"Felt yours?" Elegancia stared at Devi briefly with incredulous eyes. Maybe she got the wrong idea over the gift-- Elegancia just liked to buy nice things for poor people. That was all!
"Ah. Ahaha. Ahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!!" Elegancia's face went from a standard shade of red to beet red. Her raucous display of laughter may have been unbecoming, but she couldn't help it-- this girl claimed to not be a lesbian, but she openly offered her a grope? How contradictory and awkward!!
"No, no, thank you. I do not think I'll be taking you up on the offer, although maybe you'll find a girl sometime who will indulge you in such things." She turned her back to Devi, strutted towards an exit, but turned her head back. "I'm sure those pumps will help you score a new girlfriend."

Devi was at the peak of embarrassment. Several of the shop patrons and the clerk were all staring at her judgmentally. She tried to hide her face as she took off the pumps, picked up her own shoes, put them back on and tried to make her way out of the store without crying. She made it halfway out before the tears started flowing, and at that point she found herself sprinting out of the store in shame.
There was a reason Devi so rarely went to the mall.
