"Oh, no, not really. I can work my way around basic mechanisms but I'm no math whiz..." Lia said in a half mumble, tapping her lower jaw in thought before fixing her gaze on Shadow rather then the general space near him. "What about your parents?" She asked, suddenly realizing he probably had them if he was a natural organism like he said. "I mean, you must have parents, right? Don't you have a family?"

"Well. You have something then do you not?" he inquired. Why would she feel disgraced about a talent. At least she got something from then, but just before he could express his thoughts, he saw the gears turning, then the question arose that lit a fire in his spark.
A low growl escaped his throat and his body tensed up. If it were possible, his eyes actually glowed with more ferocity. "I do not...speak of my...father" he snarled through bared teeth. He was lucky he could keep control of his anger. In the past someone would have mentioned the name and he would tear their head off

Lia felt her fur bristle and she even retreated back a step, ears pinning back at the larger being's rage. "I'm sorry, I didn't know," She said quickly and uncomfortably padded at the same space on the floor.
An awkward silence ensued from the teal haired fox as she turned her attention down to her gloved paws, fidgeting a bit. She wasn't sure what to say, though obviously anything on that subject would be unwise, and she was feeling incredibly guilty for bringing it up.

He noticed her discomfort and immediately tried his best to calm his nerves. There would be other times for his rage to escape, but he had remember earthling mannerisms. It's not nice to blow up in someone's face.
"My apologies. That subject is......well....very unsettling" he stated, knowing well she probably already could acquire this information with out his statements

Lia just nodded a little, not making eye contact and keeping her gaze to her fidgeting paws on the floor. "I'm sorry," She said again, a little afraid of looking back up to him even after his anger seemed to have subsided.
"Do... you have any fond memories of your home?" She dared to ask after a lingering silence, tentatively turning her gaze back up to the cybertronian.

As if he was suddenly was having an out of body experience, he swore that he saw himself from above, reaching a single paw out and delicately putting one of the curved claws under her chin, and gently moved her head up to where she could see him. "I don't wish to be feared. You made no mistake in your actions" he said as gently as he possibly could, surprising even himself. Carefully as not to scratch her, he removed the claw and put his paw back down. Then he felt as if he was back in his body again. What a weird moment to him
"Fond Memories? I suppose the academy was the only memory I enjoyed. An escape from home. Mostly. But even then that's a strained form of a good memory." he said as he recalled those thousands years ago when he was only the size of a baby elephant. Even for his age, he was the smallest, and the brightest, but held back so greatly

Lia seemed to slow up her movements at the unexpected moment, not frozen, but just sort of... slowed, not sure what to think it since it suddenly seemed to defy the preceding happenings.
She cleared her throat and fiddled a bit, running a strand of furn through two forepaw toes, giving a-- what she thought was appropriate-- silent pause before opening her mouth again.
"Well then..." She mumbled at first, working her way up to her regular speaking voice through the phrase, "Why can't you start over and make good memories here?"

Feeling a tad embarrassed by his actions, he turned his head to the left and looked away from her, feeling the pause was also necessary to say the least.
"Memories are hard to make if there is no one willing to share them" he said with his look shying away from her. He didn't want to imply anything, or even for that matter push her into doing anything at all with him. He just thought it better to say it outloud

"Wa, well," Lia said, suddenly gaining volume and confidence back to the equal of her oblivious self that first greeted him, mostly because she felt like she had to, worried he'd shy away further if she hedged too much. "I don't see why that's a problem. There's tons of interesting foxes here. And uh..." She lightly chewed her lower lip, drumming her toes against the floor when she paused, wondering how to phrase things to seem less... pushy. "Well, you know, if you don't think I'm too obnoxious," She said, pulling the corners of her mouth back in a tentative smile, nervous about any possible rejection.

He slowly moved his large body back down to the floor, feeling a bit tired once more. However his red eyes were trained on her as he listened to her speak. He was going to motion a protest at the thought of venturing with others but he stifled himself as she seemingly continued onward with her words, hinting at the very thing he motioned for just as subtly.
"I can't see how you would be bad for my health" he spoke softly. It was halfway between his usual negativity and actual enthusiasm. He wanted to face paw at his own words.
