One frustrating conversation with a satyr later, Sailor Aphrodite arrived on the marketplace scene, Catman in tow (and as sassy as ever).

"If you're not going to say something pleasant, Cat, then you may as well not say anything at a-"

Her words were cut short as not one, not two but five individuals came into view, among the glory and splendor of what could only be the treacherous Tartaros. One individual in particular was familiar - a civilian she'd encountered during the Doom Tree tiff. The marketplace was noted in her quick assessment, as was the guard who stood nearby, but eyes first fell on both the senshi and Negaverse officers standing by Mr. Doom Tree Civilian.

"It seems we're not the only ones who were forced to wander around."

Her tone seemed almost humored, though her expression was still grim as she moved forward to address the others. "I presume all of you are trying to get out of here as well?"

Where here was had yet to be confirmed...but as each moment passed, it became clearer and clearer to the Captain that they were indeed stuck within the fabled Tartaros.

"I'm not defending him." Azzo said in a stout manner. "I'm mearly saying anyone could've dropped you. If you were holding me and your arms got tired would you not also drop me, mud or not? Be thankful it wasn't cement."

He paused, "I've met Negaverse agents I know what they can do." He added with a huff, "Schee has given me no warrant to be worried of him though, and right now I really don't think we should be playing SIDES. If they were going to attack they would've done it by now."

He could've also bopped her upside the head, the offered handkerchief back, in a rather muddied state made him frown, everyone else insisted on washing them before giving them back to him, he sighed. Yes this was going to be a headache, he also had a feeling he was going to get a lot of unneeded protection, protection he didn't want at this point.

"I think..." He started to say before that is Aphrodite and Catman showed up. Azzo's jaw was hinged somewhere between dropped and utter confusion, it took him a second before shaking his head, finally someone else he knew. "Yes very much miss, we're trying to get out of this place. Though I beg your pardon for the earlier incident with the tree, I hope there's no hard feelings?" He added, feeling an apology was needed, after all he'd met what he assumed to be most of her team as well.

Came the answer, "However, it'd be much easier to get out of here if we all worked at a team, I think, Don't you agree Miss?" He asked her hoping to have at least one more person on his side he just wished he'd caught her name at the doom tree incident.

He paused, oh quick introductions, "Heh also, This is LT. Selenite, Lt. Scheelite, Sailor Rosalind, and Sailor Eos." He introduced the others holding a hand out to them all. He paused, "Oh and i'm Azzo..." He finished with an unenthusiastic voice by now. The only civilian in the group. He paused, "And Pardon me for being rude, but is that Tail real?" Out of all the things for Azzo to be worried about... it was a cat's tail.

"If you didn't make it so easy to remain unpleasant, perhaps I'd consider that request." The cat said smoothly, but quickly fell silent as he realized they were not alone. Of course they hadn't been alone in this marketplace, but just ahead of them looked fairly normal people.

And what struck him more soundly was the fact that there were lieutenants standing among what looked like senshi--and the civilian introduced them without fail. The boy's bright eyes were thoughtful now, sliding to his blonde companion and back to the one called Azzo. They knew each other then? And 'tree' clearly meant... the Doom Tree?

Interesting. His gaze swept to the withered treeman who had glanced at them only once, paused, then swept back to the two lieutenants he hadn't had the personal... pleasure of meeting just yet.

With a snort for the question, Grendel dismissively waved a hand. "Do you think it's real?" The answer was deliberately vague, and he jerked his chin towards the guard of sorts. "He certainly looks like he might have some answers for us." It was more to Aphrodite than anyone else--but couldn't very well associate with the two lieutenants at this moment. If they recognized him, then that'd be the end of his acting (no real loss), but if they didn't, well... He could keep up the farce just a little longer.

Oh, another Senshi? And another elaborately dressed one, to boot. Eos took a moment to look over her own fuku with a small frown. It wasn't exactly plain, and she'd quite liked it, but compared to Rosalind and this new senshi she was quite un-amazing.

And was that a cat? ...Was that what the guardian cats looked like, in human form? She remembered Europa talking about it at the first Basterds meeting, but this was the first time she'd ever seen it. ********* had remained in cat-form the whole time. Nodding her head in polite greeting to the two newcomers, she also turned her attention to the guard with a frown. She gave a small wave when Azzo introduced her, waiting patiently for the pair to respond with their own names.

"D'you reckon we should ask him where we are?" she asked, indicating the man not too far behind them with a nod of her head, "He might be able to tell us where we are, or how to get out?" The senshi of senses was becoming more and more aware that it wouldn't be as simple to get out of here as she'd first expected, but there was always hope. And there was no point in just turning around and heading back the way they'd come.

"Yes, I was alone," Selenite had snapped off to Scheelite and Rosaling, slightly disgruntled. That was just...ooooh! So irritating. Why had she arrived here by herself? Everyone else seemed to have had a partner, someone to help them figure out what was going on. The bluenette stamped firmly on her irritation and brought herself back under control. Flying off the handle wasn't going to do her any good at all.

When Aphrodite and Grendel arrived, her gaze raked over them quickly, slotting them as members of the Lunar Court; she hadn't heard anything about the Negaverse having their own guardian cats, and knew only that the senshi did. "Yes, I would like to get out of here," she interjected, flipping her braid back over her shoulder. Her blue eyes flicked over to the mentioned treeman, then back at the only people who seemed to take any notice of her. Which was odd, and probably something that should be investigated further. However, Selenite really really really just wanted this all to be over, and to that end...

"Scheelite," she said, voice very sweet, "Why don't you go ask him if he knows how to get out of here?" She sure as hell wasn't going to be doing the asking; better to have someone else field any adverse reactions.

Scheelite felt like his head was swimming . Company was nice and all, but it seemed like people were coming out of the woodwork now and it was just a bit too much for him to take in so quickly. However he didn't want to seem rude so he offered both Aphrodite and her odd companion a wave and a quick "hello!" before turning his attention elsewhere. Which was...everywhere really.

Still, there was way too much to think of. This forest, why they were there, just how much Rosalind was going to wail on him for dropping her in the mud, all these new people, that weird kid's cute little tail, where the hell his glowsticks went, and maybe most importantly of all were his friends okay? Was he going to be okay? It was just too much. Too damn much, and when things became way too much for Demetri to handle, he let the one he dubbed Scheelite take over. Azzo was busy introducing everyone, Scheelite was wrapped up with letting his usual personality shut down and something darker take over.

"Ask him? Sure!" It was as simple as that! The once again grinning Scheelite broke away from the group and made confident strides over towards the guard. "Heeey! HEY! Hey you! Can we ask you some questions? HEYYY!" He was enthusiastically waving a hand at the guard, hoping to get his attention. If one of the others didn't grab him he'd just keep strolling right up to him.

Azzo tilted his head at Grendel. With a lofted brow, "I wouldn't be surprised if it was, after all I've already been face to face with a bone tree that wanted to eat us... And other weird things..."

He tilted his head, "Yeah we should ask him with..." Azzo's thought was broke off by a hyper Schee. He moved quickly before smacking Schee on the back of the head much like Gibbs would Tony, he'd been wanting to do that since Eos had grabbed that damned pillow.

He looked at Schee, "Not so hyper." He said looking at the blonde, "You want to be the next one something tries to eat?"
He turned quickly from Schee, gave a quick bow to the tree, "Pardon us, sorry for my friend he's a bit excitable, but we need a bit of help. If you could spare a moment." He took a few side-steps away from Schee, mainly for a just in case the tree man wanted to bash someone.

The tree-man stopped.

Up close, it looked grumpy. There was a shining iron chain draped around its waist, upon which were hung a number of pouches and sacks. Tied behind one of the pouches was visible a shining cluster of strawberries, sweet small wild ones. Its brows were beetling and mossy, its eyes specks of light bored way back into the wood of its face: it looked out amongst the group of mortals that had come before it and gave a harrumph!.

"Help?" it said. "Help?"

It jerked a thumb over eastwards. "You want help, you go to the real fairy," it said. "I can't help what poor fools you mortals be, but rules is rules, and I en't allowed to not give help. So here's the help: go to the real fairy. Everyone's always late to this -- most sane peoples are packed up and inside this soon to the Hunt, blindies. You want help? Who doesn't want help?"

And with that vague direction, the guard stumped off again to investigate something shiny stuck in the mud.

The Straggling Marketplace consists of the mouth, the east stalls and the west stalls. You are at the mouth. The mouth consists of, currently, the guard and a personage who appears to be entirely made out of a whispering wind, whom if you approach you can hear soft music. The sign at his stall reads INSTRUMENTS.

Actions available:

You may go in two directions, investigate the stall or alternately ask or tell whatever you wish to the guard or the seller.

"Why's everyone gotta rain on my parade man? I totally had this Azzo-dude, I'm a big bad Negaverser I think I can talk to this guy without having my hand held, ya know?" The blonde was rolling his eyes and rubbing at the place where Azzo had smacked him. Sheesh, show some respect for a powered individual! If he had his abilities here...man he'd so show that kid.

Sad fact was he -didn't-, so he just had to deal.

To the tree man Schee simply stared. Help? Hunt? Rules? Blindies? Good god what was this dude going on about? Again, WAY too much to think about. Zink really should have been here to figure out all this bullshit while Schee did what he did best. Which was, of course, jumping the gun and running around like a hyperactive lunatic.

"Real fairy....mmkay." Right, whatever. He glanced east as the tree-man gestured that way, but otherwise lost interest. Something MUCH more interesting was around, and that was a stall labeled Instruments. AHA! Instruments! He was missing an instrument, wasn't he? Where on earth had his controller gone to? Sure it wasn't a real instrument like his guitar back home, but...well damnit it was close enough. So with confident steps the blonde Negaverser strolled on forward to investigate the instrument stall. The soft music emanating from it was rather nice, and Scheelite couldn't stop himself from trying to hum along.

Azzo shook his head, "Hey I'm just trying to keep you alive. You do want to stay alive don't you?" Azzo asked, "because I'm sure some bone tree is more than hungry enough to eat you. I don't want the awesome one to be eaten." Azzo wasn't sure it was going to get through Schee's thick head, but oh well, he could try. "After all who else would I buy glow sticks for after you were gone?"

Azzo looked when the tree man jerked his thumb eastwards. He tilted his head, almost in a curious fashion, hair causing him to look like a puppy, as it always did. However, he wasn't quite man's best friend, nor was he going to give up that easy.

He paused debating on what to do, should he ask the tree man for directions... he watched Schee go to investigate the stall. Cringing Azzo hoped he didn't touch anything, last time someone touched something of the fae's well... it wasn't a very good out come for one Mr. Mittens, poor rabbit.

Azzo frowned he decided to try to continue to speak to the guardian. "Pardon me again, if I may ask... Where about that way is the real fairy?" he jerked his thumb in the direction the treeman had "Or can you not tell us the directions?" He paused hand wondering to his pocket where the rabbit's tail was and incidentally his hypnotist rock, he wondered if the tail would work as a directional to the real fairy. Or perhaps he could bribe the guard for directions...

He frowned slightly at the thought, but if it'd get them home he could part with whatever he had to.

Rosalind disregarded Azzo completely-- the boy spouted nonsense out of his mouth at a rate that was alarming to the sailor soldier. He may have been a civilian, but after displaying zero sympathy for her being wronged, she had no desire to deal with him. And as for Scheelite, he could have fallen into another pit. Hopefully no one would be there to pull him out.

She shuffled over next to Sailor Eos and watched the two idiots bound over towards the decrepit tree-man. There was a part of her that would have loved to see it club them, but she dismissed the thought as being unladylike. A dark part of her laughed when Azzo slapped Scheelite in the back of the head-- just as he deserved. As the tree-man spoke, two things stuck out in her mind: real fairy and sane people. Rosalind was confused, those were basically oxymorons. She sighed when the tree-man looked less than happy after talking with the two.

Of course he would be dissatisfied talking with two hooligans. Rosalind took it upon herself to get further information from the beast.

Strutting after the creature while throwing a glare at Azzo, she started, "Hello, please disregard him. He does not know the proper manner in which to speak." She giggled diminutively and continued, "Anyways, I am Sailor Rosalind, and if I may say so, your bark is remarkable." Talking to him was easy-- she likened it to talking to her father's associates. She could not, however, look at the creature in the face. It was sick and would have surely shown on her face how disgusted she really was. Rosalind decided to take a coy approach to dealing with him.

Something shiny stuck in the mud caught her eye, and she decided to ask the guard, "oh, does that belong to you? Perhaps I can assist you in some way?" Rosalind had been in the mud already, and if it meant a way to get more information so as to get home, she wouldn't hesitate to do it again.

Ooohhh...Sailor Eos really wasn't sure whether approaching the man was a good idea. What if he wasn't actually a man, but some horrible monster? The bone tree had tricked her in the same sort of manner - those pillows had looked so comfy!

Reluctantly following the group, Eos watched the guard warily as he replied. Or...well, not necessarily replied. He spoke, but it didn't really make too much sense in regards to what they'd originally asked, so it wasn't really a reply. And then he left, the group just as confused as they had been originally. Real fairy? What did that mean? The senshi looked to her comrades to see if any of them had any idea, but a sea of faces just as confused as hers was all that looked back at her. She sighed - this was like a treasure hunt, only there wasn't any treasure at the end - only more puzzles.

Everyone seemed to be disappearing off in different directions, although remaining in the marketplace as a whole. Glancing to Scheelite, who'd approached the stall, then Azzo who'd followed the guard, Eos eventually shuffled after Rosalind, feeling more comfortable away from Azzo and that Gibbs slap of his and near to one of the girls on her side - one of the senshi. She followed the senshi as she also persued the guard, managing to flash a smile at Azzo, as she continued after Rosalind, stopping just behind her. Was that something shiny in the mud? Glancing to the guard, then Rosalind, then the shiny-thing, Eos gave a little curtesy, happily talking to the guard, "I'd also be more than happy to offer my services!"

Selenite had trailed along behind Scheelite when he spoke to the apparent guard. She wasn't entirely sure what he had meant by the Hunt, but the raven who'd helped her had called her blind before, so that remark at least she was able to take in stride. Even if she still had no idea what she wasn't seeing.

Once he'd stomped off with the civilian and the two senshi following him, Selenite looked around the market curiously. There weren't a lot of things to look at in the immediate vicinity; Scheelite appeared to have found the only stall close by and with a half shrug of her shoulder, the bluenette decided to continue to stick with the other Negaverse agent and investigate the instrument stall. She wasn't all that into music, but her roommate back at Crystal was. Maybe there'd be something here Eilian would like.

Even if she couldn't take it back with her.

Aphrodite had remained silent as she'd watched the others prattle amongst themselves over what to do to get out of the situation. She was fairly certain they were in Tartaros - but how to get out, she hadn't the faintest idea. What she did know, however, was that nothing was ever what it seemed and nothing, nothing could be trusted at this point.

Questions hadn't worked well with the satyr and, judging by the vagueness of the guard's words, it didn't appear that he would be of much use either.

Curiosity killed the cat, but so did standing around during a crisis. And the longer they remained in Tartaros, the more dangerous the crisis would become.

Shaking her head, high heels made their way towards the stall, golden shackles clinking with each step. With the guard seemingly as unhelpful as the satyr, choosing to investigate the stall and mysterious looking vendor seemed to be the best course of action for her at this point.

The mention of Scheelite being a big bag Negaverser was enough to make Grendel almost curl his lips, but the cat smoothly refrained and instead watched the lieutenant boldly strut over and interrogate the tree-man. His ears strained to catch the words for a minute, some nonsense about fairies and different areas of the market.

"I wouldn't do that." He hissed as Aphrodite, despite the lessons she'd learned, went to go look at the stall that seemed to be making soft, pearly sounds. "Music led us into this mess, unless you've failed to remember." The satyr had warned them, after all, but despite himself, Grendel reluctantly began to approach the strange wind elemental who seemed to be in charge, investigating the stall.

Selenite was eyed in the process, but he was also keeping a careful ear out should the guard chose to reveal anything vital to the two boys. "What sort of instruments are these?" He'd ask the elemental instead, keeping his voice smooth, if polite.
