He was pleased he had kept the rabbit when he heard his father's easy praise.
Corinth also managed a smile in return for Balios - the one brother whom he felt least intimidated by. He was kind enough, and always seemed to care about everyone - and he was always trying to get mother to stay longer, to be closer to them - something that Corinth didn't mind at all.
The small smile, to Corinth, gave him a sense of happy warmth - he'd done good. The young dark-face pup liked to feel useful - being as he sucked at hunting and roughhousing, doing small bits here and there gave him a tiny ego boost, a moment of warmth and happiness.

Terreis watched Derecho closely. He seemed so relaxed around their pups and she hoped that by watching him she would learn some trick to help her become like that. Though deep down Terreis knew she would never be completely comfortable around her sons, but any effort she could put towards it would ease the tension during the times they were around. Catching Derecho's look she gave him a look in return that told him not to worry. Attention diverted to Balios for a moment. "He is looking very forward to coming to meet you all." But that was the extent of what she would say for now. For surely the pups would be confused by her closeness to her brother when she was so distant with her own sons.
Iolaus agreed with Balios, he was very much looking forward to meeting his uncle. He was curious as to what he would be like, if he would play with him and his brother. But he was also curious towards watching how him and his mother would interact. For it was clear Terreis didn't care that much for her sons so why was she taking so much effort to tell them to behave when their uncle was to come. "I bet he will have a great time with us." Tail wagged happily, though he once again felt slightly pushed to the back of the gathering as his other brothers vied for fathers attention. That was fine, he would wait his turn to be in the spotlight. Maybe he could do so when his uncle was here.

Apollo shook his head slightly at the offer to share the rabbit, he hadn't been hungry earlier - why would he be hungry only a few minutes later? That seemed somewhat absurd. "I want to meet him too" He piped up after Balios' comment and t was true - Apollo did wish to meet their uncle and not just to please mother. Apollo was looking forward to meeting a wolf from outside the home pack - would they look different? Maybe wolves from other places had two tails or five legs and wouldn't that be interesting?
Of course mother didn't look any different and she had once lived in the same place as Iosef but his small puppy mind still clung to the hope that the mysterious Iosef would be interesting to see.
Taking in Terreis' look Derecho nodded slightly and turned his attention tothe rabbit as the pups seemed to be starting in on a 'i want to see him more then you' argument. "This is your Uncles vacation" He told them as he divided up the rabbit, ensuring that everyone got a decent sized piece "you guys mustn't overwhelm him to much" He cautioned before tearing off a piece of rabbit for himself, his brows still furrowed slightly as he contemplated just how this meeting with Iosef was likely to go.

"We won't, father," Balios said, nodding emphatically -- and he meant it. Balios had every intention of being on his best behavior, although in his mind he was never anything but a prime citizen.
He took his rabbit -- he was lucky to get a backleg, a drumstick of sorts, and he briefly contemplated if he wanted to gift the piece to anyone but decided against it. He had done his good deed for the day; he could see Corinth looking pleased, anyway, and Balios was always happy to see his shy brother come out of his shell a bit. It generally meant, in Balios's eyes at least, that he had done something right.
Because he thought it was the right thing to ask -- it seemed like it, anyway, and a very...grown-up...sort of thing to do -- Balios turned his attention to Terreis. "Do we need to do anything, Mother? To prepare?"
