The pale harpy was tingling with anticipation and the need to strike. She waited though, talons digging into the soil beneath her feet, feathered mane standing on end as she watched sister after another dart in to deliver their blows. Raa's first strike was.. not acceptable. She cursed the bear for it's blocking turned and cursed herself harder for having not landed a suitable injury to the beast. As commander she should have torn into it, crippled it, but she'd missed, and now the only thing on her mind was taking another turn at it.
The serpents return was like a finger on a touchy trigger. Zahraa' lunged at the beast with talons raised and ready to rend flesh from bone. Her pride not willing to take another near miss. She would have it and she would bring it down. If not dead, then certainly dying, she would accept nothing less then that.
The tips of dagger like claws met the warm flesh of the bear's shoulder and throat and she landed on it's back, and she clenched her "fingers", sinking razored appendages into it before kicking off with her hand legs and tearing the chunks from of the beast. The shoulder wound would do nothing but slow it down, but a wide arch of crimson erupted from the throat, and she knew she'd hit a something vital. It was only a matter moments now. Her next sister would have no trouble with the creature now as she made the final(hopefully) blow.

Luinil readed herself for her turn at finishing off the faltering bear. It had been good to see the two nannies doing well against their prey and the wind serpent had proven to be a canny fighter as well. She nodded in appreciation as the Commander wreaked havoc on the mortally-wounded bear.
Hopefully one last strike would suffice to put the creature out of its misery. Unlike some of her sisters, Luinil felt no joy in the pain of her prey. Hunting simply brought her joy in her own skills and a feeling of satisfaction that those skills would once again allow their flock to survive.
She leapt one last time, her talons outstretched, aiming for the throat to finish off the bear. The hit was solid and she could hear the snapping of the bear's neck as it fell, lying motionless beneath her talons. Spreading her tail and mane feathers in a victory display, she lifted her voice in a triumphant cry. The beast was finally dead
Bear HP - 0
{Edited to Add} Accepting the accolades of her queen with a quiet nod, Luinil had two of her sisters sling the dead bear across her withers to take back to the flock's nesting area.
"Good luck in the rest of the hunt, sisters!" She headed off, tail proudly fanned in her only outward sign of pleasure at the successful kill. The weight of the bear was uncomfortable, but quite - she chuckled to herself - bearable. And the set of the creature's claws she would claim as her kill prize would make a very nice trophy for her nest! The rest of the claws and fangs would go to the other hunters, of course, while the skin would be used to warm the nests of the children.
Gliding along in a smooth but rapid walk, she ignored the mess dripping from the bear's corpse. She would definitely require a very long soak in the river later to restore her usually pristine coat, but that would be a wonderfully refreshing way to relax and end the day. Humming happily to herself, she headed home.

Aldora beamed proudly at her sisters as they finished off the bear... though it had gotten pretty gruesome to see. She trotted over to look at their spoils. The Flock would have a good meal tonight!
"Wonderful job my sisters! You're all amazing!" she praised them wholeheartedly.
Her eyes wandered down to the bear once more. She almost felt bad for the way it died, being torn apart, but that was just it.. almost. Her heart still raced after the fact that she had gotten to even be a part of this hunt. She felt honored that she had the chance.

{Its been over 48 hours without a post, so its my turn again. :3 This round Luinil got the kill! You can edit your post to show that you are heading back to the Flock to deposit the kill.
We need one more round, this time a small prey will do since we got a big one already; normally, I would roll to determine if we get a big or small prey, but I think it'll be good to wrap this RP up for now!
After this next kill, the post order will be disrupted and you can just post a finishing post - be it a victorious cry, heading home or something similar. This is optional, however; I'll still mark this RP as being finished.}
"You haven't lost your touch during the move, darling!" Aviania beamed fondly at the blue huntress; the hunt was always exciting, and now they will have some food to last the night! As she wiped the bear's blood out of her talons and onto the grass, the brown Harpy looked at all those in her hunting party, "Good work, everyone! However, we need more than that bear to feed the Flock, sisters... While Luinil bring our first kill home, we shall continue with the hunt!"
She turned, eyes and ears alert; making sure that everyone was ready, she then darted deeper into the forest with a happy shriek. The smell of their recent kill, the bear, faded as she galloped through the forest, scanning the area for any signs of life. Not long after, her ears caught the sound of something scratching away on the ground; it was faint, but it was there... Coming from under a bush by a tree.
With a smirk, she changed directions rather suddenly, taking a sharp turn towards the bush; at once, the sound stopped, as if whatever was underneath the bush knew that it was in danger.
The hare paused as it stopped scratching for seeds buried in the ground; there was something heading its way and whatever it was, it made it feel uncomfortable. Sitting up on its haunches, the hare decided to take a risk; maybe moving will be better than just sitting around. Bounding out of the bush and into the open, the hare looked around, its ears twitching. Then, it noticed a group of... Somethings with sharp claws headed towards it, their hungry eyes seemed to yell for a meal... A meal where it was to be the dessert.
Turning, the hare ran for its dear life - its burrow was nearby, but one swipe from those deadly claws and it would be dead!
"There!" Aviania chuckled as she gestured towards the escaping hare with a quick nod of her head, "Catch it before it darts underground!" She half-turned her head to look at her sisters, "Catch it, and we may go home!"

Semuan-Ya nodded her head once toward the blue harpy, acknowledging the kill. Her muscles were still tensed, and adrenaline coursed through her veins. The hunt wasn't over yet.
As the queen took off once again, Semuan-Ya follwed with her own version of a hunting cry, sibilant and serpentine. Even as they were directed to where the hare was, oblivious and unexpecting for a short time, the serpent caught the scent and was hard pressed to hold back and wait for the order to attack.
The hare darted for its hiding place in the bushes, hopping directly towards its burrow which was just there.
The serpent rushed forward, and since the prey was small and she hadn't the claws of her comrades, she used the best weapon she had available that wouldn't render the creature mangled beyond all recognition. She swept her whiplike tail around.
The hare was too fast. It managed to dart out of the way so the force with which the tail struck was only glancing rather than lethal, but it was enough to stun the beast slightly, to slow it enough that the others had time to strike before their prey reached relative safety.

((sorry for the very long delay!!))
The whoop of sheer adrenaline and joy that followed her sister's leave with the beast's corpse was loud and joyous. Hunting was no longer her duty, but she still delighted in the thrill of the chase, the feel of talons in warm flesh.
As the Queen sprinted forward, Zahraa' was like a pale shadow to her right. The base of a tree taking the mark of her claws as she used it's solid weight to spring from, turning on a dime to trail the lead of her Queen.
She came to a tense stop as the scaled hunter swung her tail to knock the hare off course, and with a rapid movement to her left Raa' was there to intercept it, coming down hard with the favor talons of her front, right leg to knock the small creature back and hopefully gut it.
Mortally injured and bleeding, the hare gave a few more feeble hops after rolling from the force of Zahraa's hit. Landing it right at the feet of one of the nannies.

{{Sorry for the delay.. and the short reply l'D}}
Aldora smirked at the poor little creature still struggling near her taloned feet. Her eyes looked to her sisters, her heart proud of them and the hunt. Tired from the day and the wearing down from the hunt, she reared up, then came down on the small creature, hoping that she would land the final blow. She would feel so embarrassed to not have it on this tiny hare.
--Hare HP 0--
Aldora felt bones of the hare cracking and crunching under her weight. The once lively critter was now limp, its body letting a few twitches go as its nervous system died out. Beaming with pride, Aldora raised her foot off the hare and wiped the blood off in the grass. Gently she grabbed it up into her mouth and raised her head so her Queen and sisters could see the fruit of their efforts.

Glain beamed brightly. She was no hunter, and therefore did very little to help. Perhaps that was his only regret. However, that small twinge of darkness was easily out shone by overwhelming pride in her sisters and she reared back onto her hind legs, celebrating with the rest. They would not go hungry this month. "Very good sisters! This is a happy day indeed! The Great Mother smiles on us for now." She bowed her head in thanks and took her leave

{From here on, no posting order - it is optional to post a "closing" tag though! :3}
Her cry of victory probably rang through the forest and froze the many creatures of the night in their tracks, for it became silent as a graveyard right after.
"Praise the Great Mother indeed, darling," She chuckled at Glain, glad that the nanny was able to join them. Turning to the rest of the hunting party, she grinned, "Good job, sisters! The Flock will not go hungry for this week at least, especially since our foragers had been working diligently as well, since our arrival!" She chuckled again, beaming at those in her hunting party - there was blood on her sister's talons and maws, evidence of their participation in the hunt. Even the normally nurturing and softer nannies came out to take part in this... Well, historical event! Although the larger prey was taken down by one of their finest huntresses as expected, she had not foreseen their second kill of the night to be taken down by a nanny... It was their first hunt in new territories, and such a successful hunt it was too!
Nodding at Aldora, she gestured for the hunting party to head back home to get ready for their dinner; tonight, there will be a lot of dancing and singing! Such a joyous occasion it will be! Turning towards where their home was, Aviania shook out her mane of feathers; it might have dust and dirt trapped in it now, but it is evidence of the hunt... Although she will probably spend time grooming it later - for a Queen must look like one - for now, she will hold her head proudly up high as she lead her sisters home; she was sure that everyone feels the same way about the hunt! Some do it just to feed the Flock, others for the pure enjoyment in the prey's suffering, but the pride in the kill is the same...
It is everyone's victory.
