He really just couldn't wait anymore. Pattin was getting to the point where he paced his home daily and always peeked out of the windows whenever he even felt like someone had come into his yard. Because there was still no Clea.

Was she okay? Was she even coming? Even if she wasn't should he check on her? It was his fault after all that she was in this situation. Pattin groaned as he quickly packed a small satchel and swung it over his shoulder. He'd just have to go check.

With one last look around his tree home the cattaur started moving through the woods towards Clea's home.

Clea had chosen the location of her home simply because it was the furthest away from any kind of life at all. Except for her plants, she was alone, and it took nearly a days travel to see a path at all.

What was once a blessing was now a curse.

Her two satchels hung heavily from her sweating form, shifting as her babies did. Where was that good for nothing man? Oh, right....Well, he should have been here anyway!

Clea stumbled, cursing before she toppled down again with a shriek. "No, no, no! ARGH!" Her favorite candle, a gift from her brother Armaeo, took off rolling down the hill. She slammed her fist onto the ground and growled. When she saw Pattin he was soooo going to get it. He'd be lucky if she didn't neuter him.

Worry about where Clea might actually be made Pattin cheat. Tendrils of mist spread out over the forest floor as vines and other plant life sleepily stirred from their normal positions. The male frowned in concentration before taking off at a run down some unmarked path - if it was even a path at all.

Was he wrong? Pattin looked around wildly as he found himself astounded by this new possibility. Could he really be lost in a forest? Where plants called out to him and trees had once always pointed in the right direction?

"No. This has to be the right way." He whispered before forcing himself to take several more steps towards the hill. Clea had to be somewhere in this direction - his magical senses screamed it. A scream made the cattaur jump to action. Clea!

Creeping vines wrapped around some mysterious object that had been rolling down the hill and carried it up the hill towards where the sounds had come from. With a deep breath Pattin followed it and watched as the vines let go of a candle - right in front of Clea.

Clea attempted to stand, then felt a pain and sat back down. She placed a hand on her side with a sigh, rolling her eyes up to the sky. One thing she could have lived her entire life without ever knowing was the 'joys' of pregnancy. Her mother was such a liar.

When she looked down down, she jumped up with a curse. "What the hell?!" Naturally, she was angry at her own abilities for doing this, until she read the magic and knew it wasn't hers. Curiously, Clea picked up the candle and looked around her a little closer before her sharp eyes spotted a familiar figure.

"Uh huh. A little late, huh?" She murmured with a click of her tongue. Clea bounced the candle up once, twice, before chucking it at Pattin.

"Cle-" The candle hit the male cattaur in the shoulder and Pattin let out an 'umph' of surprise. What? "La-late?" He gasped before pointing at her, "I told you to come and you were the one to take your time! If I'd wanted I could have just stayed at and not even worried 'bout you like I did! So I left to come and check on you." He managed to argue before concern for Clea took over.

This wasn't a time for fighting.

"So-sorry. Are you okay? Can you make it to my home?" The questions kept flowing out as he approached her. Though -he rubbed his shoulder, she really had plenty of energy.

Clea huffed, snarling as she put her other hand on her hip to complete the package. "Oh, so now I'm supposed to come whenever you snap your fingers? Listen here, mister, I had a life before this-" She vaguely motioned to her stomach. "-and it wasn't that easy to close it all up."

She shook her head, blowing out an irritated huff before slowly standing up, paws spread out. Her usual energy didn't stay around as long as it usually did. Right now, she felt like taking a nap, which further irritated her. "I'm fine, just a little tired. Do you....do you think you can carry my things? Their heavy."

"I know, I know." Pattin shook his head and held up his hands for peace, "I'm sorry. I should have taken better care of things. I'll make up for it, promise." His gaze went from her face to her stomach before he looked sheepishly at the ground. Truthfully he hadn't expected her to stay home this long. She must have really hated the thought of having to live with him and had put it off as long as possible.

"Of course." Pattin's reached for her belongings and slung a satchel over his shoulder before looking back at Clea. Hmm. Dropping the bags for the vines weaving below his paws, the male held out his arm to Clea. "Mind having me help escort you? The path can get rough." He asked softly.

Clea flipped her ears back in shame and took a deep breath to steady herself. Her mother had tried her best to teach her tolerance, but it seemed she would be eternally ignorant. Pattin deserved better.

"Like it hasn't been already?" She snipped teasingly, taking his arm, putting more weight on him than she meant to. Pregnancy was a rough condition, and every little bit of energy she got was sucked away by the leeches in her stomach.

"Ah." The cattaur blushed sheepishly at her meaning before bearing her weight. Gritting his teeth, Pattin made a mental note to himself to work out more rather than spending so much time reading. He smiled at her, "Don't worry I've got you." As if in agreement the vines started to move beneath their paws gently bouncing her bags down the trail in front of them. Though physically he wasn't the strongest, faint strands of earth magic came off the cattaur in waves.

Sensing the magic he was eminating, Clea's own vines responded and reached to decorate the path. She leaned up against Pattin for most of the trip back to his tree home, and couldn't have been happier to be there than if she had time magic.

The cattaur broke away from Pattin and leaned up against the tree, covering her yawn with the back of her hand. Somewhere along the line she had gotten extremely tired, picked up energy, wanted a bowl of celery broth, and went back to being tired. "Do you have any celery and honey? I'm starving."

"Celery and honey?" Pattin repeated thoughtfully as he observed the vines carrying in Clea's belongings, "I believe I have some." Tail twitching he went inside and started for the kitchen.

"They dropped your bags off by the stairs." He called out to her, "There's a room there for you, that way you don't have to worry about climbing the stairs. If there's something else you need, just let me know and I'll get it set up for you." The kitchen was silent until a loud crash sounded through the tree, "Ah! Found it."

"I hope so." She stretched her arms above her head with another yawn. Even her voice was slightly slurred.

Clea walked cautiously into the house, looking around at her prison for the next few months. The only things she could look forward too were sore breasts and screaming babies. How pleasant. "How thoughtful," She murmured sarcastically, sticking her head into the room for a peep. She jumped when she heard the crash. Something about it was so endearing that instead of shoot out a sharp retort, she actually smiled.

Morning sunlight flickered in with a green hue through the leaves of Pattin’s tree home. Yawning the male cattaur stirred in his hammock of sorts before finally rolling out with a light flop onto the vines which waited to catch him. Rubbing his eyes the cattaur literally had to remember why he woke up with such a nervous yet happy feeling yet again. Ah. As the plant life stirred around him, not only happy with his earth magic but that of another he was reminded. Clea. The name brought a smile to his lips. She was the reason he was so borderline happy and nervous all the time. “How am I supposed to last?” He joked lightly running his hands through his hair. It had only been three days since she came in weary and obviously…pregnant.

His children. The thought thrilled and scared him. Not because he was afraid of the kits to come, but rather afraid of the decision resting on them. Would she stay or leave? His gaze darkened for a second as he headed down towards the base of his home where the kitchen was. He couldn’t force her to stay…Pattin sighed. What a mess he had started. But he was determined to see it through to the end. “But for now…” Digging through the wooden shelves the cattaur hummed lightly to himself to chase away the worries, “Breakfast.”

Habits were hard to break, and so it was before the sun had risen that Clea was already finishing up her morning routine. She'd gotten out of the tree house for a while for a short walk, not daring to go far on the off handed chance that she was spotted. It felt good to stretch her legs, especially since they cramped up so much easier now. Learning to sleep in a hammock was...odd. She much preferred her moss bed.

Coming back inside had taken a lot more guts than she had thought. She was dreading being indoors, dreading getting bigger, but also...excited. Spending time with Pattin wasn't as horrible as she thought at first, even if it did still mess with her head.

As she walked into the kitchen to get a drink, she noticed a certain someone was already there. Without saying a word, she slipped around him to try to get a drink of water.

Cooling off the embers of fire the cattaur tossed another round shape from the pan to the plate. There. He had been so occupied cooking, however, that he hadn’t realized the shift in the room as another presence had entered. So when he felt the faintest of brushes against his fur the startled cattaur nearly tossed the pan away before quickly catching it again. Sheepishly he moved forward and looked over at the female, “Morning Clea.”

Constantly feeling how close they were to each other in the small area Pattin quickly dropped the pan in a bucket of water before reaching for the full plate and carrying it over to the table. “If you want I made pancakes.” He looked back over at her quizzically. Had she already been out for a walk again? The plants were stirring a lot that morning…it would explain it then. “If you want-“ He paused to glance at her with a small smile, “I have to head out for a bit today if you want to tag along. But nowhere outside of the forest. It’s a more secret spot for just me usually.”
