If the grunt hadn't been so scared for her life, she would have probably found the situation rather comical. Instead, she looked up just in time to see Seth slip and reflexed instantly to help him, but stopped after one step when she saw him catch himself. Oh man, things were not good.
"I-I really am sorry, sir." She stuttered out, staring at him in fear. Oh man, why was it she always had bad luck?

He could have asked for help. He probably should have actually. But well... this is Seth we're talking about, and he was above such things.
Giving his foot a few more shakes, he realized its was futile. And trying to take the bucket off on a wet floor was hazardous to his health. "Do you think I'm deaf? I heard you already! Shut up and make yourself useful!"
With that, Seth proceeded to stomp down the hall. The bucket still attached. Step, clomp, step, clomp, step, clomp. The elite trying not to slip again.

Watching as Seth stomped off, Kofuku felt a little relief on her; she's survived! And then, her rotten luck came crashing down on her again. Seth was walking with her bucket on his foot... and he was walking in the direction of the supplies closet, where the other buckets and the mops would be.
Silently crying on the inside, she gave a heavy sigh and followed after him, cursing mentally. Slipping a little, but managing to keep her balance for the most part, she only hoped that Seth wasn't going to notice that she was behind him. The last thing she needed was for him to think that she was following him now.

Of course he would notice, and it didn't take long either.
The elite turned halfway to glare back at Kofuku. "What the hell do you want now!?" He raged, displeased with the grunt's persistence in annoying him.
Now that he was off the wet floor, the elite leaned against the wall and proceeded to pull the bucket off his foot.

Of course he noticed her; this was Kofuku, the grunt who right at this moment was pretty sure she had the worst luck in the history of history. Pointing to the bucket on his foot, Kofuku chose her words carefully.
"I needed to get a new bucket and a mop from the supply closet sir." Her finger then shifted from his bucketed foot to a thin door a little farther down the hall to prove her point. "Same direction as you were going." 'As misfortune would have it.' She added silently to herself, watching grimly as he pulled the bucket off. Oh, that thing was so going to be aimed at her head, she just knew it.

And she would be correct.
As soon as Kofuku mentioned that she needed a bucket, the one that had been previously attached to Seth's foot... went careening through the air. Right at her head.
"Have that one!" Seth snapped, not caring if the bucket hit her or not. It was her fault, anyway.

Her body reacted quickly to the projectile bucket, since she'd already been slightly prepared for it. Hand reaching up and forward, she grabbed at the rim of the bucket.. and wince as the bucket spun a little right before her finger tips and smacked rather painfully into her hand and then started twirling. Eyes widening, she quickly shot a second hand out, fumbling a bit with the bucket before she finally secured it by wrapping her arms around it and curling her body around it to hug it. Of course, this put her in a rather off balanced position, and she stumbled a couple of steps before regaining herself.
"Thank you sir." Giving him a bow of her head, she walked past him to get to the supply closet with her heart pounding audibly in her ears; she still needed that mop...

Seth watched as Kofuku managed to avoid actually getting clobbered by the bucket, and fumbled with it instead. The elite scowling at her as she went past.
He had nothing to say. There was only incoherent grumbles as he simply stalked out of the infirmary.

Opening the door to the supply closet, Kofuku just stood there for a moment, staring blankly into it as she took a trembling breath. Alive. She was alive and she had no idea how she'd managed to get through another encounter with Seth since the officer clearly disliked her. The bucket being chucked at her head was more than enough proof that it still held true.
Finally snapping back to reality, she blinked a few times, then grabbed a mop to get to work. She needed to work quickly before someone else slipped on the spill. "And then after that, I need to find Dr. Reyard." She muttered under her breath, talking more to herself than to anyone else.

"Right here."
Came a voice from the other side of the door. The petite red headed doctor having returned after the elite's swift departure.
"What did I tell you? Its best to just leave him alone."
She held a stack of papers, which she then handed to Kofuku.
"If you're really interested in becoming a nurse, then you need to be serious about it. You will need to read a lot of material, take some classes, and work as an assistant first. Here is some information. Think it over. Keep in mind that medical staff do not go on missions very often and never reach the rank of elite."
This wasn't the sort of decision you just jumped into after all.
"I run a high quality infirmary and won't take anything less than your best."

"Cripes!" Kofuku yelped out at the sound of Reyard's voice. Jumping a bit, she dropped her bucket and mop, wincing at the clang and crash that resulted from it. Placing a hand over her heart, she took a few breaths, feeling it thumping quickly in her chest. Bending down, she quickly picked up the bucket and mop, then looked at the doctor with a small smile. "Gave me a near heart attack..." Taking the papers into her free hand, she attempted to read what the top one said, but gave up in order to listen to her words. Listening intently, she felt her face turn a serious. "I see... I understand not reaching rank of Elite, and honestly that wouldn't bother me if I could succeed at this. But, exactly how often would I be allowed on missions? I mean, aren't there trained field medics?" Considering the last mission and the injuries that came from it, she would have thought that having a Agent, or even a Grunt, that was knowledgeable in addressing such serious injuries would have been wanted and welcomes in case of emergencies.

The doctor smirked in light amusement at Kofuku's reaction. Wasn't that twice today that she nearly had a heart attack?
"Of course. But it depends on the mission. Many are kept as small as possible, and most elites and agents are required to know basic first aid, thus field medics are not really required. Its usually on the larger, more dangerous missions that they go along."
After all, in the last mission they hadn't been anticipating anything like that to happen. Not to mention most of those that went didn't receive life threatening injuries and nobody died.
"Of course there are pros as well as cons. I would advise signing up ahead of time if you wish to help with physicals. Male agents are required to strip and many of the girls like to get in on that." The doctor gave a roll of her eyes. She honestly didn't think it was that big a deal herself. After her many years of medical practice she was far less impressed by the male anatomy than many young women.

Brow furrowed in thought, Kofuku nodded, her face serious; a rarity for anyone who's spent a few good and long days with the girl. "I see..." Adjusting the papers in her arm, she paused and stared at the Doctor when physicals was mentioned, her face turning a bright red. "O-oh, really?" Immediately, her thoughts wondered off to Panther, and she couldn't help but grin a little.
Her grin faded as she snapped herself back with a reality check, and she gave Reyard another serious look. "Do you think, in your honest opinion, that I would be able to do well at this." It was important for her to know this; if the Doctor didn't think she could do well as a nurse, then it wouldn't make much sense to try and have to give up on missions. As it was, Seth already considered her useless, so why would she want to have another person label her as the same thing in another subject?

"Don't insult my intelligence." The doctor quickly replied, peering at Kofuku through her glasses.
"I wouldn't even entertain the idea if I thought you were incompetent. But like I said, you will need to be dedicated and take it seriously. I won't have any problem kicking you out if I feel you're not giving it your best."
Folding her arms over her clipboard and holding it to her chest, Dr. Reyard waited to see what decision she would make.

Immediately, her cheeks turned bright red. "I hadn't meant it like that, Ma'am." The last thing she'd meant to do was insult the Doctor; this woman had to be beyond basics smarts.
Biting her lip, she fell silent as she thought about what this could mean. It was a huge change from what she'd been going for when she'd first joined, and she'd never even considered being a nurse to be a possibility. Not to mention that for once, there was someone who thought she actually could succeed at something. Everything was so tempting, but at the same time, she knew that she needed to think things over.
"Would it be all right with you if I gave this some time to think over? This is just so sudden. I really hadn't even thought about this as being a possibility." Looking at Dr. Reyard hopefully, she offered a small smile. "I can give you an answer by the end of tomorrow's shift."
