He shook his head. "Funny? No, I was just thinking that the way you said Coyote was familiar." [He says it Kai-yote] He was actually a fairly quiet walker when he wanted to be, but he usually didn't need to as his size and long legs gave him a pretty decent jump on speed. He looked down at the dainty little female and he couldn't help the soft smile that found his maw. He lifted his head and sniffed the air as a breeze swept over them and the scent of wet earth and rock found his nose. There was actually a den that was practically on the stream. As they got closer his tassel began to wave and his ears perked forward on his head as his nose twitched, taking in ever scent around them.

"What, Kai-o-tay? I don't remember where I picked that up." Choco watched him, walking alternatively behind next to and slightly ahead as they went a little bit of a dip and rush in the way she was walking. "What is it?" She asked, happening to be below whatever breeze he was sniffing, but she could hear the water pace changing, rushing and falling a bit differently like the shore was a drop rather than a bank. She grinned, that usually meant swimming hole.

He looked at her and stepped ahead of her for a moment, opening a gap in the foliage of a thick wall of bushes. In front of them was a clearing with a tall tree in the middle that supplied a lovely amount of shade, beneath the tree, across from them was a Rock wall that went up into a small mountain face that ran into the foot hills that surrounded them, and in the wall there was an opening, a dark gap, easily big enough for at least three of Jacob. He smiled and looked at the small waterfall the rock wall created and noted how the shade of the tree covered the deep oasis that the waterfall ran into. He looked at her with bright eyes. "Well, I do believe we've made a discovery." he said softly, tail waving in satisfaction.

Choco sniffed the air for badgers and with a little yip raced into the clearing and jumped on the wall, her paws scrabbling until she paused halfway up above the cave to look over her shoulder to look down at him with a wide mouthed grin, a look at me grin without having to say anything. "cool wall!" she giggled and then dropped easily the whole way down and landed on her paws, crouching to absorb the shock of her fall. "A discovery indeed this place is awesome."

Jacob trotted easily into the clearing, the wall of foliage returning to it's original state, locking out the world behind them. He watched her, tail wagging rapidly as he watched her antics with joyful amusement. When she was on the ground again he bounded towards her and darted into the cave at the last minute. He sniffed around the den and grinned. "A natural occurrence and there's never been another animal in here." he said, taking in the scents that swirled around the den. "This is great..." he murmured, making his way to the water's edge. It was big enough that he could swim around it freely, and his paws wouldn't reach the bottom toward the fall, and it gradually got shallower so shorter creatures could stand easily. He sat down and looked around in awe. Exploring had been a great idea. The large male sat up and flopped backwards, rolling around in the grass, tail a flurry of color as it waved.

Choco laughed watching him look around in wonder and roll his giant self in the lush green grass. "Enjoying the grass Jacob?" She flopped on the grass with her forepaws dangling in the swifter water. "This place is really pretty and it's got the perfect sun shade ratio."

Jake looked at her. "Last time I was on grass it was yellow and dead!" he exclaimed, then, maneuvering a bit he rolled himself right into the water, sending a spray of cool water over her. "And the cave is good size..." he added, nodding in agreement with her, swimming to the edge of the water and laying his head by her paws while he floated comfortably in the deeper water.

Choco jerked her head up off her paws. "A good size for what?" she shook the bits of water from her coat before it got to her shedding undercoat.

He shrugged, his broad shoulders rolling, muscles rippling beneath thick fur. "I don't know. Comfort? Friends..." he smiled. "It's easy to move around in." he added. He looked at her and found that he was rather happy that he had found her, she was fun to be around somehow he just couldn't quit smiling.

"Easy for you at least." Choto laughed and got up to investigate the cave, and to her astonisment when she got to the back she noted it tapered down enough that Jacob wouldn't be able to fit, but it was a perfect fit for herself, she kind of liked enclosed places it was cool, but she couldn't feel a draft. Sniffing all around the walls she found a place where it was dirt instead of rock. She came out a few minutes later, sniffing down the outside of the wall looking for a matching patch. She found it, barely when she stuck her head carefully under the waterfall. "It is pretty big, at least enough for you." She wasn't going to tell him about the dirt patch, not until she found something amusing to do with it. "Do you always grin like this Jacob?"

He watched her explore but made no note of it. It wasn't like it was his business anyways, what the gal was doing. "Yeah, and there's more than enough room for two. You could fit a whole family in there.... well, okay, probably not the family I grew up with, admittedly." he said with a thoughtful expression, and then when she asked him about his grin his smile faltered slightly. "Not usually... err... does it bother you?" he asked, dipping his muzzle into the water so his ears, nose and eyes were the only thing visible as she had earlier.

"A, a family?" Choto laughed. "Can't be bigger than mine, we've had to expand the cave like a million times to have enough room for everyone." She giggled at his reaction to his question as she walked over, suddenly sticking a paw on his head and dunking him. "No, it just seems like you're super happy. Now you're a fish, not a croc!" She said with a grin.

"Well, mainly I mean height. My dad was a beast, and while I was the biggest of my siblings, they were still pretty large." She pushed him down and he flailed for a second, then he came back up and snorted a few times, trying to get the water out of his nose. He blinked and looked at her then chuckled. "I'll admit I'm enjoying your company, and this place is really great... I was thinking maybe I wouldn't have to keep travelling and looking for a place to stop every few days." he laid his chin on the shore once more and drifted lazilly.

Choto smiled nicely like she hadn't just dunked him and blushed at his comment under her fur. She gave him a small smile. "This place looks like a good place for you to settle." She watched him for a moment, and then got up to flop in the full sunshine with a huff of breath and a flick of her tail. "sunshine..." she mumbled.

"You could settle with me." he said, pulling himself from the water, then when he realized how that sounded her faltered and then grunted as he fell back in. When he resurfaced he coughed. "I meant to say, you could stay here too, if you wanted... like, den mates or something... err." he stopped before he dug himself deeper, now he was blushing under his fur.
