She just shook her head lightly, looking bemused at his explanation. "I guess they handle everyone differently," Vivianite said, shrugging one shoulder again. "How'd you know about me?" Were the Queen and the General-King expecting her to take charge of Spinel? She stifled a groan at the thought. Janice would love that. She set her chin in her hand and sighed. Everything was just so complicated lately.
"No, you're no pest." Vivianite smiled a little lopsidedly. "I'm just not good at this."

She really did have a pretty smile. Spinel returned the smile, spread his hands out again. What can you do, it suggested, those crazy superior officers. "They could simply be taking their time on assigning me to someone."
"It was an offhanded comment, from the Queen," he said, "and, well. I was curious." He tucked away the bell. "It's getting late. Will you be okay going home by yourself?"

"I suppose," Vivianite said, slightly concerned. Normally, she wouldn't care what one Negaverse agent did, or where they were assigned, but Spinel was like her, so she felt a bit more interested in his life.
"I should be. Will you?" she asked with a mischevious glint in her eyes before she decided to show off just a little bit; he could, of course, do the same thing. Vivianite smiled widely and disappeared, teleported home. It was not precisely the most brilliant idea in the world, since it took quite a bit of energy. But it had been fun, and that was something she'd been sorely lacking in her life for what felt like a very long time.
