This changes all the time. Being a Monk would be pretty damn awesome *kills dragon with bare hands* though Dark Knights are (well would be, if they appeared more often outside of Cecil and Gabranth) pretty damn epic, as are the Blue Mages of FFXI.
Puppetmasters were pretty cool too, if only they would be somewhat easier to use. Time Mages, if they were to be used outside of support and as a damage dealer, would be pretty epic *imagines a sort of Xigbar/Luxord enemy*. Speaking of Luxord, Gambler's would be pretty fun and interesting.
And some of the jobs from 4 Heroes of Light appear quite awesome. Monk; can let dead allies use magic and attacks; Necromancer, iirc, get more powerful the more often they die themselves. And the Geomancer's from FFIII were adorable.
Summoners are also pretty awesome; summon beings from another real while also usually looking awesome. But maybe they could take it a step further; you -become- one of the beasts you summon. Oh yes.
A combination? A Gambler/Time Mage would be extremely unpredictable and fun. Maybe card sword like Psiren of FMA, or guns as a weapon. Though Necromancer/Dark Knight or Blue Mage or Puppetmaster would all make great fun.
tl;dr I love lots of jobs and can't decide xD

Nice call on summoners. biggrin
What I want to see in tactics though as a summoner is for it to be like FF10 in a way; where they can attack and be trained of sorts. They'll just be there for a limited time though and this and that. (too long a concept. xd )
on green mages:
Their crowd control is very useful, but yeah, they're pretty useless in a way since their skills were available to the other classes before. The quest to get them in FFTA2 was the cutest thing in the game though. I really want to draw them one of these days. xd
on the "dream" paladin build:
I confirmed that the dual wield is only for weapons in FFTA. I got this idea when I was fighting that black mage in FFTA2 who carried two shields though. So maybe it's possible in FFTA2? I haven't reached that far in that game yet.

Likes: (FFX/FFX-2) Rangers - In FFX, Wakka was number one against all those flying enemies that dodged everything else and was resistant to magic. Thief/Chemist - Much love to Rikku and her ability to swipe then use all the items you get in FFX.
Dislikes: Blue Mage. Sometimes the whole thing with enemy skills just isn't that good... although Lancet (FFX) was a valuable move...
Job Combinations Ranger/Warrior = All the attacks of a warrior like elemental strikes or break moves on a person who uses distance attacks.
Thief/Chemist = again much love to Rikku *See above*
White Mage/Black Mage/Summoner = If magic is your thing then why have more then one when mixing them together gives you the utimate mage.
Of course there your jack of all trades type where you use anything you can learn and that's me

Ah yes, a thief in every battle is always good. Awesome choice. smile
And I see how we both see Wakka the same way. In my FF10 games he is more synonymous to "damage" than any other character in the game. xd
But I do agree on what a lot is saying about the blue mage and some of its useless spells. But I love the adventure it gives me in my attempts to look for and learn them. The preparation I have to go through when trying to learn bad breath and limit glove is hilariously fun in a way.
