"I see" Derecho answered her, though to him it seemed rather pointless to keep walking when you didn't have any place to go. What exactly was the point of that? Nothing as far as he could see - and he suspected the female had more of a reason for her wandering then she was letting on at the moment.
"That sounds somewhat lonely..." He offered after a few moments of silence passed between them. "why do you keep walking if you have no place you need to be?" He questioned though he doubted she would answer him. Oh well in any case they were making good time across the packlands.

Terreis shuddered inwardly. He would need to ask that question, the one she herself had been avoiding. Why keep walking, why not just find a new pack and a new life? Perhaps because she still had that small shred of hope that she would find her lost brother and her lost pack. But each day so far had just brought about a new series of disappointments.
"Some reasons for doing things are harder to explain than others. Some questions can never be truly answered." And with the slightly sigh she glanced over at him before turning her eyes forward again. "And some things that have been lost are never to be found again." So that wasn't the most detailed of answer but it would have to do for now, she didn't entirely trust this male yet so why give him her life story.

Derecho sighed slightly - honestly he had enough wolves around him who liked to speak in riddles, Aleu and her lyrics..Verse and his accursed poems. It had been bad enough when they disliked each other but lately they'd been together more often and more times then not conversed in a fashion they called 'artistic' and he called 'annoying'. That was probably why he prefered to spend time around his Aunt Meme...at least she was plain spoken, to the point of being blunt. But at least he had some practice in deciphering babble.
"Right..so...you don't really know why you keep walking - or maybe you do and just won't accept it and you've lost something that you doubt you'll ever find again, does that about sum it up?" He asked her with a slightly arched brow. Really she could have just said 'I don't know, I feel lost' and gotten the same message across. "Seems to me like maybe you really could use a bit of a mental break, my mother always says sometimes the way to solve a problem is to stop trying to force the answer"

Terreis let her head nod slowly. "Yeah, that pretty much sums it up." Had he been female she may have felt more inclined to explain her situation, but since he wasn't she sure as hell wasn't going to spill her life story so quickly. His next words made her stop in midstep. Had she been forcing herself to find what was lost so much that she had perhaps missed some clues to lead her to the answer? That was possible. It had been many months of wandering and searching and surely one could miss
Falling into step smoothly and silently again Terreis thought hard. Maybe it was time to get a good nights rest and start over with a fresh set of eyes, ears and nose. "I don't think I have been forcing the answers to come to me. But maybe I could use a break - for just one night."

Derecho might have smiled a smug smile, success - he felt as though he might have helped this female along. Perhaps he didn't know her problems but that hadn't hindered him from offering what was clearly decent advice. Seems he could put his ill temper aside from time to time for the greater good - and maybe, just maybe he could become an ambassador for his pack after all.
But he managed to keep his smiled reined in - mostly. He had a feeling Terreis would take some sort of offense as this perceived victory of his and so he ducked his head slightly in a nod to hide what small bit did slip out. "If you think it's for the best" He told her with sincerity "I can show you to a guest den"

Terreis huffed a bit, for the best, yeah right. But she kept that thought to herself. She really could use a good nights sleep and though she didn't think this was the best place around she could certainly do much worse. Coming to a smooth stop she looked at the younger wolf. "Show me then. But not something too close to the others." Terreis wasn't quite ready for the closeness of pack life just yet, even if it was for just one night. Plus being away from the others would let her escape unnoticed come morning.

Derecho though for a moment before veering off into the wood and picking up the pace "I know the perfect place" He told her over his shoulder as he trotted towards the center of the pack lands. the den he had in mind was a bit off from the others, where she could watch the rest of the pack but would unlikely be bothered - it was the den his mother often gave to shy new wolves until they grew confident enough to move closer to the pack and it sounded to him to be a perfect fit.

While Terreis highly doubted that the den would be perfect it would at least do for the night. When they came to the den she gave it a quick inspection before looking at Derecho. "It will do. You may go now." The slight order slipped out before she could stop herself, another part of her old life sneaking through. But instead of taking the words back she merely slipped into the den. Derecho could leave on his own accord, though the sooner he did the sooner she could fall asleep.
