If there were a lot of prides with different beliefs, how would he find the best one that suited his needs? He wanted a pride that accepted gods and who would care for him. Better yet, a nice pride with a sense of community, who could teach him a lot about mortals and loved to talk and listen. Then there was his new quest to find the someone just for him. Who knew what pride they may be in of if they were like Keena and didn’t have one at all. Could he be making a mistake by staying in one place in choosing a pride and not wandering around looking, or was it better for him to learn about mortals first? Well, considering Rokopelli had told him it might take a while, he should learn to be a good god first. That meant he should learn more about mortals and these prides.

All of us can look like mortals which means that yes, you could have met one of us already. We can’t all come out with our wings. Gods can get hurt too, you know. I think looking like a mortal is also more comfortable when showing up. Others would treat you different if you just looked like a mortal or if you looked like a god. ” He explained as best as he was told and could rationalize, and then lifted himself up on all fours.

A Swamp? There is a pride there? I would really like to go there, and I don’t think I could find it on my own. I’m not a god of navigation.” He giggled, before smiling to her. “…if you don’t have anything else to do and if it wouldn’t take too much of your time –” Khuluma didn’t know how long lionesses lived. “ - then I would love to see that pride. Can you take me there?

Keena's golden eyes widened slightly when Khuluma informed her that, yes, all the gods could look like mortals. So she really might have met one and never known...wow... Now all she could think about was what might they have been like, who that she'd met might have been a god in disguise... really, she couldn't tell. As far as she could think, gods were a lot like normal people. Khuluma certainly seemed nice enough!

"Oh yes, he said there was a pride there...I didn't see it so I don't know exactly where it is. But I can take you close and perhaps we'll meet someone on the borders or something..." It was a shame about his pretty pretty wings, but she supposed it was probably for the best. Not everyone beleived in the gods, and of those that did not everyone liked them.

"I don't have any kind of pressing business, I'd be happy to take you. It's...this way," the lioness assured him, turning to head back the way she'd come. "Unless you were hungry or wanted to rest?" she asked uncertainly, "If you wanted to ask more questions, we can walk and talk too."

It was better than he imaged to have a escort to a pride, or close to it, and being better informed with mortals. Now he wondered why he hesitated for so long. It seemed easy and natural that he had high hopes his future encounters would go just as swimmingly as this one. Smiling, he moved up to walk alongside Keena and tried to keep up with her pace. She was being kind not to rush anywhere, but he did hope he wasn’t forcing his own desires on her otherwise short lifespan by taking him somewhere.

Oh, that’s awfully kind of you. I hope it doesn’t take up too much of your time. I’m sure that if I meet someone from the pride, I can ask all sorts of questions. I might even be able to join.” He was god. Surely his natural charms would shine through even if he looked like a mortal.

At the next assumption, he shook his head. “I don’t need to eat. Some gods just decide to or not. It’s why I don’t hunt. I never really learned. I met the God of Predators once and he said it would come with time, but I’m in no rush. If I don’t need to kill, then why bother?” He looked at her, narrowing his eyes. “What’s it like to hunt? I know others said it was amazing. How often do you eat? Do you hunt every day? I bet that gets bothersome. ” The poor lioness had given him a free pass to bombard her with questions. “If you’re on your own, does that mean you never were in a pride? What about your family? Are they in a pride? How big is your family?” This was going to be a long trip.

"Oh, don't worry, I travel all the time anyway," Keena assured the young god. "I'm not going anywhere in particular.". Sometimes she had someone she wanted to see, but right now she didn't mind regardless of which way she went.

He certainly had a lot of questions though! Keena just hoped she was the right person to answer them.

"Well... I hunt because I need to eat. I don't always hunt every day, but if I don't eat I feel hungry...uh...that means my stomach gets tight and it hurts a bit. It's not so bothersome though, especially when I'm hunting to share with someone, I don't mind it so much then." She smiled at him, "I'd be happy to teach you if you'd like, and if you don't like it you don't have to do it again. I learned when I was around your age, or, er, the age I think you'd be if you were a mortal," Keena corrected herself awkwardly. "And no, I wasn't in a pride. It was just me and my mom, only she was forgetful a lot. I think she forgot about me. I don't know if she met someone else or if I have more family now, I can't really remember her anymore," the lioness admitted softly. "But that's okay, I turned out alright, don't you think? Besides, having friends is like having a family, only everyone is completely different and it's exciting to meet new people."

((I dunno if you wanna wrap this one up and start a new one with the Swampie girl, or if you wanted to add that one on to this one...?))

Khuluma considered these answers, absorbing them quickly and flicking his tail with each response. The best way to find out something was to find out through questions, and it also kept a conversation from stopping dead. If he talked, others talked, and if he knew more, the more he knew about others and their ideas. Mortals were quickly becoming more fascinating the more he found out he had questions for them. Who knew how little he knew, and now look how quickly he was learning. Keena was especially supportive of his constant stream of questioning, and he liked her even more for it. The fact she was assiting him in each and every way was like getting the biggest helping paw he could have ever hoped for. Not even some gods had been this kind!

What was more surprising was their similiarities. Khuluma became somber at the mention of family, and nodded, the questioning slowing down around this topic. He didn't like to think that he might have been forgotten, but it could have very well been the case. "I never met my family. I don't even know if I have one. It's sad that mortals always have family since there is no other way you can exist. Gods can just show up without anyone." He frowned at this idea, but looked up to Keena. Being bitter and moody would not help with talk, and he didn't want to talk about this particular thing. "I'd love to see how you hunt just to see if I am missing out on anything. You're certainly a great mortal in helping me this much. I couldn't have asked or wished for anyone better to help me. " Smiling, he skipped his way over to her side and started off on their walk.
