To watch Zurine gave Vivi feelings somewhere between those of a jester presenting gifts to a princess and those of an adult playing peekaboo with a child. She could not have felt more pride at watching the little bird's reactions to the new flavors. Zurine's every expression was a source of endless pleasure. Vivi wondered -- would her own Raevan give her similar feelings? Would his or her expressions be so lively, so delicate, so utterly addictive to watch form? Certainly, Vivi would love him or her -- certainly. But the Frenchwoman could not help but hope that her own Raevan would be as exquisite as the beautiful little Frei before her.
"Aah, wonderful~" laughed Vivi brightly, dipping into a small, silly curtsey. "I am delighted to have given satisfaction, mademoiselle, monsieur. It is perhaps forward, but I wonder -- when my own little Frei is born, would you both be interested in meeting him or her?"

Watching his charge, Phiel couldn't help feeling his own rush of certain warm, paternal pride welling up in a place he wasn't sure he'd ever felt anything of the sort. He laughed softly, reaching out to gently touch Zuri's shoulder while she stole another sip of his drink. For something so icy and cool and sometimes distant, Zurine had an inimitable way of making him feel emotions that were unmistakably warm in nature, up to and including gratitude. For all that he'd been unprepared for them, they were certainly welcome feelings. "I would be glad to meet him or her, yes," Phiel said, chuckling faintly as he looked to Zuri, arching a brow. "How about you?"
Looking up, the dainty frei tilted her head, silky bluish hair sliding over one shoulder. "If it is good... Not too warm, yes," she responded, licking condensation from one blue-tinted lip. She tried a little dip of a curtsey back, settling back into grave politeness.

If not too warm?
Aah -- of course, Vivi mused, the little bird of snow could not be near something too warm for long! She wondered, was such a thing painful for the Frei? Or perhaps just a thing of preference, like how Shepard refused to sleep without the windows wide open? Or, worse of all, would constant heat melt the beautiful Raevan, like an intricate ice sculpture dripping, dripping, dripping away...?
The little vial of dawn, Vivi noticed, was cool at midday and warm in the middle of the night. But at no point was the little vial hot, so she figured that one way or another, beautiful Zurine would be safe.
"I think that it will be fine in that respect, cheri," said the Frenchwoman with a smile. "I will look forward to that day!"

"So will I," Phiel agreed, with a soft chuckle, laying a gentle hand across Zurine's back. "This one could do with more companions than just me. I want to make sure she grows up with some... eh, warmer influences. Emotionally speaking, at least."
"Warm no," Zurine said, shaking her head daintily, as she stole another sweet sip of iced coffee, before Phiel took it back with a snort and a shake of the head. He took another deep drink, sighing. "Like cool. Will be cool, like me. And then 'panion. Yes."
Scratching his grey curls, Phiel let out a soft, short chuckle, swirling the last couple sips of his drink. "Well, we shall see, then," he said, stretching out his legs. "Would you like me to leave my number?"

"Yes, of course. And --" Vivi smiled softly as she held up one finger, slipping a bakery business card out from its place on the counter. With a few swooshes of a pen, she added her cell phone number to the back of the card, and then held it out to Phiel. "Here," she said. "Here is mine. Call any time you wish, yes? It is lovely to have met you both."
Turning to Zurine, Vivi could not help but let her smile grow a little brighter. "And do not worry, little one -- I am sure the new one, he or she will not be too warm for you."
