"Heh," Dane said with a grin, "I swim a lot too, always have," He said finishing off the last of the hot dogs, "Feel up for a race?" He challenged the other teen. Dane sat back up wondering if he'd have a good competitor, "After the food settles of course," Dane said patting his bloated belly. The green teen looked pumped, he hadn't been for a good swim in the ocean for a while, not to mention he couldn't remember the last time he got to race some one.

"Same here," Dane said placing his shades back over his eyes, "Gotta warn ya though I might not look it but I am a pretty good swimmer," He was just so glad for this weather, he missed the sun, the sand, and the rolling waves. He'd tried picking up surfing lately, he had been renting a board but also been saving up for one of his own, he was pretty close but still had a bit more to earn.

"Yeah, the weather is great," He agreed leaning back on the towel, "Lets just hope it stays this way I forgot my sunscreen at home, but the sun isn't too bad, it shouldn't be a big deal," He commented looking up at the sky. Dane glanced at the watch on his wrist, the only downside to food was the time he had to wait after eating in order to swim, though he was glad there was only a few more minutes left.

"Darn right I am slim," Dane replied returning the grin as he got to his feet and kicked off his sandals onto the towel. He stretched out his arms and legs before retying and tightening the draw strings on his trunks. Once he was good and ready Dane took off his sunglasses and put them down by the sandals.
"Alright, lets do this," He said with a broad smile as he looked over at Shy.

Dane walked with Shy to the beach shore. He looked out at the sparkling water, waves brimming with foam and he couldn't help but smile at the serenity of the sea.
"How about to that buoy out there?" Dane said pointing out toward the line of buoys that marked the end of a safe swimming radius, the buoys were about a fourth of a mile off shore, it wasn't a big deal to the green teen, but he wasn't sure about what Shy thought.

Dane finished up his own stretches before putting one foot in front of the other, bent at the knee, ready to take off as soon as they started.
"Get set," He said waiting on pins and needles.

Dane vaulted into the water taking off in a second. He was powerful with his strokes and precise. He had been swimming for years, basically living in the water, then since he had shaved down his metal wings his buoyancy had increased greatly. Dane tore through the water trying not to pay much attention to Shylock and just focus on his swimming. Before he knew it Dane had reached the buoy, without taking a second to look as to where his opponent was he dove under and was making his way back to shore.
