Nyx slowed to a stop, turned her head to look at nothing, then turned to Mau. "Has anyone really been far even as decided to use even go want to do look more like?" She stared at Mau, expecting some sort of answer before seeming to forget that she asked something and turned back around to continuing her shuffling.
Now it was questionable whether she knew where she was going or not. Maybe she THOUGHT she knew. After three days without sleep, who knew?

Mau blinked at her, worried and a little discouraged that she might not know where they really were going. "M... maybe I should lead. You really look terrible. And... Honestly I have no idea what you just said." He put a hand on her shoulder, and took the task of guiding them through the labs.
They reached a junction in the vents, some water dripping down from it.

"Raining... old men..." Nyx stared intensely at the dripping. It would probably be a good idea to never let the mad scientist go three days straight without sleep again.
"Ear to ground... hear the horses..." She stumbled sideways and pressed her ear up to the wall.

"You do that." He stepped away from Nyx a moment and felt the vent, listening to the sounds made from the metal. It was muffled and sloshy sounding. He walked down one way, and tapped the duct. Further, and tapped again. He walked down the other path of the junction and tapped.
"The water's coming from that way."

"Horses..." She threw her arms halfway up triumphantly and shuffled a bit faster than she had been, but now she was leaning sideways a little.
Eventually they came to a door. Nyx bumped up against the door.
"Locked..."

Mau bit back laughter. "There's this great invention called the doorknob. You should give it a try." He gently moved Nyx out of the way and grabbed the knob, turning and opening the door. Water washed out from of the door, and they were bombarded with bubbles.

"Oh no, the soap..." Nyx covered her face. "Too much soap... overload... machine..."
"Floon?" A little balloon floated around with the bubbles. Oh hey! It was his partner! He wondered where she'd run off to!

Mau swatted the bubbles away, and eyed the drifloon. He then stepped into the very moist room. A vaporeon was sleeping, bubbles streaming from it's mouth with each exhale. But... What...?
Mau's eyes were drawn to a clutch of eggs that Aki was curled around. "WHAT?!"

Nyx removed her hands from her face and gaped at the eggs. "Breakfast..." She shuffled towards Newton, grabbed him out of the air, and continued on over to the eggs.
"Coffee... eggs..." She pressed her back up against the wall, next to the Vaporeon, then slid down it. Once she was sitting she snuggled up next to the clutch of eggs and their... father? One arm draped over a cream colored egg and the other clutching Newton.
"Happy mother's day..." And she was out.

He was about to tell off Nyx that they were not breakfast, But the girl was already asleep, sitting in the water from Aki's snore bubbles. "Happy Mother's day indeed." He sighed. "Oh for Uxie's sake..." He shook his head and stepped over to the door and sat in the door frame. He was tired, and couldn't carry Nyx, Newton, and the eggs out of the room, but he wasn't about to leave Nyx alone with the eggs. So he sat there and closed his eyes.

Hours later Nyx sat up, stretched out her arms, and yawned. She looked around, mildly confused. Where was she? Why was she... damp? A quick glance at the floor answered that. The floor was covered with water and next to her was a Vaporeon wrapped around a clutch of eggs.
"What in the world happened here?"

At Nyx's voice, he opened one eye and looked at her. "Wild party. You were the life of the party too." He teased lightly. But then seriously,he told her "We found Aki and Newton... and eggs. I can only assume they belong to them... so maybe there really was a wild party." He thought a moment, but sighed.
Aki lifted his head and looked at Nyx, then the eggs, then Newton, and finally to Mau.

"Eggs? How? Aren't they both males? Where are we?" Nyx looked at the clutch of eggs and then between the two pokemon.
"Did someone mix frog dna with theirs? Newton, are you a girl now?" Nyx half-joked.
"Floon!" Newton looked irritated and made some lewd thrusting gesture. Nyx grimaced.

Mau was about to state Aki, at least, was a male, but he was cut off with laughter at newton's gesture. "I... never thought I'd see a balloon... pelvic thrusting." That pretty much broke Mau's mind right there.
"Va!" Aki chirped then nosed his eggs. Mau cleared his throat.
"Well... we are in the genetics lab... It's possible that someone... mixed their DNA as an experiment... and gave them the eggs? An experiment that wasn't approved maybe, and whoever did it doesn't want to be pinned as the mastermind behind this..."

"That must be it. Maybe some one practicing breeding procedures." Nyx stood up. Ugh, she hated having wet clothes. "Well. I'd say divide these equally, but there are three. So... Pick your egg? No use letting them go to waste."
She didn't wait for Mau to pick, she bent over and grabbed the brown and cream colored egg. "Mine!" She grinned. Newton seemed to approve.
