Faita was going along, and stopped to share a joke with his fellow companion, Kanin. They both shared a laugh, the joke involved an old hobo shooting someone, but then were startled by a knife whizzing by their heads. The startling of Faita threw Kanin off of his shoulders, into a tree behind him where the knife barely missed its head
"My friend! are you okay??" He screamed, but could not worry about the fluff for too long, as he knew a battle was about to commence. Before he could even turn his head back towards him, a feint image of the woman appeared before him. He knew it was a fake, he had seen it before. But what came next? What would she do?
Next thing he knew, a foot was coming from his left, and about to collide with his face.
"No, you've already hit my face once today, that's quite enough!", as he tried to duck from the kick, but ended up slipping. He had lost his footing on the very small branch, and his shift of weight had broken it. Down he fell, almost thirty feet all the way to the ground, snapping many branches along the way. He expected a large pain on the ground any second now, but it didn't come. He was almost levitating.
"Haha, you sneaky one you, thankyou, Kanin!" his little fritter had caught him somehow, and put him upright, handing him his sword, "No, Kanin, this is not one whom I wish to do any battle against. She may have her way with me, if I am unable to defend, then run for your life. I wish no harm on you."
And he readied in a defensive battle stance, sword still in sheath, checking all directions for this swift woman whom he could not harm.

Raines' kick had completely missed the target. The thief had ducked. And in the process of doing so, he broke the branch he stood on. She quickly angled her body towards the trunk of the tree. Using both of her legs, she pushed herself away from tree. Had she not done that, she would have had quite a rough landing.
Mid air, she plumeted to the ground, face first. About ten feet short of contact, she flipped her body around. She hit the ground on all fours, and was now looking down. When she looked up, she was surprised to find the thief on his feet. Quickly placing her hand on the hilt of her weapon, she removed it from her sheath. She now held it straight in front of her. Blade pointing towards her 'foe'. He had his weapon in his hands.
"So, you thought you could follow me all the way out here to get your hands on my gold again, did you?!

Faita looked up, and saw the woman standing there. She had made an almost perfect landing, and was already unsheithing her blade to strike him with. She made a comment towards him wanting her gold again, and he took it quite offensive.
"WHAT!?!? No, no, no no no, you have me all wrong, ma'am. I am not here to take your gold again, but just to find out where you might be heading." He tried to say it in a way that didn't make him sound like a stalker, but there was no way which he could think of to execute this matter.
"I do not wish to fight, just to ask a few simple questions. I have taught myself over the years not to hit a lady, and now that I have met one of your stature, there is no way I can break my vow." he put a small smile on his face, and tried to look happy, but he couldn't. How could he, for he knew he was about to engage in combat with this woman? He worried for his friend's life, the small little ball of fluff he was given so long ago meant so much to him, almost more than his own life. It had befriended him, and so far had been his only friend since his master passed away many years ago.
He signaled for Kanin to go hide, and come out when the time was right with just a twitch of his index finger, and he prepared for what could be the fight of his life - one in which he could not fight back.

"Stalker!" she screamed at the top of her lungs. Not gonna hit a lady, huh? She would just have to see about that. Would he hold his vow, even if one was attacking him? She gripped her sword with both hands. She got into position. Holding her single edged sword on the left side of her body, her grip on the hilt clearly stated 'I'm a righty'.
((Don't ask why I added it, just go with it.))
In the same many she used to get up into the tree, she pushed off the ground with her left leg. Her leg had enough strength in it, so that she was now slightly airborn. He peak height was probably only a foot and a half, but she was coming at him, full force.
No coming at him in a slight downward motion. Her sword, now slightly behind her, was getting tugged forward. A slight downward horizontal cut. Could he stop it in time? Or was she the last person he would ever loot?
((Find out next time on "As the World Turns" xd ))

When she called him a stalker, he knew he could not comment back, she had made up her mind on what he was now. No matter how hard he would try, he could not change her mind. He noticed how she was gripping her sword, it told him that she was right handed. He had faced so many opponents in the past, that he had memorized the tendencies of a right-handed fighter. Infact, he remember a fighter he fought not too long ago that almost resembled what she fought like, or what he thought she fought like. From her position, since he had gathered she had amazing speed, he thought she would kick off with one of her legs, most likely her left, and come straight for him.
Sure enough, she started to bend her knees a small amount, almost unnoticeable. He saw it, and her left leg shot her forward with amazing speed, and her blade in her right hand, as her grip on her sword earlier had told him. He simply took his sword, which was still in its shieth, and put it slightly to his right, as he stepped to the left. Simple enough.. now what's next... as she heard her clash with his shieth. The cover would not break easily, it was a special material, but he could tell from the sound that it just may have a dent now.

He blocked. He seemed to react before she even moved. Was he reading her movements?
Her sword bounced off his sheath with a loud 'ting'. The rebound sent it closer to her body. How did he react so quickly? She had a theory, but she didn't have time to think it through right now. Both feet hit the ground. She moved quickly. She took one step foward, with her left. Then spun around clockwise on the her heel. This gave her enough momentum, so that if he did manage to block, it would knock him over. As she spun, she extended her right arm. By the time she was facing him again, her sword was straight out. She had no idea what to expect of him as she spun.

He stood there, with a smirk on his face. Just as he thought, she was in a bit of shock. To his best measure, he guessed in his head that she wasn't blocked very often. He had a perfect opportunity to attack her lower part of her leg, but couldn't, he had a vow to keep true to. He just kept quiet, and continued to observe. He quickly retracted his sword and sheith back to his body, ready for her next move.
She seemed to take a step forward, and looked like she was ready to spin. He had not seen this sort of thing too often, but he knew what to do. When she reached about a quarter of the way through her skin, he unsheithed his blade, throwing the case forward, and stuck his blade straight into the ground, and then jumped straight into the air. as her blade came around, it hit his blade, and it went flying. She was temporarily stopped, and he came down on the blade, pressing it into the dirt, trying to get it stuck. He then jumped off of her sword, before she could do anything about him, and landed in front of her.
Almost immediately, Kanin had retrieved both his sword and sheith for him, and he was holding his sword in its case in front of him, ready for anything if she wanted to continue.
"I told you, I won't fight you."
((blehh, these seem to get worse and worse everytime.))

Raine found what came as a shock to her. Her target was now an unsheathed sword. And what of her initial target?
Her sword hit the one embeded in the ground. Another loud ting noise could be heard from a fair distance. Again, her weapon bounced back ever so slightly. The force of her blow sent his weapon flying forward, where it would meet with the ground once again.
Suddenly, she felt her weapon jerk downwards. Two feet had landed on her blade, pushing it into the ground. Then pushing away, he jumped again. Instead of fighting to get her good blade from the ground, she pulled the other one from it's sheath. Before he could say anything, she was on the move again. 'I won't fight you.' It was too late to stop herself now. She had swung at a vertigal angle, moving upward, from the left side.

Faita had almost no reaction time. He was looking at his little friend, making sure he got off to safety. Next thing he knew, there was a sword about to slice up the whole right side of his body. He started to move left, but the sword had made contact. By the time he had moved all the way over, his arm felt like it had been skinned. He reached over and felt his arm, and sure enough, his hand came back covered in blood. This isn't worth it... nothing's worth this effort.. he said to himself, as visions started coming through his mind. He envisioned his master, redoing his annual ceremony of the dead to make sure he never forgot his parents. He remembered coming home one day, and finding his master brutally slain, and all that was left in the temple was a sword in a sheith, the one he uses today. He remembered everytime he tried to steal something just so he could live, but most importantly, he remembered his only friend he ever had(he would not consider his master his friend, rather he said he was his very own father). He remembered the bunneti, Kanin. I have wasted this life...
"I am so sorry, Kanin..." as he dropped to his knees, putting his head forward, "I will not fight back, and you will not stop, so just end it now."

Silence. That was all that could be heard now. Raine was left on the ground, in a crouched position. Her right arm, grasping her slightly blood soaked weapon, was at a diagonal direction. It remained there after her last attack, until she realised he was telling the truth about not fighting back. Her slowly retracted her arm, and replaced her weapon in it's sheath.
"Why?" she began to question. "Why didn't you fight back? What did you follow me out here for, if you weren't here to ambush me?!"
She looked at his right arm. She did do quite a number on it. She would offer him help. It was the least she could do. But not until she got her answers.
(Really short....and late, but better then nothing.)

He was breathing rather heavily. Shocked at the fact he still could move every limb on his body, and his head was still attached to his torso, he lifted himself up to answer her question.
"Y--- you see, it is a very complicated thing" he said, as his arm brushed a tree as he walked around, and he smiled to hide the pain, "I cannot explain it exactly, but I can tell you that something about you intrigued me when I first laid eyes on you."
He was starting to blush now, so he turned around, and tried to act like a man of wisdom, pacing back and forth without making eye contact with the mistress.
"And why didn't I fight back?" He restated her question, with a bit of a laugh, "I told you already, I cannot hit a girl. It is against my morals."
Kanin came out of nowhere and jumped on his left shoulder, and suprisingly enough, it eased the pain in his right arm. He was very happy for it.
"Now, if you'll excuse me, I guess I'll be on my way. I am terribly sorry for interfering with your journey," as he started to scan the grounds, to figure out which way was out of this forest.

Raine watched as he lifted himself off the ground. As he attempted to explain himself, he began to pace. This gave her the oppurtunity to stand up. The next few words took her by surprise. When he told her that he was attracted to her, she instantly looked away, turning her back to him. What was she hiding? A beat red face. It was disgraceful for her to show such a thing, what with being an elite warrior.
As he continued to speak about not hitting woman, she just closed her eyes. As she stood, she had this terrible gut feeling. Like something bad was about to happen. She didn't know what it was, but with being half elf, that sort of feeling came natural to her. And it was always true.
Just when he gave his que to leave, she opened her eyes again. "Wait!" she protested.
"Perhaps you would be so kind...As to escort me home." She turned around and faced him again. She looked as though she forced herself to ask, and almost hesitant to accept his help. "It's almost night fall. A forest is not a place for a lady....Right?"
This feeling she was getting was deffinatly bad. She did not want to be alone when the axe fell.
Meanwhile, a dark shadow watched from above... -------------------------------------------------------------------- A twig snapped. Did she hear it? Perhaps. But she seemed to show no sign of alert. Things were working perfectly. Soon, he would be able to strike. But wait... Was she inviting him to join her? That would prove to be troublesom, but nothing he couldn't handle. He was quite confident that he could handle his mission quite well. Curio would be pleased.

As he started to walk away from the scene, he started to think to himself, god, I made it awfuly obvious that I like her... I'm such an idiot.... He heard her ask him to stop walking, so he slowly turned around, head still hung.
When he heard the news about her wanting an 'escort', as happy as he was inside, he couldn't help but notice that it looked as if she didn't want the escort.
"You're right, this is no place for a lady," he wanted to help her so bad, but she did not want to help her out of her pity for him, "but I'm sure you can find your way back on your own. Afterall, you have displayed a rather large... disinterest towards me, and it is puzzling me why all of a sudden you have a change of heart."
At the same time as he started to turn around, a twig hit his foot. He looked above, and saw nothing. Too much of nothing
"On the other hand," he started to say, "maybe I will join you, it IS starting to get rather dark." And he started to smile as he walked to her side. He couldn't help but think where his friend has gone, also, Kanin just all of a sudden disappeared.
"Lead the way, I shall follow."

Raine looked around. Something didn't seem right to her. There seemed to her that their was someone nearby. Someone watching. But she didn't feel anyone elses' prescense. There was now extra aura to prove this. She felt the strange creatures aura moving about. But she thought nothing of it.
Still. Something just didn't seem right. But that didn't matter right now. It was time to get out of this forest. The sun had almost set. Another hour and it would be night fall. She walked over to where her weapon lay on the ground. Returning it to it's sheath, she looked back at him. He was still bleeding.
"I'm guessing you can't heal yourself." she said as she began to approach him. "You're lucky I'm nice."
As she walked over to him, she slowly rose her left hand. When she finally stood next to him, she placed her middle and index fingers on the wound that she left. Within a moment, it had completely healed. The only sign of a wound was the blood that still dripped down his arm. She simpley took a clothe from her bag, and wiped his arm.
"I did that too you. I might as well have fixed it." She then looked him in the eye, and smiled. "By the way, I didn't catch your name."

He started to blush even more now that she was being so nice to him. He couldn't get it out of his mind where the twig came from, or where Kanin went, but right now, it was all pushed to the back as she touched his arm. She... she's touching me... he thought to himself, he didn't know why but he was very intrigued by this. It took almost all his power to focus on what she was saying, and to get out an answer
"Th - thank you," he was struggling for words, "Faita is my name. Well, the last name given to me that I can remember."
Memories of his past started to flow through his head, but he couldn't let it take him over.
Another twig fell, this time to their right. He only let his eyes trail, trying not to let her, or whatever was making the twigs fall know that he saw the past two mistakes.
"We should probably get going, if you so wish we could talk later, but I'm getting a bad feeling about this forest," he started to walk, grabbing her hand ever so gently, he didn't know how much anger he still had that he was actually struck, "Let's go, please."
