Azzo nodded, when Laocoon confirmed what he thought would be true of the senshi of smoke. He watched as the other was making a joke, he grinned slightly. "It is indeed a better motivation. I haven't really gotten into trouble since then... sans the star seed incident, but you know I got out of that one okay to."
He paused, "Which that puts a whole new twist on 'don't talk to strangers'." He gave a nod softly, "I guess I got lucky when the blue haired, black clad senshi showed up." He paused, looking thoughtfully. "Though I'm not sure when she got there, just when I woke up again she was hovering over me."
He left out the full details of that story, mainly because it was embarrassing he lost out to a runt. "But honestly, two on one? Dirty odds if you ask me."
He paused, "Sorry." He muttered, if he knew or if he thought he'd offended the other it wasn't quite sure. "I know things like that happen with the princes and princesses here... I know you hear about it ages afterwords to. Not the super hero ones, the political figures, that run countries." He said with a nod, "It's like the whole world cries even if we're not ruled by them."
He shook his head, "Cavalier?" He asked interest perking, "I've only heard about the Negaverse, which is why I was wondering if you were or not. Though... honestly I think the Negaverse is a bit of a joke. Plastic bow with suction cup arrows? What are they going to accomplish? Though the one with glowsticks was nice, he didn't try to take anything, instead he gave me a glowstick." Azzo nodded.
Azzo felt his body freeze for a second when Laocoon mentioned everyone wanted to be heroes in one way or another. Azzo did want to help, tracking youma he could do, he wasn't a senshi, he wasn't a cavalier, he wasn't a negaverse... He didn't know what he was, but he knew he didn't want to be in the way. He sighed, "I suppose... or at least have some control over their life."
His voice faded into a soft mutter, something akin to disdain and maybe slightly loathing. He didn't want to loath though, he just wanted to help. "Or at least be helpful..." He added after a bit of a silence that was thick enough in self-pity and loathing you could cut it with a knife. "Batman had Robin after all."

Ah, it looked like he had been right about the boy’s meeting with Helen. Fancy that. Did Dylan know his girlfriend was out patrolling the night, saving hapless boys from getting their star seeds ripped out? Probably. Dylan, and Alexandros, had always been good about knowing things even when people didn’t tell him. He had one of those faces that just compelled you to speak to him. (Laocoon blamed it on his eyes). Besides, she was a queen in her own right. Why should she worry about dealing with youma?
“Yup, that’s what they call us. Defenders of the righteous prince and all that. The real deal.” Laocoon clearly thought he knew what ‘the real deal’ was all about. The cavalier tipped his head when Azzo went on to describe Negaverse weaponry. Did they all run around with toys? How peculiar. Dylan had made it out to seem like their queen was really quite serious about all this Dark Kingdom business and yet she didn’t even give her soldiers proper weapons. He’d definitely have to mention this to the blonde. Even without being bonded, Kore still did damage, like any cavalier weapon. Perhaps in that respect the cavaliers would have an advantage over their negaverse opponents. Nothing cut quite like real steel.
Azzo’s change in tone and posture was infinitely more interesting than weaponry, however, and he honed in the boy like a vulture circling the kill. Fascinating. From the look on his face the boy really did want to be a hero, at least in some way. No wonder he was out patrolling the streets at such a late hour. “Mmm, yes, the infamous dynamic duo. But you see, dreaming of being a hero and being a hero are two very different things. Sometimes the way you want to help ends up doing more harm. Like this, for example. You’re obviously being some kind of youma bait and yet you don’t appear to be armed. Each time you get in trouble, someone has to come and rescue you, endangering their lives and physical well being. If you’re hoping to meet your Batman one day, I’m afraid you might be waiting a very long time. Unless, you're hoping for him to rescue you and take you on as his protégé?"

Azzo watched Laocoon as he replied, his head tilted curiously at the 'real deal' looking Laocoon up and down.
It was when the talk turned to him he paused he'd been trying to hide that. He thought his feelings had been better hid, he sighed. "What's a world with all heroes anyways? Someone has to be the damsel in distress." He shook his head.
"The run in with the youma that Ares kicked his a** in... I actually did that one myself. he was in my neighborhood and I didn't want anyone going out to get the paper and getting hurt by something they knew nothing of." He looked up at Laocoon, "It's not like I had time to grab a shovel or a pipe. Hell I didn't even get that great of a look at it, I just knew it.... was there. I could hear it knocking things over." A lie, but not a complete one. One Youma he'd ran into did bend and knock over a lamp pole he knew it was possible.
But he couldn't tell the other he could feel them. He paused, "I can avoid them." He said almost sharply, like the fact of the matter he was 'screwing' up was his fault, actually hurt. Azzo's finally stood up. "Batman's not real. Everyone knows that."
He said, "He's a comic book character. I can't go carrying around weapons less I want to get stopped by the police it's simply not possible." He walking, stopping and turning around to walk again. Pacing like some caged beast, wondering what was going to happen to it. "I just want some answers. You don't know what kind of things I've been through in the past year. Hell I don't even know most of it."
He said sounding irritated more so than being told he was going about being a hero the wrong way. He'd been learning kickboxing to try and save his a** but it wasn't of much use against what was out there. He seemed to be thinking, in his mind he was still following one of the closest youmas. He wasn't youma bait, he was a tracker. "I've made plenty of successful walks home without running into a youma. It's the negaverse and their toys that trip me up."

The cavalier laughed. "Are you volunteering?" Damsel in distress. Quite frankly he thought there were enough of those already. Humans with no magical powers or means to protect themselves were dying every day because they were damsels in distress, as Azzo had so eloquently put it. That alone was enough to keep patrolling. He could understand the boy's rational in that aspect, even though his plans were rather holey. Who in their right mind skulked around at night unarmed?
"Batman's not real? For shame. I'll make sure I tell him you said that about him. Don't be surprised if he visits you." Laocoon was already planning a visit to the boy's house. That was, of course, if he could figure out where it was. Stalking someone home was generally considered a no-no, right? "Don't all young people say 'screw the police' these days anyhow? If you want answers, you're better off getting the answers alive than you are getting them dead, right?" The boy was certainly determined. It was a pity he couldn't go to the library and find a book of 'need to knows' about youma-infested cities. No doubt if such a book existed he would have had his hands on the first copy.
You don't know what kind of things I've been through in the past year. Hell I don't even know most of it
Laocoon raised his eyebrows at that, quietly amused. "Oh I'm sure I can guess. Weird things happen around the city every day. I'm sure you're not the only one who's been whisked away by an unknown force. Has it ever crossed your mind that maybe you'll get whisked away by these Negaverse guys?"

Azzo grinned, "Maybe, depends on if you want to know what I can do." He watched standing there curiously seeing if Laocoon would take the unspoken challenge.
He paused tilting his head, looking amused, "If he does shall I get his autograph for you?" He liked batman as much as the next kid, but there were somethings you have to give up even with magical beings running around.
He froze, it had sounded like Schee'd offered the same thing. "I've already had my star seed stolen. I'd much rather die than join their side." He stated firmly, "Doesn't matter if there are a few cool anti-heroes. We don't share the same belief." He finished off looking at the cavalier sternly.

"Perhaps some other time," Laocoon answered easily. While it was never too late for shenanigans, it was doubtful they'd have time to prove anything before the sun came up and Johnny had to return to classes. His host body could take some night patrolling, but only because he didn't stay out until ungodly hours. If Azzo had spotted him when he'd got settled he may have taken the boy up on his offer to play youma bait.
He waved a hand dismissively at the Batman comment, knowing full well he was being sarcastic. Only on this Earth would it become silly to think that a man like Batman could be real when there were magical girls in sailor suits running around saving the day. It was just one of those things he'd never understand.
The boy certainly seemed adamant about not joining the Negaverse. That was probably a good thing. "Well, suit yourself." With a overly dramatic yawn the cavalier stretched his arms over his head. "I suppose I should go back now. You should to. Please don't get mugged on the way, I would very much like to not see you in the hospital."

Azzo nodded with a shrug. "Ah well, perhaps. I'm sure you could talk Ares into joining when you want. After all she did follow me home." He shook his head.
He watched the other yawn dramatically. Even superheroes seemed to have their drama-queen moments. Azzo shook his head, "I'm not worried about Muggers unless they're of the Nega kind. I'd very much rather that to not happen again."
He paused, this whole time they'd been conversing and he hadn't even given a name when he found out the guy was on Ares' side. Damn, "Oh by the way. Name's Azzo." He added in as he started to head back towards home, pausing to see if the other would offer up one as well.

Laocoon didn't have drama queen moments. He was on drama queen status all the time. Ask anybody. It was part of his cunning strategy – or so he said – to win arguments. The more annoying you were the less likely people wanted to hang around and argue with you.
"Azzo. Short, sweet, unique. I like it." Ah, the noble exchange of names. The cavalier did debate not giving his real name but decided at this point in the game it was only fair. Azzo had given him a useful perspective on Destiny City life so he was inclined to give a little back. "Laocoon, Cavalier of the Maze. I'll see you around." With a final Cheshire grin the green-haired teen began his ascent of the fire escape up to his previous location. A quick milkshake and then it was home time.
Ah sweet Sovereign Heights dormitory bed.
