Good, there was that subject dropped. Problem hopefully solved. He had pinky promised and that was that, just like it should be. Solved. She smiled at him, a little nervously, and trailed behind him halfheartedly until it became clear he was coming back. Elke stopped, smiling and taking the smaller book. "Even if I wanted to write about Lady Macbeth going insane?" She peeked inside the cover, then stopped, a little red again. After all, she was talking to Tony, not to the inside of an analysis of Macbeth.

"That is so weird," she said, enjoying the use of her new word. She had learned it a few days ago from a book, and now hopefully there would be more new words. Shakespearean words, too. Her smile came back, brightly now, in response to his enthusiasm; as if she couldn't resist, as if she didn't want to resist. She happily wrapped her fingers a little tighter around her pair of books. "I am told that in order to be a good writer you have to know your classics. Except the classics are different in France! But I want to be published in English, so I have to know Shakespeare, I think. Do you think so, Mr. Darrow?"

Tony would keep his pinky promise, and do everything in his power to keep her as safe as possible. He knew he wouldn't be able to keep her from all trouble, but he also was certain that anything bad that did happen to her would not be because of him. He would make damn sure of that.

"That's not weird! I think it's very, very cool," Tony said, grinning. Of course he would think something about books and Shakespeare was cool. Not just cool. Very cool.

He chuckled at her question, nodding his head, "of, I think so. It's one of the staples. People dedicate their lives just to studying Shakespeare's work, and anything that has people majoring specifically in the study of that work has to be a classic. There are people with doctorates in Shakespeare Studies, how weird is that?"

Clearing his throat, he settled down a bit. He only liked Shakespeare so much because the characters were so complex, tragic and heroic that they fit right in to his love of noble tales and legends. The histories, particularly, kept him content.

"I think with these books you'll be fine. Lady Macbeth is a well written about topic, so I think you will have all the references you need." He nodded, smiling brightly.

She couldn't help but to nod. If Tony thought it was cool, she would too. And he didn't think it was just cool, he thought it was very cool. It made sense; Shakespeare was popular, but not entirely so popular, like popular in the way that her English teacher liked it and now Tony too.

Clearly, a worthwhile topic to learn about.

"Why would you major in Shakespeare," she asked, "there doesn't seem like there would be a lot to learn about." After all, he just wrote plays, right? (She had been absent for the pre-Macbeth Who Is Shakespeare session.)

The bluenette tucked her stack of books into the crook of her arm. "I guess I should go check these out," she said, thoughtfully.

"People major in Shakespeare Studies because his plays are just that interesting and multi-faceted. And there are his other works, his poems and sonnets. There's a whole history tied in to his writing, and it's rather fascinating. You know. For some people."

Tony nodded, chuckling.

"Well, there will be someone down there to help you. I hope. Unless they've left early without telling me, again. I have to finish this cart, but if you need any more help you know where to find me?" He was sure she'd be fine at this point, with those books to help her.

And he knew he would be seeing her again. Their paths always crossed, mostly because Virgo took care to keep an eye out on the library for him. And on him, he knew, just in case. But he felt he protected her, as well, so it evened out in the end.

Kind of. He still owed her for her saving his life.

"Have fun on your paper. It's easier to write something when you're enjoying it, I think," not that he would know, having not gone to college and barely paying attention through high school. But still, he saw it in students all the time. Those that liked what they were doing always had an easier time. It was just fact, whether he had experienced it or not.

She smiled. "Yes," she said, "I should go work on it..." But she lingered for a moment or two, hovering for some very uncertain reason. "I'll see you later." The bluenette smiled again, shuffling back a few paces towards the stairs. "Good afternoon, Mr. Darrow."

Elke turned and hurried down the stairs.
