"I'm always busy." Godfrey mumbled. He felt like such a d**k for it too- that and the whole thing about Voldemort, which he kept planning to tell Josh about, but....
"Maybe you could- huh? No, I don't have a cellphone." Godfrey wrinkled his nose but grinned when Josh talked of doing naughty things in class. "Maybe I should get one though. Faster than letters, I guess? Um... and there are some rooms in Hogwarts for comp-are you telling me you've never been in there before?"
Godfrey gave Josh a weird look. He didn't normally need to use the computers to do any assignments or really use them at all, but he knew there was a huge room full of them for students to use now. "Weirdo. Hey!"
Godfrey laughed, slapping at Josh's a** and wriggling a bit beneath him. "You're going to get your a** in the food."
Godfrey moved the pan out of the way just in case, setting it on the grass, and resumed shoving at Josh's leg. "And if you're going to do that...at least sit a bit further down."
He ended the last word in a purr, pinching Josh hard on the leg.

"Well you oughta get one then. What are you always doing anyways? Can't be studying and writing papers all the time... though I guess you have that crazy family of yours to deal with." Josh stuck his tongue out, thinking of his visit to Godfrey's house. He'd been there a couple of times after that day, but much more secretly. Definitely better not to attract attention there. He laughed at the thought.
"And been where? You say that like I would know s**t about computers, but I'm lucky if I can get one to turn on. Not like I had one at my place, silly." Josh remained unmoved by Godfrey's shoving, grinning. He debated tickling but thought better of it.
"World's most comfortable stomach, not crotch. I'd have to think of some... other uhm, adjective for that." Josh stretched his arms up in the air, keeping his a** firmly planted where it was.

"I'll ask my Papa if I can get one when I go home." Godfrey wouldn't ask Harry for something like that, though he was just as likely to say yes. Papa would give him pretty much whatever he wanted. "Even if you suck with computers, I can't believe you still haven't... haven't you ever heard of Ravengossip? And they have tons of pictures of hogwarts boys kissing.... probably have some of us even."
"Urgh!" Godfrey gave Josh one last shove before giving up, letting his hands flop to the blanket. "This is my own fault, I've made you fat."

"Pictures of us kissing? That's a tad creepy. What, they got cameras watching people around Hogwarts and such? Ehhh... yeah, not into computers. Technology and I tend not to get along well."
Josh pressed down hard on Godfrey before getting up, laying down on his stomach besides him. "M'not fat, and it I was, wouldn't be from you. Afterall, you tend to give me just as much exercise as you do food." Josh laughed, nipping at Godfrey's fox ear.

Godfrey nodded. "Yeah, pictures. Taken by creepy girls. S'why girls are so ******** weird."
The obscenity felt sharp against his tongue, but nice, like something spicy. "Well we have the two computers in the library at home, but I hardly use- GRRK!"
"a**." Godfrey rubbed his stomach but shifted closer to Josh, throwing a leg over his and bumping the back of his heel with the toe of his shoe. Godfrey grinned again at Josh's words- he couldn't seem to ever stop grinning around him. "It's because I like watching you run."
"Mmm...." Godfrey shivered, turning on his side to snuggle closer to Josh, tucking his head down against the other boy's chest. He loved it when Josh nibbled on his ears.

"Girls are definitely weird..." Josh sighed a bit, crossing his arms in front of him and laying his chin down on them. "I mean, I'm sure you looked though. ARE there pictures of us there? So weeeeird..." Josh opened an eye to look downwards at Godfrey. The weather was perfect, the grass was soft underneath the blanket. A contrast to the perfect feeling at the coffee shop yesterday. A completely opposing sort of perfect.
"So did you have a good time yesterday though? I feel like I don't ask you enough, how your day was and all..."

"Yeah, there's only two, maybe three. Just us kissing in the hallway... they're not very good, probably were taken really fast."
The blanket felt soft against Godfrey's cheek and smelled very pleasant, like flowers. It reminded him of the greenhouse back at home, and the honeyed smell of wildflowers in the field leading to the lake.
At Josh's question he buried his face deeper into the fabric. "Yeah." He replied. It was so easy to deflect the question- Josh was easily distracted, but every time Josh asked lately Godfrey felt guiltier and guiltier. "And you ask all the time."
Godfrey lifted his head, peering at Josh over the other boy's bicep. He was such a liar, a sneak. Josh had no idea where he went all the time to study- he probably only thought Godfrey stayed at home and studied. But why tell him today? Everything was so perfect. It was so warm and the breeze was nice, the sound of the water was so soothing. He could surely do it tomorrow, after all, or the next day.
"Never put off for tomorrow what you could do today, Godfrey. Don't EVER do it." Harry's voice broke through his thoughts and he buried his face against the blanket again, thinking of his Papa.
"...... tell you something." Godfrey mumbled, voice just barely audible.

"Oh, I do? I always feel like I say things but then like, am not sure if I ever actually did or not..." Josh knew he had a bad memory things. Even mistook dreams for real sometimes, when they weren't too out of control. His eyes were open now, watching Godfrey, amused. He could tell he was feeling guilty about something, but it was probably something stupid. Josh couldn't fathom any possible thing Godfrey could be doing that would really upset him. Short of cheating, which he was sure Godfrey wouldn't do.
Josh smiled, tugging at Godfrey's ear lightly. "Heh, it's okay Godfrey. What's up?"

"It's... something....." Godfrey was having a hard time looking at Josh. "Something really.... really... really bad. I always knew it was bad but at the same time.... I mean.... it's so good how can it be so bad?"
Godfrey knew he was rambling. "It's nothing to do with you and me... really. Kind of. Mostly. You're just... the first person....I haven't told anyone, is all."
Godfrey rolled onto his stomach, mimicking Josh by resting his head on his arm, but started nibbling it instead of just putting his chin on it. He stared off into space for a few moments, debating. He could still probably change his mind at this point. Josh'd drop it if he insisted, probably forget about the whole thing.....
"If I tell you.." Godfrey stopped biting himself, pulling himself up closer to Josh's face, staring at him seriously and speaking nearly in a whisper. "If I tell you you can NEVER tell anyone. EVER. Everyone would hate me if they knew. You might... even you might hate me."
His tone was rather dead serious, the playfulness he had been sporting moments ago completely gone.

Josh quirked an eyebrow, looking skeptical. "Come on, 'Frey. It's probably not so bad... m'not gonna be made or freak out or anything, I promise. And I'm not gonna tell anyone. Who the ******** would I tell, anyways?" Josh frowned, admittedly a bit nervous about what Godfrey was about to say. Josh stared back hard at Godfrey, his yellow eyes serious, which was pretty rare.
"You don't gotta keep anything from me, man. I wouldn't keep stuff from you."

"I love you, you know?" Godfrey licked his lips. Josh could always be so serious when it mattered, almost always right there when he really needed him to be. "I've hated keeping this from you, but he... I had to ask him if it was okay. He's very... private."
Godfrey leaned in even closer, putting his lips almost right against Josh's ear. "He's been teaching me.... spells.... helping. I don't really know why, but I met him the same day I met you, right before you, really, and he saved me from a hag. I didn't... I had to know why, you know?"
Godfrey licked his lips again, suddenly seeming as if he were talking more to himself than to Josh. "So when he told me to follow him, I did. And then I asked if I could write him, and he said yes. Even though he's... HIM... and my Dad is... my Dad. So I go there now.... to his Mansion.... it's somewhere deep in the woods, I don't know where, but the trees are always watching me."
His voice became quieter and quieter as he continued, until it was breathless, nearly without substance.
"It's where I always go when I'm not with you or at school. His place, with Him...... Lord..... Lord Voldemort."
It sounded to Godfrey as if a hammer had just smashed against a gong in his head, the two words ringing and resonating through his brain and making him imagine his ears were vibrating with the force of it. He had no doubt Voldemort, likely at his residence, knew what he had just done, that he had finally told Josh. Voldemort knew everything.

Josh listened with little change in facial expression. He got the just of why it was such a big deal, but at the same time it didn't really seem like it was that bad. A little weird to be sure, and Josh definitely questioned Voldemort's motives more than Godfrey's but... it wasn't anything Josh was going to freak out about. From what he understood, there were separate versions of people such as Voldemort, still existing, simultaneously. Magic didn't make sense all the time but if that much was true than this person, this Voldemort, could be basically a different person than the one from the text books. Not to mention it had been quite a few years.
Josh frowned a bit, running a hand over his mohawk and chewing his lip in thought. "That's... a little weird, and surprising for sure, 'Frey but like... no harm is coming of it. Man, he's just helping you study and is probably lonely as ********. I mean, I'm not gunna stop you from what you want to do but like... you really need to think if that's a good idea to be doing that." Josh locked eyes with Godfrey, very serious. "Think about it. I may not know much magical history s**t but I don't have to to realize he has got to be really isolated, like... who the hell else is going to hang out with a past Dark Lord?"
"I guess I'm just saying like... be careful. Your motives may be all well and good but you're like... putting hope in this guys head. S'not..." Josh took a breath, trying to arrange his thoughts. "You know what I mean."

"But.... who else will be his friend? Besides, he's the best tutor I've ever had, and he knows... he knows everything., Josh." It was rather clear by the tone of Godfrey's voice that one of the reasons he kept the secret and kept coming back was his hunger for knowledge.
Godfrey shifted back over to the blanket, rolling over on his back. He crossed his arms beneath his head, looking up at the bits of sky peeking through the leaves. "It's amazing how much he knows. It's amazing how much he's helped me... helped me get my magic under control. I almost don't even care what he wants from me, if he wants something in return. It's worth it just to feel so good."
"And I know it's not a good idea, I knew it from the start........... don't even know..... " He trailed off, feeling emotions rise in his chest, threatening to get caught in his throat and make them known.
"I think he just hopes to have someone to talk to. Maybe he finally got tired of being so lonely. I don't know how he could even stand it......." Being utterly alone was Godfrey's worst fear, everyone leaving him, hating him, ignoring him.
"Anyways... he'll probably get bored of me someday and tell me to go away............... probably... probably some day soon even, once he realizes he doesn't have to be lonely and he doesn't have to put up with a stupid kid just to talk to someone..... " The words came out before he even knew he was saying them, but he felt the tears in time to squeeze his eyes shut and stop them from coming.

Josh looked critically at Godfrey. "You're sounding a bit crazy. I mean if you want to learn stuff and that's why you're there that's all well and good. But think of why he must be teaching you. Just think, that's all I'm saying..." Josh took a deep breath, letting his mind wander. it really didn't matter to Josh if Godfrey had a million people to study with; it only started to matter when their motives were so outside of Godfrey's. Or worse, unknown.
"And anyways, why tell me? You're feeling guilty about it... which means you have a reason to feel guilty." Josh lifted a brow, smiling now. "Unless you just couldn't handle a perfect afternoon. He's a lonely dark dude, I get it. You -like- lonely, 'Frey. I wasn't Mr. Popular before you either..." Josh closed his eyes, rubbing them with a palm. Certainly didn't expect the conversation today to turn into anything like this.

"We always have perfect afternoons." Godfrey turned his head to look at Josh, moving his hand after a moment to touch his finger to the other boy's nose, trailing his finger down the length of it. "But they couldn't really be perfect with me keeping a secret. I guess I just felt guilty about that...."
Godfrey suddenly tweaked Josh's nose and smiled. "Maybe I do just like lonely people, boosts my ego? And who says you're Mr. Popular now?"
Godfrey grinned, feeling the tension drain out of him now that Josh knew, that Josh thought it no big deal but still worried. Godfrey knew his Dad was still going to murder him if he ever found out, but telling Josh lifted a weight off of his shoulders that he'd been feeling for ages.
"You have to get famous first. Then everyone will know who you are and they'll all love you. Not as much as I do though."
