To each their own I suppose, I could care less if other people write and read it, I didn't say I didn't think it should be done, it's just not something I'm interested in. 3nodding I don't understand the people who freak out and say something shouldn't be done just because they don't like it. Tha's silly.

And I guess I can understand your second example Mako, because then Diru is acting themselves, that's actually a nifty idea. ninja

I want to read this Child Prey fic you speak of!!!!!!

I read a wonderful KR Cube PV fic. It was very sad and X-rated but I think it was well written and it made me cry. (Semi-hard to do.) crying

Have any of you heard of a fanfic called The Wild Hunt? It's my favorite jrock fanfic ever! It's mainly DEG but it has other jrockers too. (It's an AU.) I lost the link to it again, I need to find it! gonk

I also like Naze Nani Dir en grey because it's so ******** up 3nodding

Well..... in the weird things I wrote..... they were based on a dream I had, so I doubt they acted even close to what they're like in real life (I don't even act how I do irl in my dreams gonk )

Ah, no, I didn't mean to sound like I was getting defensive or anything. I actually wasn't even meaning to reply directly to anything you said sweatdrop To each their own, definitely - I'm certainly not here to force anyone into writing fanfiction crying

And you may. Are we allowed to post them up here? If not, you can read them at s i l e n t::a n g l e s (and drool over Miyavi in the bathtub). The Child Prey fic (called Children) is in the fanfiction section under Omittchi. All my work is there, actually. Tell me what you think when you read it, please ^______^

I should warn you, I guess - it's long and wordy ('cause I'm a huge stickler for detail). And there are more chapters to come, and side-stories, and ... yeah. Stuff. >_> It's an epic, I tell you.

I'm going to edit my fic so it has more Jrockers in it (instead of random freaks none of you would know).

I actually turned it in for a school project so I cut out a lot of stuff I wanted to have xd I'll add it back in though. 3nodding

And that's ok, I like long fics. 3nodding

Sometimes reading people's views on fanfiction (especially real person fanfiction) makes me a little discouraged. Not about actually writing it, but more that there's people who are offended by it. And, despite everything i do, i don't like upsetting people.

But i don't mind fanfiction in the least. Honestly i think it's more of a personal thing...like a daydream. People are allowed to daydream whatever they want about whoever, and some of them write it down. As long as it doesn't get out of hand, like selling it as a book or throwing it at whichever people are presented in the story, i think it's a good and healthy thing.

Something caught my eye a while back after reading Stephen King's The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon. It was a little note in the back of the book, like a disclaimer, and in it he said: "There is a real Tom Gordon, who does indeed pitch in the closer's role for the Boston Red Sox, but the Gordon in this story is fictional. The impressions fans have of people who have achieved some degree of celebrity are always fictional, as I can attest of my own personal experience." That sort of stuck with me whenever i'd see contoversy over the issue. No one really knows these people, and in the end, even the ideas people who would put an end to fanfiction have about the celebrities are fictional.

Sheesh. e_e It just goes around in circles, doesn't it? (and that's not even touching the jrock world's war on fangirlism.....)

*ahem* But on a much lighter note..... Anyone ever read the fic Agitator, by Alexandra? *worship*

That quote is actually very wise. I mean, Stephen King is a genius anyway, but that last part is really true. (I'm going to assume that book came out before the beginning of this year's baseball season, because Tom Gordon is now closing for the Yankees.) I've never thought about fanfiction being like a daydream, but it does really make sense. And yes, it really does just keep going in circles and circles and circles.

This is why Mr. King p0wnz heart

I think people who are offended by it are taking it to seriously, no one makes them read it. The only time I can see it being wrong to write it is if the persons IN the fic are like "Stoppit T.T" Sort of how Anne Rice is like "DON'T TOUCH MY LESTAT!"

And I have not read that fic, just heard you talking about it. sweatdrop

Ooooohhhh nonononoooonooooooo not the whole Anne Rice thing...... >.> *heavy sigh* Louis and Lestat were what got me started on yaoi in the very beginning. (Though it was actually through a fanart site and the actual books rather than fanfiction, i've never really read much Vampire Chronicles fiction) Yeah....not a fun issue to look back on. :/ (though i'm sure the issue is still alive and well in that fandom)

As for Agitator....well i do love to spread the word don't i? ^^

I hate Anne Rice right now. Her writing seems primitive. Only book by her I concider good was Interview... the next few in the series were at least entertaining, but after a while... bleh.. gonk

Vampire Chron. fics amuse me. They call them "specs" sometimes. o_0

I think I'll print out that DEG fic and read it before I go to sleep or something. domokun

The original five books of the Vampire Chronicals were good - my favorite was Interview. After that, though, it all went downhill. The only good books to come out of them, in my opinion, were Blood and Gold, and Blackwood Farm - and that was in relation to the other ones I'd read.

Which Deg fic?
