Tahari was having mixed emotions. She should be glad that the Elohim accepted her offer; it was an honor. With Bara in her own cave with her own...family...they weren't quite as 'attached' in the same manner as if Bara was still in their own cave.
"My mother and grandmother would be pleased," she bowed slightly to Kafiri. She wondered if she had ruined it already with her initial reaction. "We will keep my grandfather in line; he is...not..." Tahari glanced at Valerius, her eyes asking for help in how to describe (politely) her racist grandfather.
"He's lost his mind, and rambles about a distasteful past. I can keep him occupied if you ever come, Kafiri."
"Please?" Tahari perked, hoping to redeem herself in some manner.
Valerius was impressed on how calmly she was reacting to this whole situation. It was tense at first, but it seemed like progress was being made. Hopefully she wouldn't slip, but with her sudden usage of manners, Valerius didn't think so. He released an inward sigh of relief, glad to see that some progress was visible.

Though she had no idea what exactly they were implying about Tahari's grandfather but she was quite sure she could handle anything. There were certain codes of conduct within the pride that made her confident enough to start but with her upbringing as it was.. she couldn't imagine any reasonable deviations from expectations causing much trouble with her.
"That sounds good," she said, smiling at them, "I understand, it's fine. It's kind of you to invite me."

Valerius thought that perhaps they were being a bit too forward. Time to change tactics; he drew forward and nudged Tahari gently, something that he rarely did. He didn't think words were going to work too well right now, though; she was getting too worried about how Kafiri perceived her, and that was a little much for her tender emotions.
Tahari was a little insulted that he nudged her in front of Kafiri; wasn't think a little too...forward? Embarassing? Unneeded? She huffed a little, offering a bow to the leopon. "I guess I should go now. It was nice seeing you, Kafiri."
Valerius nodded. "It was great meeting you, I know I'll see you again, hopefully sooner rather than later."

Curious about the interaction, Kafiri did her best to hide a wondering stare. It seemed to be some indication that it was time for them to go, and she didn't care to ponder the justification. It was awkward enough to guess that had something to do with it.
"It was nice to meet you both, have a good evening," she said, nodding to them. She glanced back to the water, it didn't seem quite so interesting now. Maybe she would have to go find something else to do.

Tahari felt a little bad, but she knew that she couldn't keep talking forever. Something might set her off, and everyone needed to sleep. And probably eat something. She nodded, feeling mildly better than she had when she left the cave. Now she almost dreaded going back to that cave with all her family.
Valerius followed silently, trying to read the tension in Thaari's muscles. This was going to be a quiet evening, he hoped. Tomorrow might be a different story, mattering on what dreams she had when Tahari fell asleep.
