The doctor smiled. "Of course. He's in recovery. In fact, you could go and see him. He's not awake, but he could be at any time." She pointed down the hall. "That way, two rights, and up a flight of stairs. Room 203. There should be signs."

Alex smiled. "Thank you." she replied, obviously glad. "I'll leave my statement before I leave." she said, then started down the hall.
She at least wanted to make sure that he woke up. And she wanted to make sure she could leave him here, that he didn't need any help. Hospitals weren't a place super heroes went, and when they did, they usually had someone there that could bail them out if the situation turned bad. At least from her world that's how it went. Well, her team anyway.
Ugh...now that she was walking down the small hall, and not worried about anything, she had time to smell herself. She REALLY needed to clean herself up after this. She still couldn't believe she smelled like this because she threw a tantrum in a pile of garbage.
A moment or two later, she was up the stairs and had found the room she that Batman was in. She hesitated a moment, then quietly made her way towards the room. Just as quietly, she opened the door and peeked inside.

He was conscious. More to the point, he was up, pulling his jeans back on with silent grace. When she opened the door, he automatically dropped into a defensive stance... and then relaxed when he saw who it was. He motioned her inside, and then went back to dressing, grabbing his t-shirt from a nearby table.

Alex smiled, still relieved to know that he was alright. She slipped inside the door and carefully shut it behind her. "You alright?" she asked. Obviously he was. Not only was he on his feet, his condition had been confirmed from a doctor. Still...he was out cold the last time she seen him. Bit of a habit to ask.

"Fine," he said shortly, completely dressed by that point. Without missing a beat, he reached out to a nearby plastic pitcher of water, broke off the handle, and pulled a bit of rope out of his pocket. As he tied the rope around one end of the broken handle, he finally looked over to check on Alex. Whatever he said, his eyes looked like they were having trouble focusing.
After a moment, he asked, "You?" He couldn't remember most of the fight between Alex and Gossamer, and what he did remember was pretty fuzzy, but he was pretty sure that Alex had taken a beating. She looked okay, though...

"I'm fine. Someone else came that seemed to know magic and took over playing with the witch." she replied, moving away from the door more.
He really didn't look fine, but she could understand him wanting to get out of here.

Coolly, he moved the the window, expertly swung the makeshift grappling hook around at his slide. When it had picked up enough speed, he threw it, and it wrapped neatly around the neck of a gargoyle across the street. Then he stepped up onto the windowsill and glanced back at her. "Coming?" he asked, raising a dark eyebrow. He didn't want to discuss particulars in a possibly bugged hospital room, but he DID want to discuss particulars.

Alex couldn't help but grin. She was supposed to have made a statement, but she was never good with stuff like that anyway. She just wanted to get out of here. If she had to deal with cops later, she'd deal with cops later.
She carefully made her way onto the window with him and took hold of part of the rope with one hand, and put her arm around him with the other. She wasn't about to let him support her weight with as many broken bones as the woman said he had.

He noticed this and gave her a small, wry, but possibly appreciative smile, and then they were swinging across. Just before they got there, Terry levered his legs back and then up, flipping himself onto the rooftop in an easy, practiced movement. It didn't usually hurt that much, though. The pain wasn't so bad that he couldn't simply dismiss it, though; harder to ignore were the consequences of his second serious head injury in less than 48 hours. It was considerably harder than normal to keep himself upright; if he'd had his suit, flying would have been completely out of the question. As things were, he was constantly having to compensate for his damaged depth perception and balance.
You wouldn't have known it to look at him, though. Except for his out of focus eyes and marginally slower movements, he seemed to be completely fine. "So..." he began, leaping across to the next roof, assuming that Alex was right behind him, "What about another magic user?"

Alex had never really had to swing from buildings before, but she had done enough building hopping that going from the rope to the roof was no feat at all. Just swing her legs, as Terry had, and just let physics do the rest.
She landed in a crouch that would have seemed animal like had anyone noticed the few seconds she was in the pose, then stood and straightened out her little jacket. She glanced back up to find where Batman was, and found him making his way across the rooftops. This she could do. A good change from running all over the place as well.
"It was another woman." she replied, leaping after him. "She was wearing some kind of magicians outfit or something. Top hat, long dark hair. She didn't say her name, and I didn't stick around to find out."

He blinked, then smiled a little. "Zatanna." This was going to take getting used to. Wayne's old girlfriends popping up all over the place, most of them total psychos in one way or another... At least he'd never really had to deal with that. Just Melanie, and she was interested in Terry McGuiness, not Batman.

Alex smiled, more at the fun she was having making her way across the roofs. Absolutely NOTHING here was familiar. She was completely out of her territory in just about every way. She had none of her old buildings, none of her villains...except for two or three, none of her other heroes, everything was completely new to her here. Heck, there was only ONE person from her team. Shadow and Warp were clones. They went their separate ways. She was actually fairly surprised that they stuck together with everyone.
But this, this was familiar. This she could have fun with.

One of many ambulances arrive. One of them has Barbara Gordon, and the EMTs with her take her to the ER announcing her as a victim of Joker's Toxin.
Great. I'm victimized by that psychotic clown.... again.
