"Captain...Serandite? Negaverse?" Confused eyes blinked several times at the girl before she was lightly patted again, this time with a bit more exuberance behind this. Firstly, she approved greatly of the fact that this girl was not a senshi - it meant that she was less likely to harbor the reincarnated soul of one of Chibiusa's beloved friends and more likely to be useful. Only one senshi so far had remotely impressed the princess, and that was Sailor Virgo.
Sadly, Virgo was not here. But the second reason Black Lady approved so heavily, was the bunny motif that was everywhere on the girl. In fact, looking closer it was easy to see that she was covered all over with a pattern of star seeds on her uniform! "Sera? Call me Usagi then, Sera. Milady is much formal and strange. My name is Usagi....Bunny." The young woman's spirits were burgeoned by the fact that not only had she not been shoved with a totally useless senshi, but an officer of the Negaverse to boot! Maybe the girl could be of some use, and if nothing else, some information. Two things Chibiusa desperately needed.
Settling her gown again and trying to ignore the uneasy warmth of the apples in her makeshift sling, Black Lady took steps ahead and onto the northern path. "We go this way then. Maybe there will be another person? It can not be just us, this is a magic place. You know, you look very much like a senshi. It is too bad you are not without a power much. You could be very dangerous." She was very dangerous. It helped, to look like a Serenity.

A mile up the series of pathways they followed, the two rose-haired travellers came upon a lake, shallow and black and perfectly still, ringed by a retaining wall of bleached white stones. Near the path was a place by the lake where the ground was bare, and a pair of time-worn grooves in the dirt. On either side of this was a stone brazier, sheltering a small flame from the wind. Something else was on the retaining wall, too, something small and red, but without approaching, it was difficult to say what.

Again, Serandite had no clue what she had done to earn Black Lady's approval. But it was obvious it had something to do with her affiliation to the negaverse-- whatever made her comrade happy, it made Serandite happy. Not only would it had been horrendous to stay on Black Lady's bad side but good moods could only make this unknown experience somewhat tolerable. If one could tolerate the fact that they knew nothing of the situation, whatsoever.
"Usagi. That's much easier. We really should meet up for a tea party once we get out of here-- Your name already guarantees we'll be good friends." She referred to the meaning of 'Usagi,' although the affinity was already obvious between the two rose-colored girls.
She followed side-by-side with Usagi, pink heels walking softly upon the soft ground path. "I've been mistaken for a few times. It makes an excellent disguise to the less-than-bright senshi." She proudly gesture to her ribbon, lifting her skirt in a proud girly gesture that was often seen of girls. "It is a shame I lack in the magical power department. But I suppose I do well enough with my weapon of choice." She switched topics, her curiosity getting the better of her. "You called yourself Serenity when we first met? I'm afraid I'm quite ignorant to the situation.. You despise the senshi and make a truce to the negaverse? What sort of situation are you aiming for, exactly?" Serandite questioned, knowing that she might not get an answer from Usagi. But both of them needed information and it was possible to have a sort of information swap.
This was happening on the mile walk upon reaching the lake, the flickering flame slowly identified as they neared the off scenery.
"It looks like.. something out of Hercules." Serandite commented with widened eyes, disney references used often, the calm waters of the lake looking suspiciously serene.. tempting them to come forth. Serandite would have liked to swim-- but they didn't have time for leisurely pleasures.

A tea party? Blanche had been imbibing great amounts of the southern comfort sweet tea lately, but it had been a very long time since she'd actually had a cup of the hot and bitter stuff she was so used to from Japan. Though her lips curved in an eager smile, her mind shied back from the idea, reminding the princess of what happened the last time she took a drink from somoene she had trusted too soon. There wouldn't likely be any party anytime soon.
They were walking the path, and the mention of her princess name made the smile fade a bit and she shook her head. "It is not a secret, I despise everyone. Do not take it personally, it's not meant that way. My mother is dead. My father is dead. My friends are dead." She stopped for a moment, piercing Serandite with a gaze full of grief and loneliness. "The pain I feel, I do not want any other to feel. Wiseman will help it all go away. We work with your queen to that end." Sighing and squaring her shoulders, the princess smiled and walked again, the lake appearing in front of her face.
The black was ominous, she knew that nothing good ever came in that inky color of night. The flame drew her gaze, and the tiny red speck piqued her curiosity. Could it perhaps be another apple? If nothing else, it was somewhere warm and out of the oppressive darkness. She was, however, loathe to go that close to the darkness. Who knew what lurked in its depths. "It reminds me of the shark movie. Jaws? Very scary. We should avoid getting too close, so that nothing grabs us. It might like pretty girls, and we are very pretty, are we not?" The smile was a bit tense and sharp, but nonetheless she was content to lead the way again, edging closer to the flame while never turning her back to the inky waters.
Knowing her luck, some tentacled beast from Hell would come raging out and eat them all. Black Lady may have wanted the death of herself and the whole world with her, but right now she had a score to settle. Prince Hector had done something to her, and she was determined now to find both him and her Wiseman. There would be no rest until that moment.

Drawing slightly closer, they could see that the red object on the retaining wall was an unlit candle, partly melted, nestled in a ring of its own wax at the base. Without getting closer, they wouldn't be able to see anything else.

Serandite had absolutely no clue what it must have felt like to have everyone you know to be dead. Friends.. family.. Everybody. She was certain that she never wanted to-- absolute isloation and despair-- you didn't need to experience it to have the certain knowledge that it was the worst scenario in the world. She supported Black Lady's cause.
"Oh. Jaws. That's a gruesome thought. You're right-- we don't want a shark attacking us. Or worse, the lochness monster. Pretty girls like us need to watch out." Serandite thought that Usagi was rather witty and certainly made a good friend. The two girls gathered closer to the flames, approaching the red candle.
"Ooh. It might be a good idea to take it. We could light it on the brazier to make our way through the darkness?" She suggested, stopping before the candle. Although.. if they touched it.. Would it set off a death trap of some sort?
