"Ta be honest wit ya I dunno if I even wanna learn, like I said. Swimmin' isn't useful for a Tanner 'cause we don't go out in the waters whenever we see 'em. I mean, swimmin' could be useful I was was gonna be stayin' here at the Weyr but like I said I dunno if we are or not. My brother decides that an' all."
Ofelia crossed her arms a bit as she watched the other girl swim around her. It would taste a lie for her to say that swimming didn't look cool, but to the Tanner it indeed was very impractical. Why swim? She wasn't swimming in the sands at Igen, that's for sure.
"I wanna go and see if there are Eggs and such here yet. Do you know if there are on the sands and whatever?"

"Nah, no eggs on the sands right now," Gabriel replied, settling for standing before the woman rather than continuing to swim around. "Trust me though, you'll know when the next mating flight takes place. It's a very big thing." And quite cool to watch too. At least for the short time that one could actually see the dragons. The rest of the time after that... Well, sometimes a cold bath was in order. "I do hope you and your brother at least stick around for the next Hatching. How many times would you ever get to see dragons hatch a Tannerhall, right?"

"Flights should be fun ta watch? Do ya all jus'....get around in a spot an' watch the skies? I've heard rumors an' all about what happens during Flights from some of the people who come back from bein' Candidates. I dunno if it matters to me or not though, I won't be here long."
Ofelia had said she wasn't interested in swimming, but she was moving around in the water. Puck was chirping on her head with the motions, unsure of what was going on, but neither was unhappy or uncomfy.
"We never see eggs at the Hall, hardly even dragons. I can count the number of 'em I've seen before comin' here on one hand. Not that it's a bad thing either ya know, cause we get done what we need done."

"If you feel like watching, then sure. If not then you go about your business," Gabriel replied with a light shrug. "They happen all the time here after all, so it's not like we watch every single one. And I don't doubt whatever 'rumors' you might have heard to be true." She giggled lightly. "Mating flights have surprising strong effects on those nearby."
She watched as Ofie treaded water, not really paying attention to the second part of what she said. "Why don't you just give swimming a try?" she asked again. "Even if you can't use it at the hall, at least you can have some fun with it while you're here."

"Puck, go up and on yer way. I'll see ya later."
The girl moved deeper into the water and the Green flitter darted up and between, the command easily followed. Ofelia wasn't really trying to learn how to swim, more or less just how to not drown should she ever fall into a body of water. This whole 'treading' thing wasn't that hard if she didn't struggle too hard, though now her top was fully soaked to her body and, if she noticed, much of her bosom was showing through. She was with another girl and hardly modest to begin with so she wasn't bothered.
"Am...I...doin' this right?"
Talking and treading was hard.

“Well, you’re not drowning, so I would venture a yes,” Gabriel said with a small laugh. “Come this way a bit, will ya? It’s not safe to get too deep when you’re still learning.
As the two girls were returning to shallower waters, two large brown dragons appeared in the sky not too far from them. They both watched in awe as they landed and splashed their way into the water for a swim. "Wow, handsome browns. Can't say that I've ever been in the lake while dragons were swim-- where are you going?"

"Over to the dragons, o'course. Never seen one this close before and I dunno if they'd mind the company. Never hurts to ask and see, right? I thought all you Candidates would be interested in that~"
Ofelia somehow managed to get through the water and over to the dragons, her motions strange and kicking. It was with a whoop that she got the attention of the older looking (were it possible) Brown, who in turn puffed some air at her.
This was amazing!
"Hello Dragons~!! My name is Ofelia!"
