Wounds should always heal, yes, but they were far more troubling then dirty fur. Keena watched with concern as the white lion moved out of the pool, glad to see that his injuries were, at the least, clean. And since he was moving, gingerly but still moving, she hoped he was at least feeling a bit better.
She padded out of the water, giving her fur a good shake to help dry it before she drew closer to him again. "My name is Keena," she replied, "I'm glad I could help, even though it was just a little." She moved to sit not to far from him, though she was conscious of giving him plenty of personal space. She would only leave now if he asked her to, otherwise she'd stay and make sure he healed. Injured like that hunting would be a very literal pain, and she didn't mind hunting for two either.
Besides, even just a little company might help distract him when he'd nothing to do but wait for the pain to cease, the poor thing. Spenta. Who would do this to someone she didn't know, it was upsetting enough without witnessing such a troubled creature as would inflict injuries like this on another for any reason.

"Keena," he spoke, letting her name roll off of his tongue. She was a lovely girl, he thought to himself idly. Helpful and caring to even a stranger. "I am lucky that you found me. I would've likely been picked apart by vultures if you'd not come along." He smiled as much as he could, lips sore, but he wanted to show her gratitude for the kindness she'd bestowed upon him.
"If you have someplace to be, Keena, I should be able to move about now." He paused, crimson eyes warm. "Of course, should you want to keep this poor battered lion company for a bit..." Spen trailed off, moving over to the collection of bedding he'd collected days before. "I'd love your company."
And he would. He always enjoyed the company of kind beings. He was feeling much better now, still bruised and weak but more like himself.

"I'd be happy to keep you company," Keena said softly, "I don't need to be anywhere else for a while at least. And you could probably use a bit of help getting back on your paws..."
Hopefully he wasn't offended by that last statement. She knew some people were touchy about 'weakness', she didn't want to bother anybody. But Spenta...he seemed nice. And he needed her. Perhaps not badly, but she would certainly make a differnece by helping him.
Wasn't that all that mattered? Making a little bit of the world even just a little bit better?
"I'd be happy to catch some breakfast in the morning, if you want to rest now. You might feel better after a sleep?"

Spen settled himself onto the bedding, giving her a sleepy nod. "That would be wonderful," he whispered, aching muscles protesting at his movements. "I am tired." It was obvious in his limp tail and the weary look in his eyes.
He did not seem offended in the least by her words, instead it only made him feel increasingly thankful to her... it was almost as if she was his guardian angel, sent by the Gods to watch over him in his time of need.
Crimson eyes closed and he was asleep almost instantly, an almost inaudible, "Thank you." whispering past his lips as he drifted into the blissful comfort of sleep.

Keena smiled as the white lion curled up to go to sleep. He looked like he would get better, she was so glad. She hated seeing people hurt or in pain. But at least Spenta let her help him, she felt worse when there was nothing she could do.
Maybe it was selfish of her. But she liked it when she thought she might've made some manner of difference for someone's life. It was an amazing feeling.
"Sleep well..." she murmured, settling down nearby herself. She might not be ready for sleeping yet, but the lioness was content to rest and wait, watching the clouds chase over the sky and listening to the soft sigh of the wind across the grass. He would get better again. She would make sure of that.
((Think it's finished?))
