Zeke felt his sister come to a stop practically right up against his back and butt and saw her arms grip the sides of the door out of the corners of his eyes, but he didn't really register the almost bump or her in that moment. His eyes were locked on the other female - the one on the opposite side of the glass - and didn't seem to want to leave. His mind fried in that moment and all he could manage to make out in his mind were small pieces of her appearance and names from the list so long ago and so far away he had set up in his office.

Her hair's so long...Sophia...And it's got...Ophelia...She looks more spider than virus...Laura...Does she have SIX eyes?!

The Frei's opinion on the man before her, however, was not as excited. She had only encountered Zul so far and this man - her man? - was not a Raevan like her or the demonic one. He was different, strange, and while she was curious about this difference and even by the metal that glittered in various spots on his face, she was also rather...Unimpressed. Was this her man?

Zul's terse words confirmed this.

He was her man. Unimpressive, and even though she hadn't begun to imagine what he or "They" looked like she felt mild disappointment. Plain despite his colorful hair, eyes, and the markings on his skin. Unattractive. Disheveled and twitchy. Nothing compared to her. And he was hers? ...At least his own ragamuffin looks would make hers glow by comparison and he had what was important to her in this moment - her name. She wanted it, but it looked like Zul wanted out first and she shot the older Frei's bare back a ruffled, disapproving look.

Zeke was beside himself. His nerves flared, his stomach flipped in the good, non-sickening way and he couldn't stop smiling. The push against his back made him laugh and he remembered he wasn't alone with the spider Frei - his spider Frei - just yet. He turned and gave Alex's hand a playful smack, chiding her with a grin and giggle that hit his eyes hard and made the caramel color of them look warm orange. He felt the urge to wrap his arms tight around her and spin her around while whooping, but managed to hold back. For now. She was there, waiting. He couldn't keep her floating there behind the glass!

But when he turned he didn't see his Frei fully before the glass, but instead there was Zul. His smile only brightened. Zul! His good friend Zul! When the demonic Raevan gestured to the handle he still had a hold on, Zeke gasped, nodded, and pulled it free. Oh god, he was so excited, he was barely making connections!

"Hey there Zul! How're--"

The words...Zul's tone...

"Zul..." Was all he could get out from that point, looking from inside the door at his newborn Frei to the older one retreating from her, himself, and his own guardian. His tone...Zeke's body then turned to Alex and his eyes followed with a mix of confusion and almost puppy dog hurt, smile retreating as worry suddenly started a cold bubble in his gut. What was this? Zul? ...Was it...Was it already happening? Was his Raevan already being ostracized and by a Raevan he held as dear to him as his guardian? Alex had said Zul didn't remember a thing but...Zeke was so sure that Zul among all other Raevans was going to give her a chance! He didn't (couldn't) believe his Raevan had done anything to upset the demonic Frei; she was just a baby! And yet...There he went...

The atmosphere quickly changed, but the spider queen either did not register it or care. She stared at the man who was now looking at those beyond in the bright light, looking between him and the door he still had open. Well then. He was certainly unimpressive, but he showed the same mannerisms as Zul had when she had struggled with the door. She liked that, and so with nothing more than a flex of her wings and array on her crown, the virus Frei floated through - head held high and wings aloft for her waiting audience. They would all see her now, and she would be the veritable diamond in the rough amongst them, if the man holding the door was anything to go by.

She felt herself immediately right and once again disappointed, though on a slightly larger scale.

They were...Not really a "They" at all. Zul, her man, and one similar to him but also similar to herself. Like with Zeke, she hadn't really thought about what "They" were, but the way Zul had talked, it seemed like "They" would be many. Three certainly wasn't what she was expecting. She looked at the two humans in turn, focusing longer on Alex than Zeke since she had already taken the man in, and then looked past them all to take in her scenery. Plain, bright, and with less in it than the room she had come from though larger in comparison. She frowned ever so slightly.

"Ah!" Zeke cried softly as his Raevan made her way through and into their midst, releasing the door and not watching as it slowly swung shut again. The hurt and confusion drained from his face and was instead replaced with awe and startled delight. With her back to him, Zeke saw the hourglass on her back and was completely sure what Alex had accidentally captured was indeed a black widow. He should have been concerned, but he was too delighted, eyes once more on her and only for her. "Alex," he breathed, smile back and stuck with stun on his face, forgetting his sister's fear of all things spindly that would most definitely cross over to the Frei, "look."

Alex wore a look of surprise as Zul brushed beyond Zeke, extending a hand to him and lightly taking the Frei's elbow, dark brows knitted over her green eyes as she looked at him in weighted question. "What was that all about?" she asked softly once he was close enough, trying to keep the tense annoyance out of her face. Her ward had brushed off his friend for this Frei, had favored her birth over Ekundayo's awakening...and now he was acting like this? It was hard for her not to jump on him for the very words he had spoken about giving her a chance, but the look in his eyes was enough to keep her at bay. One thing she had learned about her Raevan in their time together was that he rarely did something without logic - no matter how warped - behind it.

The demon turned his blue eyes upon his woman, his own gaze as heavy as her own. "You'll see," he replied in a softer voice, little more than smoke. Zul wasn't going to bad-mouth the Widow, but he wouldn't be singing her praises anytime soon, either. It was up to Alex and Zeke to figure out what the virus had become, to see her for what she was beneath her lovely exterior. To him, she was rotten, like some part of her brain didn't develop enough to contain the notion of others living outside of one's world - nevermind that he'd been similar at one point. He'd never been so bad about it!

Frowning a little, she let him go and instead put a hand in his hair, lightly toying with the locks by one of his curved horns before Zeke's voice grabbed her attention. Her eyes swept towards her little brother, but never made it as far, getting caught on the femme decked in liquid black and crowned in lavender. Alex's dark brows lifted, her eyes widened and she simultaneously smiled and took a step back, her body language all sorts of contradictory. Like the day she had unwittingly made plaster out of the carrier of the soul that was now manifested before her, she was feeling pinched into fight or flight - and flight was not an option. She felt Zul take her hand out of his hair, unaware her fingers had tightened and tugged, now gripping his glove hard enough that he wore a look of amusement and alarm.

"Oh I--I can see, hah..." Alex felt nervous and uncomfortable in the Frei's presence - not because of her virus make-up, but because she had murdered the soul within her body. Not just any soul, but an eight-legged spindly of doom. The Italian took in a deep breath, holding it for a few seconds and exhaling in an attempt to calm her suddenly jittery nerves. "Hey, I'm Alex," she greeted the newborn, bowing her head and smiling as innocently as she could, even though her body language was tight and ready for anything. "I take care of Zul - though he seems to take care of me most of the time..." She lifted their entwined fingers, her knuckles nearly white in her grip.

Something didn't feel right. After a moment, she gave the bi-colored man a meaningful look; on the business end of her job, she realized she shouldn't have been the first human to give the Frei her name. "Introduce yourself, Cakes, she's not a pet."

The frown slowly vanished as the spider Frei took in and became accustomed to her new surroundings. The room was large, yes, and she could not see two of the far walls because of her poor eyesight, but where that fell short her other senses took hold and told her there was nothing in this place that could come out and jump her. She was fine and she relaxed, and soon all six of her eyes came back to rest on the three other bodies in the room, the three she had been mostly neglecting.

Zul, her man, and the one who was like a cross between her man and herself (though, again, with plainer and mostly uninteresting looks and most decidedly less color to boot). She kept her distance from them all, taking them in as a group before turning her head and her eyes to each one in turn again. The wheels in her head were turning, making judgments on their appearances while her eyes showed that intelligence and awareness, but the rest of her face and figure showed nothing but apathy, neutrality...and perhaps some boredom. So this was it. Hmph.

"She...Wow..." Though the Frei's face and demeanor should have been as disconcerting to him as it was to Alex, Zeke seemed to be blind to that fact and was showing nothing but awe and delight on his own face. He was a father? A guardian? He was something now, no matter what it was, and his face showed his enthusiasm. He hadn't noticed his jitters and nervous twitches up to this point and as they increased with the excitement filling up his insides he still seemed oblivious. He had been waiting for this day and now it was here...and he didn't know what to do. With himself, with her, everything felt raw and exposed and for that, he was completely fried up top and lost. He could only look at this Raevan - his Raevan - and nothing more.

"She's really here..."

Though Zeke's words were soft and coated in a thick layer of astonishment, the Frei heard him and her eyes stopped upon his features once more. Even more twitchy, and he appeared...stuck on the spot he was standing on. And he was hers. Again, she glowed in comparison and with that in mind, she didn't find herself adverse to his presence or the thought of going home with him. So long as he didn't touch her, that is. He looked like he'd be sticky.

"Oh I--I can see, hah..."

The Frei's head turned to Alex, finally hearing her speak and now resting all of her eyes on her figure at length. Though more plain than her man, she wasn't as twitchy (though to the Frei she was getting there), and the spider queen felt more a physical likeness with the green eyed Italian. It was curious, especially when she was flanked by Zul and Zeke to some degree. With this in mind, she floated a little closer, keeping Alex in the crystal clear of her short sight in order to take in her features, clothing, face, and height. The last one was at the forefront to the Frei, who had up until this point not rested at any height in particular. Sizing Alex up, she decided her height was appropriate and ceased the slow up and down motion of her floating. Five foot eight was now her standard height.

"Hey, I'm Alex,"

"Welcome, she repeated the same greeting Zul had extended to her and said it in that same cool, flat tone with her expression not changing in the slightest. However, her wings lofted and the crown atop her head flexed and moved as she continued to stare unblinkingly at Zul's woman. Off to the side, Zeke made a noise that came in his delight to hear his Raevan speak in his presence for the first time, no matter how odd or out of place her first word was. The spider queen paid it no mind, but as Alex started off about how she was Zul's guardian, she turned her mind and her eyes to her man again. No life stories, thank you very much, after knowing who you are now, she could not care less.

"Oh! Ah..." A flush crossed Zeke's cheeks as his Frei's eyes returned to him and Alex's words hit home. He wasn't alone - again - and the Frei before him still didn't know who he was. He was the most important one in here besides her and all he was doing was gawking! He could really be an idiot...But there was no time for that. "No, no she is not," he said to Alex in regards to the Frei not being a pet. She most certainly was not. His sister's business-like chide, however, seemed to flip a switch in his mind and body and were the magic words to get him unglued.

"I'm Zeke and I--"

He moved.

Too fast.

Zeke's body reacted quickly and thus made him move quickly - suddenly - in a motion that could almost be called a lurch. Though she was staring straight at him, the spider queen still reacted as though she had been jumped and all her defenses went up. The array atop her head raised in alarm, her wings were flipped over her shoulders and their saber-like points were held out, and she moved herself back as quickly as she could to keep a distance between herself and him. She hugged the mirror tighter to her armor covered bosom and her eyes flashed sharply at the man who had come to a stop as quickly as he had begun to move. Her expression never wavered, but her point was made clear: stay back.

And stay back Zeke did. His eyes popped with surprise at the display and as he came to a shaky standstill he raised his hands with his palms held out. He meant her no harm. None at all.

"I-I'm sorry! I didn't mean to scare you!" His tone went from awed and delighted to worried and apologetic in an instant. His eyes flicked to Alex, remembering full well their talk at the cafe months before and he was both nervous and curious to her take on this. "I moved too fast," he said to his sister in a tone that would hopefully clear anything before it began and, in a lower one, "I guess there's more spider in her than we anticipated, eh?" It was meant as a joke.

From her spot, the spider queen looked at Zeke hard, judging him by his motions rather than his words. He had stopped, he was keeping still, and his body showed no aggression, but still she did not drop her guard. What had he been trying to do? Touch her? She didn't want that at all, and perhaps now she was making that clear to him.

"I'm sorry," he repeated again as soon as he turned back to his Raevan, "I kinda tripped over myself there, a-and I didn't mean to spook you." He put on his best, most friendly, and open smile in an attempt to relax had to be the most shocking and quickly accomplished display he had ever seen. Though there were no immediate results, he continued, not put off at all. "Let me try that again. My name's Zeke and I'm your guardian! What's your name...Ah. Right."

A hand hit his brow and Zeke tried hard not to look at Alex and Zul as he immediately went to feeling like a first class idiot. Smooth, but then again, his brain was fried. Surprisingly though, the Raevan did not mark him as such. Zeke had uttered the magic word - twice in fact! - and the black widow's ears immediately picked up on it. Her posture changed. She shifted in the air and floated tall, crown atop her head moving slowly one leg at a time and in time with the relaxation of her wings. They did not fold back over her shoulders by any means, but the sharp ends were held down for a start. In those places, eyes became alight and ears alert for what she had been desiring.

"Name." She said with no traces of tenseness or repulsion, but instead readiness and apparent want, "My name?"

Now it would all come out.

Alex was grateful when the spindly girl lost interest in her, almost physically sagging against the opposite wall. If she'd come any closer, she swore she was going to grab a can of raid and see just how much of her was spider--

Shaking her head abruptly to clear the grisly thoughts from her mind, her green eyes fell upon her charge, who continued to stare at the Widow with a dull, unimpressed look on his face. Seeing the way she had acted with Zeke and how...well, stunted she was in the social department, she now understood why the demon looked bored. "Not very nice, is she?" Alex asked the tri-horned male softly, inching closer to him.

Zul simply shook his head, agreeing with her question in silence.

Tilting her head to the side, she lightly touched his bare shoulder, earning a slight turn of head and brief flick of bright blue eyes. "You're disappointed," she commented with mild surprise, her voice still low while the other two conversed.

"Yes." Bone-framed wings stretched before settling against his bare back. "I don't care what she is, but who she is...is so much worse." Slender brows furrowed over his eyes, again looking towards the spider-girl with the air of one who had been let down.

Patting his shoulder again, Alex offered a lop-sided smile. "Don't be too hard on her. Not everyone stays the same as the day they're sent home..." Silently, she prayed to whatever deity was listening that any change on the Widow's behalf would be for the better.

The veterinarian smiled and dropped his hand as his ward finally graced him with speech. Her words weren't the first things he was expecting, really, but then again he could see it from her side. She was eager for her name, eager to know who she was. But who was she? She could be any one of those names he had put up on a list how many months ago, but only one would fit for sure. If only he could recall all of them!

"Your name..." Zeke said softly, dropping his hands and instead raising one to his chin to touch his beard. That light suctioning on his lip ring soon followed; thinking hard and back to those names he had since ticked off and that were still hidden from his immediate thoughts by the fog of excitement and adrenaline. There was a name for her, he just had to find it.

As her man thought and went about his thinking motions, the Spider Frei held firmly to her desire, but easily became annoyed with the wait. Didn't he know? He should know, he was her man if Zul was to be believed! Then again, Zul had led her astray with the concept of 'They' hadn't he? To this thought she turned her head and looked at the two waiting behind. Her eyes ticked from Alex to Zul and rested fully upon the older Frei, taking in his expression and scrutinizing it. She was unaware of what his look meant, but decided quickly she didn't like it. The way he was looking at her was...Not right. Not befitting him and most definitely not befitting how he should look at her. Her crown creaked and flexed in acknowledgment of his gaze but other than that her face remained impassive toward him and his woman.

Hmph.

She then decided her man was still taking too long and turned her attentions back to him in full, a hand lighting on one of her arms starting to tap its fingers against her bicep. She saw him notice her gaze and he smiled at her in an apologetic way, but still he came out with nothing. Was it really so hard?!

Yes. Yes it was. Zeke went through all the names he could think of - A's to Z's - but nothing seemed suitable. Nothing seemed her. He took in his Raevan all over again and felt that there was very little that could match up with her look of...well...regality. That's how she looked to him. Impassive, upstanding, beautiful of course, slightly annoyed (which he could see now with the way lines appeared at the outer corners of her lavender eyes) but regal. He was going to treat her like a princess, even if it wasn't exactly the best way to raise a child and even if he didn't quite know it yet, and with that word in mind, his brain began to all but throw names at him. Elizabeth, Catherine, Isabella--

"Anastacia." The word fell from his lips as a realization that quickly became an honest assurance. This sudden word stopped the newborn's tapping and prompted her to rise; wings returning to her back, head lofting and annoyance-born lines around her eyes vanishing. Now they had gotten somewhere.

"Anastacia," she repeated, testing the name much like she had Zul's. Ahh-nah-stah-cee-ya. Full and thickly accented. It sounded long, but that was of no concern to her because it suited her. With the annoyance gone from her eyes that eager light showed through and with it came a glimmer of approval. It was fitting. She liked it. It was hers. "I am Anastacia." There was no room for argument.

And Zeke was not going to give her any on that. When it was uttered by him and then spoken so proudly by her, he knew it fit. Anastacia was the name that came to mind, and so Anastacia it would be. There was an idle thought that he had perhaps thought of that name before - perhaps it was on his list - but there was no time for that right now. Instead, his face lit up with the approval his Raevan was only just showing and the feeling extended to all parts of his form, leading him to bounce on his heels.

"Your name is Anastacia," he agreed and looked to his sister and her charge with his returned delight both to show how happy he was and to see what they thought of the name, "and you'll be coming home with me!

"Home." She was appeased by the progress and her new found name, and it was suffice to say she was not against this prospect of going home with her man. Sweaty as he looked, flighty as he looked, he had given her what she wanted and that made her more...compliant to this idea and perhaps any other that could crop up. Anastacia followed her guardian's eyes and turned, once apathetic face now graced with a small, but clearly (yet smugly) pleased smile as she looked to the two who had all but been left out of this exchange. She had her name, and no matter what they thought of it, it was hers. Now and forevermore, everyone, anyone, and no one at all be damned.
