*shrugs* I'm trying to stay out of the issue and not pick a side.
The thing is, the Gaia artist who made the Bento Bunny item was aware of her work, and was aware that they were making an item just like it. (So said the journal before it was deleted.) I think that's where the issue gets tangled.
My issue lies with the existing Bento Bunnies. I expect the bento bunnies to be returned to the CS as is, or in some other form. If that doesn't happen, I don't think it's fair for Gaia to not do anything about the existing Bento Bunnies. If the item gets removed for copyright issues, then it's not right if some of those items still remain on the site as is.

I doubt they'll get pulled for copyright issues. It's not an original concept, really. You can search 'onigiri bunny' and get dozens of things that look similar.

Like I said, they can't remove the ones already out.
Some legal thing, the only thing they can do is pay the artist for the ones they've already sold. But I doubt they will actually have to go to court over it.
and another reason they can't just give sc back for it is because some people did buy it through the bundle. Unless they have a specific formula for how much each item is reduced, you don't really know how much it specifically cost.

Yeah, i understand that they can't just remove the bento bunny and give people cash in return.
...Many people would have bought their Bento Bunny with gold from the marketplace. Then it would get down to, who gets the gold, who gets the cash... Big mess, can't happen.
I just think, that to be fair to everyone, we need a new 399c item for that bundle.
I want the fruitkerchief too. And, frankly, I don't mind the bundle being 749c now and not 999c. I don't use plushies, so I never wanted the Bento Bunny to begin with. So, now my fruitkerchief will cost less cash. :3
Thing is, the new bundle costs less, but it also doesn't give as good of a discount as before. You only save 49c for buying a bundle. At the current price, the bundle is an awful deal. Yes, it's still cheaper than buying separately and you get a bonus item. But~ it's just not as good of a deal as bundles usually are.
I did some math.
Separately, the old-bundle items cost 1198c.
The old-bundle was 999c.
That's ~16% savings.
Separately, the new-bundle items cost 798c.
The new-bundle costs 749c.
That's ~6% savings.
The bundle should cost around 670c to give the same deal it did before. But, nope.
That's where my issue lies. XD; I just like to get the most I can for the cash I spend.

I think they have preset prices that they set everything to.
1299, 999, 749, as examples- you never see anything between or around them. It's closer at lower prices (599, 499, 299, 250, 149, 49, 25) and so on.
You rarely see any deviations from this.

Yeah, I know they usually stick to the same sort of prices. And that 749 would be their best choice... but.. eh..
I saw that the bunny and the gourmet bundle are back up for sale. And they left the banquet bundle up also. :3
I'm happy. :}
Now I get to decide whether I want to spend less or suck it up and spend more for the better discount. XD; Stupid, I know. I'll probably go for the cheaper option, but I'm just happy to have the choice. :3

I've seen her DA gallery. I don't think she has an original idea anywhere on there and again, she WAS profiting from mini wings.
Just because it says re-released with her cooperation doesn't mean they're giving her anything.
