SlashFighter1988 daaku shukun9 Actually I think, in game, the most annoying move is either protect or detect! There is absolutely no use for that move unless you are using it for scouting or protecting against two move attacks (ei solar beam, fly, etc.)! Which the trainers in game have no use in using those, because they dont use any strategies! Its just like the programmers stick those in there just to make u use up PP and annoy you! The only use I have for Protect is for Shedinja, which actually has notable weaknesses. Well, yes, but dont you think it's kinda pointless to give him protect, even if you know that your opponent is going to use a move that is super effective, they will just use it again the second turn! The bye bye shedinja! Even if you get the second 50% chance of success the second time, itll in the end just be futile!

I wasnt thinking of the stalling! I was originally trying to refer to in-game pokemon! Like I said they dont really use strategy, much less stall tactics or anything like that!

I'm pretty sure I've unintentionally been stalled in-game by the CPU at least once or twice before. And I'm pretty sure it was something very mocking like a Clefairy too. xd

It has successfully Protected 3 times in a row on at least two occassions.

I have a list, actually.
Protect, Detect Self Destruct, Explosion, Destiny Bond Any Accuracy altering move (Sand Attack, Double Team) Supersonic and Hypnosis
I think that's pretty much it. These are all from my in-game experiences, not PvP. I don't play PvP that often (In anything, really).
Protect, Detect, and Endure are just unnecessary stallers imo for the NPCs. They make battles take longer than they should. Self Destruct is annoying when you're try to level your Pokemon. I always end up facing a Graveler who uses it whenever my current Pokemon is close to leveling so I end up either using a Revive or making my way all the way back to a Pokemon Center to get it healed, I don't like leaving a Pokemon Fainted when training. Explosion and Destiny Bond are also annoying for the same reason, although they are not used by Wild Gravelers. Accuracy altering moves are annoying, either lowering my accuracy or raising their evasion. I've tried using them before and nothing changed for my opponent. After 5 consecutive uses of Double Team, they're still hitting me with standard 100% accuracy moves, not the never miss moves like Aura Sphere. Supersonic and Hypnosis. Moves that never hit my opponents but always hits my Pokemon. That's the only reason why I never use these moves.

Woot, I can now voice my perpetual hatred at Pain Split, Destiny Bond, and Protect!

Probably Sand-Attack and Splash.
Sand-Attack may be common, but out the the blue, really pisses you off.
And Splash, well... I actually used to think it only worked on water when I played Red. Dx

One pokemon uses surf/earthquake/ or a move that does damage and hits everyone. The other uses protect, keeps them safe ^^

Ghost type curse always makes me sad. If it did a third instead of half the HP of the ghost, I could probably pull off a set that uses it.

haven't posted here in a while...
definitely evasion raising/accuracy lowering moves. my only protection against explosion/selfdestruct is pokes with high defense and HP. i abuse my lanturn that has 398 base hp.
with wild pokemon, specifically legendaries, them using struggle after i use a false swipe and 40+ turns later, those timer balls are still failing me. though i only seem to keep having this problem with giratina... i keep having this problem because i'm currently soft-resetting for a shiny. whee what a ridiculous quest i'm on.

It's not that ridiculous, you can do it! biggrin You just have to keep on being stubborn.
Heck, I can relate to the Struggle part. After so long soft-resetting for a shiny Ho-oh, I eventually gave up and tried to catch a the regular one. I tried twice, and both times it wound up killing itself with Struggle. Then when I finally got my shiny after that, I caught it with little difficulty. u.u

Then I caught it with one Nest Ball on full health without a status issue. It's Jolly and has great IVs.
