I don't know when this is going to occur to him, but there is currently every possibility that Strange is no longer capable of making him be good. Of course, depending on how much he's changed, that revelation might not matter so much.

His little shoulder devil is going to make that suggestion once he realizes that Strange and the other heroes are nowhere to be found. It'll be a coin toss how he behaves though.
After all...there is a goddess that can't do anything to help at the moment becaus SHE can't use her powers. twisted
