the people here were hurt and the ones that are and were capable of fighting were mostly Learanian. Some of Estarcia but that would be about a quarter of Cyric's squadrons.
That wasn't enough.
Cornelius issued an order to send Caterina to the main temple. It took everything Cyric had not to oppose that order. He didn't want the Falcon Knight to return to the battlefield! At least not this one, it was way too dangerous!
The bodyguard then turned to him. It was no surprise he was in charge of the army once more. But the only problem Cyric had was the lack of troops that were still capable of battle. He was most definlently not going to bring anybody that were to slow them down. "Understood, leave the front lines to me. Just make sure our defense force doesn't fall before this is over." Of course, this was going to be kept secret from the King. If the subject was even confronted it would most likely end in a way neither party members would appreciate.
They would have to face punishment later, that they cannot escape from.
A messenger from the healing fort appeared. It seemed they were a little slow in acting this time. Curses! Had they not any advantages here? The exchange? Priestess? Something was wrong here. Did they not know they needed the priestess in order to use the Fire Emblem? Or was this a trap to gain both? Cyric pondered the situation just a little further. The enemy was not dumb....but they are hell weren't fully informed.
Cornelius then brought up the question on who would be the one to confront them. The captain stood silent for a moment then lifted his head. "I will" Perhaps this time...he can make things right. Somehow Cyric would have to convince Cornelius to try to go alone..or at the most..go with a few people. He had his chance to correct things but thanks to a certain thunder crazy mage that accompanied Alihi...well that just destroyed everything. However, given the circumstances, going alone would be suicide as well. Who knows how merciful these forces were.
"I'll meet with them. Is that all right with you, Cornelius?" ___________
I don't want a fight. So I can't say anything...
I have dreams and ideals...
But my feelings just keep taking over...

As long as I live. . . . I shall protect the ones I love. ~Caterina~
------ This was the time she looked forward to, the time when talk ended and action was taken. General Cornelius was quick to take Alihi's suggestions and formulate a plan, immediately placing it into action with quick orders to a guard and to those into he conference room. Orders were placed to fortify the city, securing it. It was, after all, the last line of defense Estarcia had, and they would defend it to the last man.
"Caterina, I know you had troops at the Priestess' manor, but it is too risky to go after them. I need you to go to the Head Temple and take charge of the main pegasus army of the Holy Order."
Truth be told, Rina had nearly forgotten about the bulk of the Holy Order stationed at the Head Temple in Archesis; only a faction had gone with her to the manor with the Head Priestess. With the main army here, Rina was free to let the others rest, even if they were held captive; they would soon be free, as soon as this enemy was defeated. "And don't worry... we will get the Priestess back." Caterina nodded in acknowledgment of this order, and for Cornelius's assurances. it was an honor to be chosen to lead the entire Holy Order of Pegasus Knights, as young as she was, and as of low birth. Rightly so, she was honored and pleased, and determined to do her absolute best. As soon as they were dismissed, she would set off for he temple to muster the knights in defense of the Temple and the Fire Emblem.
Despite her lack of sleep, Rina was now determined not to fail again. She would get the Head Priestess back safely, Estarcia would be saved, and everything would be set to rights. Even though she was worried for Cyric, going into battle again so soon after such a severe injury, and leading the troops into battle at that, she trusted him not to get himself killed. After all, they'd kept their promises to see each other again, to return safely, had they not? She could trust him to be safe in this fight as well.
Trust . . . How long has it been since I've trusted someone? Have I . . . ever . . . trusted anyone? She looked over at Cyric, his hand still on hers. I trust him. If there's anyone worthy of my trust in this kingdom, it's him.
And yet, something seemed off. Why didn't Cornelius want to inform the king of their plans, plans that surely concerned him as the King of Estarcia? And why would a king just let some unknown enemy walk into the capital? It didn't make any sense. Surely the king wasn't that foolish. Or was he? But Rina didn't dare question Cornelius, the general and advisor to His Majesty. And it wasn't right to question the king either.
After all, he was the one who made me a Falcon Knight and let me be a part of the army in the first place. But the more she thought about it, the more she realized that that simply wasn't true; it was the recruiter that had allowed her, an orphan child, to enter; it was her teachers who had seen her aptitude and selected her for Pegasus Knight; it was Cyric who had sparred with her and helped her to better her skills with the lance and sword, to overcome her fear of bows and become a better Pegasus Knight; it was her skill and determination that had ultimately landed her the promotion to guardian of the Head Priestess, Lady Gwyneira, and the title of Priestess Guardian. The king had nothing to do with that, really.
Mentally, she shook her head, focusing her thoughts on what needed to be done now.
She couldn't help but think of the sword she was going to fetch from her quarters here at the palace, where she'd stored it for safe keeping while at the manor. After she stopped by the head Temple and passed on Cornelius's orders, and then the healer's to fix her injury, she would get it, wield it in the battle to come. She smiled internally as she thought of it, a smile both fond and slightly sinister, imagining what the sharp blade could, and would, do to her enemies.
A few of the Learanians had a few final questions. Rina had received her orders; she was ready to move and start putting her pieces of the plan into action.
If those Holy Order Knights have been even this tiniest bit lazy in my absence. . . . She pursed her lips, thinking of the dressing down she'd give them if that were the case.
But.
They were too late; the one possibly safe place outside for the capital had been taken. And the enemy had made them an offer. However . . .
Exchange the Fire Emblem for the Priestess? Was Cornelius mad? Yes, they needed to get the Priestess back, but at the cost of the Emblem? Then again, perhaps this meant that the enemy didn't know that they needed the Priestess; the Fire Emblem was just a symbol without her. However, if this was Cornelius's decision. . . .
"I will," she answered his question. "I will be there." Where the Priestess was, so would she be. If this exchange really was going to take place, she would be there. ------ My Liegexxxxxx xxxxxxMy LadyMy Lord. . . .

Behind his black facemask, nobody could see Jin let out a sigh. Judging by their reactions, they'd all but forgotten about that insignificant fort. To be fair, it had been a very unlikely target--not the site of any major city, plus it was in a sorry state of disrepair despite the Watch's best efforts. It just had the misfortune of being suspected of housing their so-called Fire Emblem and thus the victim of strong initiative.
Still... Jin was no military tactician, but shouldn't you, y'know, keep track of your positions and make sure they weren't in any immediate danger BEFORE something like this happened? But he held his tongue. Besides, this was an interesting situation: Archanea held the Priestess they needed, but Estarcia had the Emblem. Archanea needed both. If they didn't know that... perhaps exchange was a viable option. After all, they couldn't KILL an Emblem. The worst they could do is smash it, perhaps, and they wouldn't do that if they needed it so badly.
In fact...
"...From what I could tell, I do not believe they knew the Priestess was needed to use the Emblem..." Jin said slowly, as if making sure what he remembered was correct. "But what I do remember is that they really, REALLY wanted that artifact.
Better yet..." Jin smirked beneath the mask. "They don't even know what it looks like. Before the assault that took the fort, two of the enemy's captains appeared, disguising themselves as Estarcians and demanding to see the Fire Emblem. They'd assumed the person in charge would lead them right to it, but they hadn't counted on that person to be Ghis.
That said... have you anything that might pass off as the Emblem itself? A replica, a fake to fool would-be thieves?"
The question was innocent enough, but the connotations were obvious: If Archanea knew nothing about the actual Fire Emblem of Estarcia, they could perhaps be swindled into taking a fake for all the prisoners. They would then be left bereft of any bargaining chip they once possessed.
On the other hand, that might royally piss them off, and given the pace at which Archanea had already conquered most of Estarcia...
But again, Jin was no military tactician. Just a messenger, here.

Felicia was really, really tired of this stupid war! It was taking up so much time, and it was forcing her on this assignment for so long! But, she did have more than enough time to do some "reconnaissance" across Learania. Cheeses from Eyris, a bunch of herbs from Leara, seafood spices from Siras, some desert garbs and a pretty new cloak from Pentheus, and... best of all... an adorable little puppy from... from that place with the long name... what did they tell her it was called...? Ara... Ara-something. They had the cutest puppies. But she was getting homesick, and her new puppy could stand to meet his new friends, so she decided to just... go home!
So, she told her desire to Ferdinand, her best subordinate ever, and he told the Learanian officials in Eyris. As a parting gift for her gracing the cute little country with her presence, they even gave her an escort! Even though Ferdy said it was more reinforcements, she knew that he was just trying to make her be modest. They wanted their most glorious and well-paying visitor ever to have a safe trip back, especially with all of those nasty invaders around! Felicia didn't even know if they were still alive...
But, that didn't stop her from leading an energetic crusade through the late spring fields and forests back to Archesis, escorts in tow. The moment she got inside the gates, since she couldn't sneak over with a noisy, shiny bunch of escort troops behind her, she demanded that Ferdy drop off all of her things at her manor, and then lead the Learanians to the castle. Then, they could at least see the splendor that was her abode, and get to know the city a little, before they had to escort the air back to Learania. She had to at least give them that, for their services.
While they were doing that, Felicia made a beeline for the castle. Since the guards were pretty much expecting her (what, did they think she was dead?), she didn't even have to wait. So, she ran right on up to the conference room, as the guards had told her there was a meeting going on, and more or less kicked the door open!
"Commanders!" she shouted, in an attempt at a booming, ominous voice while the lights of the room hadn't reached her. "I arrive bearing beneficial news!" Then, she just started laughing, unable to keep the voice going, and strolled into the room, smiling. "I'm baaaaaaack~!" She walked past Cornelius and wiggled her hand in his hair, mussing it like one would a child. His hair was too perfect looking today. "And I brought... more Learanians!" She smiled, taking a piece of string from a pocket and tying it around Cyric's hair, turning it into a ponytail. Seriously, how could he fire a bow with it like that? "They're in town somewhere. So what're we talking about?" She finally sat in an empty chair or, if they were all occupied, she simply sat on the table. The Rogue was gone for a season and a half, traveling to various locales ranging from satisfactory to civilized, so of course her Estarcian prim and proper behavior was a bit lacking.
(( This is, essentially, the Crew-approval for any other FEFers that wanna take part in the final battle. ))

The general nodded, acknowledging Lady Isadora's incentive that he should be the one to go. However, before he could confirm that he would, Cyric spoke up. "Cyric..." And then a moment later, Caterina chimed in. Cornelius looked over to her, then down at his tea. He understood her desire to go. The Priestess would be there. Once the Priestess was safe, Caterina could fly her back to the city. After a moment of though, Cornelius looked up. "Very well. Cyric, Caterina, you shall go. Lady Isadora, you can represent Learania in this exchange. After all, many of the captives are from your country. Take as few other guards as possible, with you. We don't want to look like we desire a fight."
Then the unfamiliar messenger spoke once more. The general held back a scoff, as he took in the idea. "No! I will not go to such deception, especially in our current state. If they were able to tell that we did not hold true to our side, then it would directly put the Priestess' life in peril." Cornelius sighed and brought down his volume a little. "We will relinquish the Fire Emblem with reluctance, but, and may the deities have mercy on me, I find that life is always more valuable than an artifact, even it was given by the gods."
Suddenly the door flew open, nearly falling completely off. The shocked Cornelius turned to see what was going on and saw... just a boot at first. But then he heard a very familiar voice and it pleased him greatly. "Felicia!" The general smiled, ignoring what the spy was doing to his hair, and listened to the news she brought. "It seems we can always count on you to come just as you are needed, Felicia. Reinforcements will be well accepted. You did well." He smiled, knowing that she would probably be insanely confused now. "I'll fill you in later. For now, let us all leave here and prepare what all else needs to be done." He glanced at everybody in the room one by one. "We will be cautious. In the end, we will come out of this alive. This brings to mind something I believe it is you of the Learanian guild say.... Together we ride."

Isadora let out a nod toward Cornelius' decision. The General was right, their enemy was holding some of her people captives. She hoped that the Watch and the others were safe from harm.
Just then, she heard Jin's suggestion of creating a replica of Fire Emblem. Fooled the enemy with a fake emblem? Although it sounded clever and deceitful, the problem was the Estarcian's pride. These people were proud of their country and what great values this country had had. Having a fake item within their society would be an insult of calling them rich when carrying counterfeit gold. But even if the Estarcians were to agree with Jin's idea and had no replica, the paladin highly doubt that they would have enough time to create one.
Besides, Cornelius was right. If they were not holding their agreement to the bargain, there would be harm to the prisoners. After all, what advantage did they have to go against their enemy besides the emblem?
The Dame Knight jumped a little from her seat when she heard the door flew open. Wondering who was rude enough to disturb a meeting, the paladin looked up to see a woman who appeared to be a spy. She blinked when she heard the spy's news.
More Learanians had come as reinforcement? She thought that the road to Learania was blocked due to the road. However, it seemed that they had managed to sneak the reinforcements into Estarcia. Never should she thought that the Estarcian military had found ways to go around certain problems.
When she heard that the meeting was over, the paladin stood up from her seat. It was then when she heard Cornelius spoke up her guild's motto, Isadora couldn't help but smiled.
"Yes, that is our motto. Together we ride, no matter how difficult the situation may be."
She then turned her attention to the other Learanian commanders. "Vaida, would you care to assist me with the exchange? I don't want my back to be turned if the enemy decides to double-cross us. Deborah and Needles, I need you to stay in Archesis to raise up the defense force. Bring as many troops as possible to help prepare the defense."
Isadora then turned to Alihi an Jin. "If you wish to join me and the others to the exchange, you are welcomed to come. But if you don't want to, then please help Deborah and Needles to built up the defense. Now then, let's help the Estarcian and their country. Remember our motto. Together, we ride."
