"I... just know it. I'm a firm believer in Balance." Kafei smiled at the cub, but inside his reaction surprised him. Someone so young should be far more optimistic about his future after all. Then again, most of the lions he had met so far were very pessimistic, perhaps this was simply the norm. It made sense, most of the living lions grew up under the Shatkona's rule, why would they believe that would ever change? It was a depressing thought.
Kafei's smile left his face when the cub mentioned something about a chosen one. What was he talking about? Maybe it was just another detail his parents forgot to mention. However it sounded like an important detail, so much so the male found it surprising he had never heard of this in the short time he's been here.
"...Yeah." The male spit out the first answer he could muster, and the tone of his voice sounded a little too optimistic. hopefully his lack of knowledge on the subject wasn't too apparent to the cub.
Kafei stayed quite for awhile and let the cub talk about his family which seemed like quite the complex web of connections. He talked about them lovingly and was very eager to share his story. It was surprising that he could remember all the details, just hearing about it was rather confusing.
"Well you sound really close to your aunt. I have a feeling you got your spunk from her?" Kafei didn't have any extended family that he knew of. When he arrived in the canyon, he also secretly wished to maybe find a relative or two. His parents had made it a point for him not to get his hopes up. Kafei kept in mind the tidbit about his uncle being a Lord though, there had to be a good chance he would run into him sometime, even if he was an Atmaja.

Even if the adult sounded unbelievably optimistic, Kafele was still a cub and that optimism was more than welcomed. It clashed with the feelings he got from his aunt’s training and beliefs and the unspeakable prophecy, easing the red young cub’s many worries.
“Yeah… I think so, too.” Kafele said softly and his eyes lit up at the mention of aunt Fila. “Yeah, we’re close. She’s awesome! Like… super tough.” He didn’t answer the question though. Was he similar to his aunt? Kafele wasn’t sure. But aunt Fila was tough and prone to say things she shouldn’t so… “We’re a little similar… a little.” The cub giggled.
“I need to get back now… before mom worries. I’d invite ya to meet aunt Fila but she’s not here right now.” Not that he’d like to introduce the lion to his mother or his aunt because he feared they might get along too well. It wasn’t because Kafei was a Tama but seriously, grown-ups in love? Yuck, no.

Similar? Something told Kafei that was an understatement on the cubs part. "Well keep up with that training with your aunt. Whatever she's doing is working, your growing up to be a real contender already."
Kafei nodded as the cub excused himself, but he was a little disappointed that he wouldn't get a chance to meet that aunt of his... Tama only knows how much he could use a bit of Atmaja style training tips. Maybe next time.
"Thanks for hearing me out." He let out a nervous laugh, his words of "wisdom" were not always revived so warmly. The Tama then bowed his head before turning around and heading back towards his comfortable spot under that tree.
"Be safe." Were Kafei's last words to the cub.

The cub laughed, chest puffing out proudly as the adult recognized his strength. As Kafei thanked him, Kafele grinned wickedly before head-butting one of the purple adult’s front paws in a playful - almost affectionate - gesture.
“Thank you. For not giving me a boring sermon.” He got enough of those already thank you very much. He chuckled. This had actually been an interesting conversation.
“Bye!” and with that last shout the red cub sprinted towards the small agglomerate of playful cubs screaming “Aaaaazu!” at the top of his lungs.
