It took a moment as Khalla looked back and forth between them, absorbing their words, before she finally grasped the enormity of the situation. Then she stood there a moment longer in silence, as if she were trying to convince herself that this were actually happening.
"Really, that's what all this is about?" She sighed and stood up a little straighter, bringing one hand up to rub lightly against her temple. It took her only a few moments to decide the best way to go about discussing this with Ari - well, the two of them, really. There were a few points that she wanted to touch on.
"Rohan and I are dating, he's not forcing me to do anything," she dropped her hands from the strap of her book bag and spread them a little. "Look at me, Ari. Do I look upset or scared?" She didn't, not in the slightest, though she was suddenly self-conscious of the situation she was in. She had already thought of the fact that Rohan could lose his job, despite the fact that he was not teaching her specifically. She did not need Ari coming in and making this situation worse.
"It looks bad, I know, but he is sweeter and more gentle with me than any other guy I know." She moved a little closer, reaching out to set a hand on Rohan's free arm, and then turned back to look at Ari. She hesitated a moment, glanced up at Rohan, and then decided to just say what she was thinking. "Besides, I wasn't dating Rohan when I came to the gym the first time. I didn't even really know him that well. This is all.. a fairly new development." She paused halfway through the last sentence to wave her hand slightly, as if she were looking for the right words. She didn't know if Ari would believe her, but it was the truth. Rohan was far removed the people that she fought on a regular basis.
She did stop there, however, to turn her gaze up at Rohan suspiciously, and her eyes narrowed a little with her brows furrowed just slightly. "I didn't know that you could fight though. When did you learn to do that?" She wasn't mad that he hadn't told her - after all, they hadn't been together that long and there was no possible way that the two of them could know everything about each other. It just seemed a little odd that he wouldn't mention it given the fact that she talked about her kickboxing lessons rather frequently (especially as a cover up for all her bruises).

Rohan paused his fidgeting to shoot Ariana a mild glare when it was starting to become rather obvious that the girl was going to ignore him, even despite the fact she'd dragged him all the way back here. It was a good thing he liked to head back with time to spare in case something, anything, happened on the way back. Of course, he'd never predicted anything quite like this.
When he was let go, he took the moment to brush his outfit off, though taking into account the fact his clothes usually looked even more ruffled than they did now, it must've been amusing for Khalla to watch. It was obvious he couldn't quite decide what to feel, and was thus shifting from irritation to annoyance, to feeling awkwardly out of place. In all honesty, he felt like the two girls really didn't need him here to discuss this. There was nothing at all he could offer into the conversation.
He'd settled for irritation until Khalla turned to address him. Rohan first stiffened and then visibly flinched; if there'd been any doubt in Ariana's eyes as to whom wore the metaphorical pants of the relationship, it was probably starting to become clear. His passive, laid back nature didn't quite make him particularly dominant, "I really didn't want you knowing about that..."
Reaching up, he rubbed the bridge of his nose, as if the movement helped him think, and then let out a sigh, "I'd been mugged before. A couple of times, actually. I decided it would have been rather stupid of me to not do something about it," a pause, which he used to look at Ariana briefly, "I learned before I came to live over at Destiny city. Very glad I did; this place has an elevated crime rate compared to where I used to live."
Nevermind that he was technically helping elevate this crime rate in his spare time at night.

Ari focused mostly on Khalla as the blonde spoke. Rohan was ignored in favour of scrutinising Khalla's body language, searching out any hint of worry, fear, or lying. By the time Khalla turned her attention to her boyfriend, Ari's shoulders were relaxed, though that didn't keep her from rubbing at her forehead.
"I'm really relieved to hear that," she sighed. There was still a tightness to the twist of her mouth, and tiny worry lines around her eyes. This thing was still a huge scandal just waiting to happen. "Not that anyone's going to be easily accepting of a student and a TA dating... But if anyone finds out, it won't be from me."
She raised her hand like a girl scout, or a court witness being sworn in. Her word was her bond even without the gesture but maybe this would enforce how seriously she'd take this. Even if she disapproved, she wasn't going to rat Khalla out and cause trouble for the pair.
An amusing thought occurred, and she turned her gaze back to Rohan. Cracking her knuckles, she asked, "Is this the part where I warn you to treat her well or else I'll kick your a**?" Never mind the fact that he was a decent fighter. That would just make it all the more interesting, and rewarding when (never if, in her mind) she won.

She watched Rohan fuss over his clothing, her lips pursing slightly as she fought a smile - but the corners lifted slightly regardless. She raised a brow at him, wondering to herself why he was even bothering to try to straighten his suit - or why it suddenly mattered to him. Not that it wasn't obvious, it was just amusing since she was used to being the nervous one, not her boyfriend. It was nice to see that even he could get his nerves poked at but she wouldn't call unnecessary attention to it.
"I guess I can understand that," she shrugged lightly as he explained himself to her. She wasn't really accusing him of knowing fighting for any terrible reason, after all. Ari knew it, didn't she? Why couldn't Rohan? It had just been a surprise. Besides, hearing his mugging story gave her the beginnings of a good little white lie when Rohan inevitably asked about why she had been beaten up when she first went to Ari anyway.
"Well it's not like we openly advertise it at school or anything," she said with a small sigh as her attention turned back to Ari, curling her arm through one of Rohan's just so she could take a little comfort from knowing he was there, "we don't really have the time to see each other there at all anyway." She glanced up at Rohan's face to see what he was thinking, trying to read him, but quickly found that there was nothing to be found there. "Thank you for keeping it quiet, though."
She had just been about to let herself calm down, convinced that this meeting was soon to be over, when Ari turned that question on Rohan. "Oh, Ari, don't," she began, frowning at her friend despite the fact that she had an inkling that it was just a joke. Poor Rohan didn't need to be put through that though.

When Ariana focused her attention back on him, Rohan offered her a suffering look, "I think you already tried that, and if I recall correctly, it failed," it was hard to tell if he was trying to pull a joke, or if he was being serious - quite possibly the former, but since his voice remain mostly monotone, it lost it's effect. He, apparently, needed more of a lesson on humor than he did on self defense.
In all honesty though, he didn't think Ariana could have 'kicked his a**', mostly because he was used to fighting stronger-than-the-average-human opponents, and well... he'd never stopped to consider the red head might be a senshi.
The irony.
He turned to look at Khalla when she directed her attention back to him, "I'm sorry I never told you. I didn't quite think it was relevant, and I was slightly... concerned it might drive you off," he frowned slightly, looked at his watch, and then glared at it; he really should get going. This was the type of thing he really shouldn't be doing if he wanted the whole ordeal to work, "We're keeping it mostly a friendship until graduation comes," he said out loud, his eyes still on the watch, "I've not laid a hand on her," yet, anyhow. Just as a side note, it was increasingly hard not to, "I really should get going. We can continue this conversation later," after a pause, he addressed Khalla, "And you better tell me what happened, and why you felt you needed kickboxing classes in the first place. I'd always thought it was just a hobby."
That said, he shook his wrist, as if the movement would somehow make the time his watch showed different, "Drat," he grumbled under his breath and turned to leave, but paused for a moment to give Ariana a mild nod, and Khalla a slight smile, "I'll talk to you later," with that, he was gone, this time walking at such a fast pace he could have been running. Maybe if he rushed, he'd still make it in time to avoid awkward question.

Khalla shrugged slightly and stared of as Rohan's figure became smaller and smaller the farther he got from them. "That's true, but at the same time he needs to be focusing on things other than my safety, you know?"
She glanced back at Ari and offered her a half-enthusiastic smile, nothing more than a slight lift of the corners of her lips. It was hard to smile when she knew that the dynamics of her relationship might be about to take a big turn, even though it had hardly even begun.
"I guess it's not your fault though, knowing him he'd have reached this point eventually." She supposed the only reason that it really irritated her was because she knew that there was no way a mugger would hurt her in the slightest. Other things, like the negaverse, could definitely be a problem. Rohan wouldn't know about that though. "I should get back to my dorm though, I have some studying to do now that my date is.. over." She managed a small, slightly amused smile at this point, knowing that she'd never forget this one.
"I'll see you for practice tomorrow, okay?" She half-turned to head in the direction of Crystal Academy, but she wouldn't leave without an acknowledgment - it was rude to just walk off.

Ari nodded along as Khalla spoke, clearly chastened by the whole event. But when Khalla mentioned practice tomorrow, Ari had to grin, relieved that the blonde wasn't going to keep her distance as punishment.
"Alright, I'll see you then," Ari agreed, waving. "Gonna kick my a**, right?"
It would be good for Khalla to use her irritation with Ari in practice, get it all out without ruining their growing friendship, or poisoning it by keeping it all inside. And Ari was confident enough in Khalla's skills that the blond wouldn't accidentally (or purposefully) give Ari any injuries too horrible, so it wouldn't be a problem letting Khalla go all-out to see what she could do.
Ari waved til Khalla was out of sight, then turned and continued on in the direction she'd originally been going, before she'd started this whole mess.
