It happens with pretty much anyone and everyone who causes unnecessary amounts of drama.

Cig was the girl from back in 2003/2004 who claimed she had brain cancer to scam the community as a whole into pooling donations to get her an angelic halo. That was when Gaia was really small and for a few months it brought the community together and everyone was really bonding over it and had little paper cranes in their signatures and everything- then when it came out that it was a scam (she let it slip to someone) the community proceeded to blow up about it. I think it was after she'd gotten the halo, but I don't really remember. People were posting pictures of destroyed paper cranes in their signatures and flaming everywhere- it was terrible D;

xD I think I've heard about that before, just didn't really know the name associated with it. That's pretty sad though.

Without drama, where are the lulz? xD

I should tell you aaaaall about Gaia Personals feature that no longer exists 8D!

You know when you look at the map of Barton on the world map or wander Barton in zOMG- that building with the pink heart on it with LOVE written on it? That used to link to the personals feature which had four options in it, as illustrated here:



You clicked on these and it would take you to a board where you could browse or post ads for interest looking for friendship or romance.

I don't think you could respond here- 'responding' would send the poster a PM response.

A lot of the ads were innocent enough, but it was attracting less than reputable adults and causing all kinds of problems.

It would be funnier if it weren't so sad.

Back in the day, there were no arenas :3

I don't remember much about the old rating system, it was kinda.... more based on popularity than anything, moreso than the current system is and I didn't really use it.
