"He had best be a good servant or mother will kill him." She stated matter of factly, and she knew it was true. Thealia was a cruel mother to Nightshade, and sometimes was even cruel to Azalea though she chalked that up to wanting only the best for her daughter. So being pushed around a bit didn't really have the same effect that it did to others.

Her eyes narrowed at the sounds of the approaching pup, and she couldn't help but let out a small growl as he once again deliberately mispronounced her name. "It is about time you showed up slave." Looking upon Iosef she caught that slight burrow in his brow and curious as to what caused that turned around. Curses, that blasted lynx was here. That would certainly put a dent in her fun. No matter, she told herself as she turned her attention back to the two slaves. In the end she did outrank them so giving them orders wasn't too out of the place.

Those eyes may have worked on Penthesilea but Cleite was immune to the effects. He couldn't abandon his duties just because Azalea was here. Though he should be grateful for the lynxes presence as Azalea would certainly have to somewhat behave now that she was here.

Eyes met Iosef's for a moment. She really did need to tell him what had just happened but at the same time mentioning that in front of Azalea and especially Glacier wasn't the most ideal. Perhaps she could pull him to the side after he was done and inform him of the attack on the Queen. Padding forward towards the splotchy male she came to a stop beside him and once he was done speaking to Glacier she spoke. "I must speak with you privately when you are done." And then she turned and walked over to Azalea, sitting down not far away.

Glacier was feeling pretty proud of himself when his nickname for Azalea once more went unpunished, of course he knew eventually he wouldn't be able to call her that in front of other's as he soon would no longer be considered a puppy and a teen who couldn't speak properly would just be too embarrassing to be seen as.

"I don't mind spider's" He told Iosef sincerely - he actually liked the patchy wolf and didn't mind helping him - it just would have been preferable to be doing so without Azalea making snippy remarks in the background. And then because he knew i would irritate her Glacier gave Azalea an apologetic look "I'm ever so sorry" He told her "I was conversing with Penthesilea" He told her knowing it would make her insanely jealous before turning back to Iosef "What did you want me to do?"

Ahh, puppy politics; it made him smile, watching them, but he hoped it would not grow too serious. There was a lot going on here, beneath the surface...an anger in Azalea and a willfulness in Glacier, neither one suiting the pup that bore it. But Iosef had faith that both would grow out of their faults, as he had grown out of his.

Well...mostly, anyway, and well enough to keep it very well hidden -- almost hidden from himself.

He pushed the thought away quickly, violently, from his mind and patted Glacier's rump. "Good, good. I need you to stamp down this dirt, and be sure to pack it as tightly as you can." He gestured to the moist, cool earth he had mounded at the tree. "If we get it in tight enough, it will cave in the tunnels the spiders are living in, and smother them. After that's done, we'll see about keeping future spiders away." He gave Glacier an encouraging prod. "I must speak with Cleite now, if you will pardon me a moment." He nodded respectfully to Azalea. "And then I will return to help you, Glacier."

He withdrew from the pups and approached Cleite, dipping his head respectfully to the lynx. "What can I assist you with? I trust everything is alright?"

Azalea scoffed at Glacier's so called apology. He would be spending time with Penthesilea and not doing his duties like he should. Also she couldn't imagine why the Queen favored his company over hers. Sure she had saved him from abandonment and possible death, but honestly did she have to devote every moment of her free time with him? If it hadn't been for that lynx sitting a ways away she would have said something.

"Well you are here now so get a move on." It wasn't the snide comment she had wanted to say but with Cleite here she had to be on somewhat good behavior.

Waiting for Iosef to get close she spoke in a soft voice not wanting the pups to hear. "I do not wish to alarm you, but there is something you must know. There was an attack on the Queen not long ago, young Glacier was there at the time. The Queen is injured but nothing severe. However I must implore you to be extra cautious when away from the dens, for I do not know whether that male will return or not." With a glance over at the pups to make sure they were both behaving she looked back at Iosef. "It would be best not to speak of this around Glacier for the time being."

Glacier eyed the mound of dirt Iosef had piled up near the base of the tree - stamp it down flat, well he could do that. It didn't look very hard and playing n the dirt almost didn't seem like much of a chore. Tail wagging slightly he nodded to Iosef "I'll kill the spider dead!" He told the patchy wolf as he excused himself to speak with the Lynx.

Azalea's remarks reminded him ti would be more fun if the nosy female wasn't puttering about and he stuck his tongue out at her when he didn't think she was paying attention "Whatever you say....Miss Assalea" He told her innocently before trotting over to the mound of dirt and with a few running strides leapt up and landed with stiff forelegs to try and pound some of it flat with all of his weight.

His eyes widened, ears folding back in shock. "Oh my!" He glanced over his shoulder reflexively, as though to make sure nothing had happened to the pups in he span of five seconds he had taken his eyes off of them. "...but the queen is alright? Does she need anything?" And then, because he felt his limbs trembling -- he honestly wasn't sure from fear or anger -- he asked, "....Who would do such a thing?"

The lynx nodded slightly and also glanced over at the two pups making sure that Azalea was minding her manners more than ensuring they were safe from an attack. Cleite doubted that the male would come back so soon. "The queen is alright. Her wounds will heal in no time. Do not fret Iosef." She said calmly knowing that surely the male would be a bit nervous, fearful and perhaps angry over what had just happened.

Letting out a sigh she set about to explain just who set up the attack. "From what the Queen has told me it was her half brother Tierehl that hired a wolf named Achilles to do the job for him. I know nothing of this wolf except that he proved himself to be a skilled fighter but did show some restraint in his fight with the queen."

Azalea scoffed at Glacier. If it wasn't for the lynx standing not far away she would have yelled at him for mispronouncing her name yet again. It was so infuriated before she knew he was doing it deliberately. "Better make sure you do a better job with this than when you messed up that sand pile the other day." She said in a snarky voice.

Glacier spared a glance over his shoulder when Azalea ran her mouth - like she always did and purposefully rolled his eyes at her, the adults didn't seem to be paying attention and Azalea had to be good as long as they were around "The dirt pile got finished" He reminded her while pounding down some more dirt with his front paws.

"But it would be allot easier to concentrate without you commenting on everything" He told her in a helpful tone before turning his back to her and pounding at some dirt close by, raising a giant cloud of dust around them both.

Her....half-brother? His ears folded back to his skull even tighter and a small growl escaped his throat. Having had two sisters which he loved more than life itself, the idea of hiring a hit on your own flesh made his skin crawl. But knowing it was not his place to get involved, he swallowed back his rage, and turned his attention to more pressing matters. "...You say Glacier was there?" His voice was low and even.

"Well if you slaves would learn to do your jobs properly then maybe the sisters wouldn't be forced to stand over you all the time. We have other things to attend to and yet here we are watching your every move to make sure you males don't screw up." She knew, or at least hoped, that would get a rise out of him. He would probably retort back with some comment or another but that just showed how immature he was. A good slave kept his head down, his mouth shut and didn't need constant supervision.

Cleite remained quiet as Iosef let out a growl. She knew it wasn't directed at her, more towards the idea of one siblings trying to hurt the other. Iosef was very close to his sisters so she could understand his anger towards the idea. Giving her head a nod she spoke once more. "It appears that Glacier was wandering a good distance from the dens, no coubt trying to avoid Azalea." Glancing up she looked over at the two pups, not because she thought they may be in danger but to make sure Azalea was minding her manners for the most part. Not really, but she could deal with that later. "This Achilles then told Glacier that he was his father to win his trust and then used him as bait to lure out the Queen."

Coming to a stop she let all that information sink in before speaking again. "I got Glacier out of there the moment the fight broke out. He is obviously a bit shaken up over the whole thing."

Glacier rolled his eyes but kept pounding away at the dirt with vigor, Azalea would probably think she had finally bossed him into doing the job better but the truth of the matter was the young blue pup was envisioning the pile of dirt as her head and he found it vastly amusing to pretend smashing it in. Probably more amusing then was proper for him to think but he didn't care.

The physical activity and imaginary Azalea mashing kept his thoughts away from what had nearly happened to Penthesilea and from the male that could still be in the area waiting to attack. 'I hope he eats her..' he muttered slightly sparing a quick glance at Azalea before he went back to beating on the dirt.

Iosef hung his head, his anger changing to a writhing knot in his gut. "I should have kept a closer eye on the pup," he said, his tone sorrowful. "I cannot apologize enough for allowing him to wander." He kept his head down, awaiting appropriate punishment, and made a mental note to keep a closer eye on his young apprentice.

Finally he was doing some real work Azalea thought as Glacier seemed to be putting a lot of effort into flattening the earth. If only she knew what the blue pup was thinking while he did so she would probably not be so happy. Lowering herself down she laid there watching him do his work. Hearing something but not really hearing the words her head snapped up a bit. "What was that slave?" She questioned wishing to know exactly what he had mumbled.

"It is not your duty alone to watch him Iosef." Cleite said calmly, knowing that the male would be quite upset with himself for a long time. "It is the pack that failed, we all allowed him to wander off and get into that situation. But you should be thankful that it ended the way it did and that he was not injured." Ears flicked about as a fly buzzed around them. "Best to not try to dwell on it. But keep vigilant for now." With a glanced at the pups Cleite was glad to see Glacier hard at work and Azalea actually quite behaving herself. "You should return to your duties now." The lynx said as she returned her eyes to the male.

"Yes," he agreed, head still low. Then, recognizing that he was dismissed, he nodded respectfully to the lynx and turned back, returning to inspect Glacier's work and seeing the hole was now quite tightly filled. He smiled. "Good work, Glacier. That should keep the spiders busy for awhile, to be sure."

Glacier sighed as Azalea once more opened her big ugly mouth and spewed forth the acid known as her thoughts. It was really to bad she hadn't been born a mute. turning about he regarded her brightly "I said 'I hop to eat soon" He lied in a cheery voice "All that work flattening the dirt made me hungry" No doubt she would find something nasty to say about that but it would be less trouble then i he told her what he'd really said.

But then Iosef was back and he beamed at the patchy wolf and his praise, tail wagging in delight "What do we do now?" He asked the older wolf - completely ignoring Azalea in favor of Iosef and his next task.
