All the food seems to vanish as soon as she swallows, and she is ever seeking more food. A treesnake, unwisely on the ground, is a tasty snack; some sweet-tart berries are an excellent chaser. "You will see many things, I think, before you are through." Frenzy moves on, ever implacable.
"That doe." She tosses her head, proudly. "She said I should find her, when I am the best -- and now that I am the best, I will face the challenge of a long march through the swamp and back, and I will prove myself."

Again, Soul laughs softly. It seems to come easily enough for him, though he rarely laughs without cause. It's only that Frenzy is so very different from any doe he's ever met before. So fiery and full of temper and spirit. It draws him to her like a moth to the moon, if only out of sheer curiosity. His own temperament had always been so much calmer, so level and steady.
"I have seen many things." He nods. "And you may be right, there may be more for me to see, yet. I'm sure you will do fine. You're strong enough, it seems, to make such a trip. You don't seem easily dissuaded," he hides a small, teasing smirk as he turns his head back around to face forward while they walk. "Perhaps I will meet her there, this doe."

Frenzy's will is, seemingly, indomitable. "I have never yet met an obstacle that could not be overcome. The Motherfather is fair; nothing is insurmountable." She has climbed, and jumped, and run, and headbutted, and planned her way through life.
"I have no doubt that you will. I do not think she will overlook your presence, or mine." And she was looking forward to proving her worth to the doe whose pale eyes and sarcastic words had pushed her onward.

"I believe you," he smiles at her, though it looks closer to a smirk than anything. "You're not like any other doe I've met before. Not that I've really met many does... let alone many kimeti. My travels take me too far, for too long, and rarely have I passed another. But even so..." He shrugs and glances at her.
"I do not think so either. Motherfather has always been fair, if not always the most predictable. You will do fine."

"Flattery will get you nowhere, and I do not seek your approval," she answers with a sniff, flicking one white-dappled ear, "but they are appreciated." It's the closest to gracefully accepting a compliment that she will come, and then only because Soul Drift is just as amusing. Another solitary wanderer -- what were the chances that they would meet?

That laugh rolls out of him again, pleasantly surprised and amused. "And so you caught me. Still, it's not idle flattery. You really are different, and I do think you capable of making it, even if I just met you." He shrugs a little. "I've seen the harshness that the Swamp has to offer, and I've seen what happens to the weak and fool-minded. I believe you to be neither. You will do fine, and you are welcome."

"You are as wise as you seem. I would expect you to have a gray beard." It was mildly approving, if tinted with sarcasm. "I am like no other in this swamp -- I am no empty-headed flirt or self-indulgent hedonist. I will survive it." She simply would.

"Haha... no, that you do not seem to be. There are other wise and strong kimeti out there. I can't say I've ever run across one I would call a fool, though a few were perhaps a touch too naive for their own good. Not that I can blame them. It's not bad to be naive, at least so long as they do not wander too far into the unknown. Though I imagine those such as they have no desire to do so, in any case. Not like you, or like me."

"No, indeed. It is better that they stay where the Motherfather provides all within easy reach. Their philosophy has a place -- but not in my world." Frenzy was a predator, a hunter; a quick flicker of movement meant prey, and a snap of powerful jaws. But whenever she caught meat or fish, she shared it with the snake draped around her neck. "What's the name of that feathery, squawky songbird?" she asked, tilting her head up at Soul's songbird.

"Oh, him? That's just Spectre," he laughs a bit, and hums a low note. The bird circles lower before perching on one of his horns, feathers flapping a bit before it settles. "He's my companion when the times are with less companionable. The crane there is Pearlsong."
He tilts his head at the snake around Frenzy's neck, "And what do you call your friend there?"

"Jaws." She snorts, amused, as the bird perches on his horn. "I found him some time ago. We fought over a fish, and he sank those teeth into my shoulder before I pinned him. He's followed me ever since." And she was actually rather fond of him, judging by the way she shared her kills with him.

"That's.... different," he arches a brow and just shakes his head. "Spectre found me one day when I was singing by myself. I'd heard a songbird for a few days, sometimes singing along with me, but I didn't know it was the same one until he just came down one day out of the blue and perched on my head like he'd always belonged there." He laughs a bit at the memory. "I found Pearlsong hurt from some sort of predator. He was already recovering pretty well but after I offered him one of my fish well... he's just stuck with me ever since. They're good companions to have."

"Jaws is a fighter." She bares teeth at the snake and he bares an impressive set of fangs back. "They seem very worthy companions. Jaws is like me -- he likes fish. We make a good team when hunting." More than enough to fill the belly of an ordinary kimeti, but Frenzy? Frenzy can probably eat half her weight in food a day, and yet her aggressive hunting and tendency to chase tasty-looking things means that she isn't fat and lazy. "When you reach the coast, will you just wander? Until another dream finds you?"

Soul nods his head and hums softly in agreement at the watersnake. At the question, he turns his head a bit to regard Frenzy, a small smile teasing at his mouth. "Perhaps... I never know when I'll see another dream, but it's a ways yet to the Ocean, I'd imagine. Besides.... it's nice to travel in company again. As much as I don't really mind the solitude, spending time with such a lovely doe is certainly an improvement."

"Flattery again." But the way she tosses her head seems pleased. Flattery isn't always bad, after all. "Then I might well say that it's my pleasure to travel with a buck who is so wise and self-aware."
