"Of course I'm lost without you." She said as she butted her shoulder against him playfully. "That's why I've been wandering around in circles for the past few months." It was a small joke but hopefully it would lighten the mood of her not staying in the pack.

"Alright." She stood giving her fur a shake. "Shall we go to the outcropping like we used to when we were younger?" Very voice was a bit eager and it wasn't that far to walk, surely they could make it there and back before he needed to tend to his duties.

He nodded enthusiastically, eyes lighting up; oh, it was so good to be home! It was almost like old times....well...except for a few losses. His heart tightened to a lump in his chest as he remembered his mother...his mistress...and... "Terreis," he said, tentatively, hopefully, as he pulled himself to his paws, "....Have you seen our other sister?"

Terreis had already begun walking when Iosef asked her that question. Her step faltered ever so slightly but she kept her eyes forward. "No." She replied simply before continuing a few moments later. "Not since I left her to come looking for you." It had been quite some time since Terreis had seen their sister and really she wasn't sure if she ever wanted to again - for she was the one who had forced her to leave Iosef to begin with.

She walked in silence for some time before speaking again and it was only because she didn't want Iosef to worry about their still missing sibling. "I'm sure she is out there somewhere, she always was the independent type you." And then a small smile crossed her maw as she looked upon her brother.

He nodded, smiling the ghost of a smile -- thinking, of course, that she would be lost without him as well, but he did not say such. "So tell me about your new pack," he said, genuinely curious -- having known only life as a slave and a loner, the idea of another pack was exotic and intriguing, and utterly terrifying.

"It's quite different than it is here." She started, though honestly Terreis was pretty sure that most packs were different than Antianeira. "There males and females are equals, there are no slaves and the mere mention of them seems to get everyone all riled up." Casting a sideways glanced at her brother she continued. "It's where Penthesilea took Thealia's unwanted pups."

As they continued to walk and get closer to the outcropping Terreis thought back to the short time she had spent in the other pack. And most importantly the reason why she left, the fight with Derecho over Thealia's pups arrival. "It's not too bad of a place, even if there is a pompous a** of a male living there that clearly doesn't understand anything than happens outside of the boundaries of his oh so perfect pack. And if too bull-headed to listen to reason." All that slipped out before Terreis realized what she was saying, but it was true, Derecho was a pain a good chunk of the time, just like she herself was.

"Oh!" he said, with a dawn of recognition. "That was kind of her, to find a good home for them. Penthesilea is a good queen, both fair and kind." That may not have been an opinion readily shared by an outsider, but for his part, Iosef felt no sense of injustice at his station in life.

He smiled a little, though, at her description of the male. "I trust you put him in his rightful place?" He asked -- with just a slight hint of teasing.

"Indeed, she is a very good Queen." Terreis couldn't think of a better wolf to run Antianeira than Penthesilea. She was the previous queen top adviser and knows exactly what it takes to run a pack. Had some many things changed Terreis' outlook on things she would have definitely returned to her life as a warrior within the pack. Although at times she did question whether it was a wise decision to join YMCA instead. Especially with the bull-headed Derecho in the mix.

She let out a small laugh. "Of course I put him in his rightful place, and then I promptly left to come see how things were up here." It had honestly been a stupid fight that both of them blew way out of proportion but that is what happens when two people with conflicting opinions are thrown together.

He smiled again, but his eyes were troubled. He wavered a moment, not certain if he should ask the question that nagged at his thoughts, not sure if it was his place. "Yet...you go back to them?"

Letting out a sigh Terreis was finding it extremely difficult to explain things. Even she didn't know the answers to Iosef's questions. "I wish I could explain, I really do, but even I don't know the answers yet." Giving her head a shake to clear her thoughts she had to tell Iosef the truth - whatever it was. "Look Iosef, when I came across that pack I had given up my hopes of having the life I once had here in Antianeira. I had spent months looking for you and after that long...I thought...that you were dead." Averting her eyes Terreis took a moment to regain her composure before continuing. "So I decided to start a new life, one where I wouldn't be constantly reminded of what I had so foolishly lost. I may have found you but I still feel like I owe them so much for allowing me into their pack even though I was so outwardly rude to them from the beginning. I at least need to give it a chance, if it doesn't work out then I will come back to Antianeira - for good."

He nodded, not quite understanding, but then, he wasn't one to question anyone's judgment. "You have a debt to pay to them, for their kindness," he agreed, sniffing the air, noting that they were quickly approaching their destination. "...And you've made friends, I would assume, that you wish not to leave?"

She let her head nod slowly. Had she been telling anyone else her plans of not returning it would have been so much easier, but she had always felt so close to Iosef even though he was of the inferior gender in the packs eyes. "Right, but I will come by as often as I can to visit, I am still bound to this pack after all."

The scents reached her nose that indicated how close they were to the outcropping. And not wanting to continue on with the dreary conversation of her not coming home she smiled deviously at him. "Come on I'll race you." And with that she took off towards the outcropping at a face pace. Winning or losing didn't matter at this point, it was just a way to avoid talking about that same subject any longer.

He smiled, taking off after her with a smooth loping gait, his eyes lit up with pup-like enthusiasm. He had never been much of an athlete, compared to the well-trained warriors of the pack, but he could hold his own when he needed to, and he trailed after his sister, laughter bubbling up on his tongue -- feeling, for the first time in ages, as though he had no cares in the world.

As the outcropping came into view Terreis added a bit more speed knowing that Iosef could easily keep up. Hearing him laugh was such a beautiful sound, life as a slave was hard so any chance of having a bit of fun and relaxation would benefit him greatly. Reaching the outcropping Terreis slowly her gait slightly to allow her to more carefully jump up the short rocky hill. Once on top she rolled onto her back and looked towards Iosef. "So tell me about this pup you are training."

"His name is Glacier," he said, coming up beside her, tongue lolling pleasantly from his jaws. "Hasn't quite learned his place, properly, but he's a smart child, and eager to please." His brow furrowed, as he considered something. "His mother had abandoned him, and I think he's taken Penthesilea on as a surrogate, of sorts. She is patient with him, but....well, I suppose we'll see how he adapts when he grows. He's young, yet." He took a deep, steadying breath, allowing his heart rate to relax back to normal.

So it seemed like Penthesilea hadn't just saved Thealia's pups but one who was abandoned as well. She certainly did take to heart the packs rule that every pup no matter its gender deserved a chance to live and choose their role. Terreis thought back to all those who had dispersed just before and after the war had ended - had any of those females been carrying pups. Not that she could remember but in Antianeira one didn't always announce these things.

"Is he from one of our sisters?" She asked, who knows perhaps one of the sisters had a litter and let the male behind because raising pups without the help of the pack was too hard. "It is good you have someone to help you out, even if he is young. I hope you are not working too hard."
