Oh he definitely was that drugged up. The bright smile was returned with one of his own and a relieved sigh.
"That's good...I don't think I could handle someone else I know getting messed up, ya know? Self defense classes though? That's....interesting... When I'm feeling better I'll totally go with you to one if you really want me to! But...I dunno what the chances are of getting Zac or Beth to go...I could ask!"
Zac..he didn't see going. Zac would likely sit in the corner and glare everyone to death, or simply refuse to go at all. Beth...might go. It all depended on how she was feeling. Poor thing.
"A lot of the girls are getting hurt? I wouldn't..expect that from Crystal girls... Some of the guys have been getting in trouble, but you know how that is. We got a good staff watching over us! The secretary even visited me to be sure I was okay!"
It helped that said secretary was what he liked to call a friend, and also his -queen-. Neither of which Cordy really needed to know.

"That's what they've said, the papers, that is. They're calling it the Crystal Academy Rapist." She rolled her eyes, clearly not taking it as seriously as it was meant to be taken. As far as she was concerned there were worse creatures lurking in the night, far worse than urban legends and other made-up stories.
The Negaverse was real.
Cordelia shook her head, dismissing it all as best she could before shifting so that it was easier to brush her fingers lightly through Demy's hair. "... Y'know, I'd best you'd look a lot less like hell if someone did something with your hair." She was trying to distract herself... Or maybe she was trying to distract her friend. Either way, it had a good chance of working. "I could probably paint your nails too..."

Well -that- was a far cry from the usual muggings and...well star seed thefts that actually went on. A rapist? Seriously?
And then there were fingers in his hair and any serious thoughts the boy had flew right out the window.
"Cordyyyy, my hair looks awful right now. These silly nurses won't listen to me when I say SOMETHING has to be done with it, it's all boring and flat. Ew..."
He heaved a sigh, reaching up a hand to run his own fingers through it. It was looking a little limp, a far cry from the usual styled bed head look he had going.
"It sucks. Can you fix it?"

"Can I fix it?" Her brow lofted slightly as she stood up so that she could inch a bit closer, holding up a strand before making a face. "I dunno, Dem... It's pretty bad. I mean, do you have any idea what kind of hair gel it would take to get it to do something other than flop? I don't even know if I have any of that in my bag... I think the only thing I have is this crazy hair spray stuff that's great for stopping runs in nylons. I could check, though?"
A look of determination took over the features of her face as she turned to rummage through her bag. Soon enough a canister of Rave hairspray was sat down on the little table, followed not long after by what looked like a tiny tube of glitter gel. "Hrn... I think that's all I've got. Do you think I could get away with spraying that stuff?"

"Cmoooon Cordy you have to have something! You always do. Besides, you can't just leave me looking like this. It's pathetic, and just looks -bad-. Ughhh..."
He was trying to peer over as she rummaged through her bag, and seemed pretty elated to see the hair spray and...was that glitter gel? Could she really have -glitter- gel with her? Cordy was clearly a wonderful friend.
"...Man I convinced them to give me cookies when I'm on a liquid diet. I'm sure I could talk them out of being angry if they got upset by the hairspray."

"It's because you look like a kicked puppy." She snorted softly as she turned, brushing her fingers lightly through his hair once more. It would be a lot nicer if she could wash his hair and dry it first, but short of begging someone for a squirt bottle she figured she could work with what she had.
While she fussed with his hair she chatted idly, filling him in on the little things that had happened since the last time they'd talked (had it really been that long). It wasn't much, mainly comments on fashion and sales at the mall, school projects and idle mention of a 'stupid ball' that her parents were trying to force her into going to.
Once his hair was standing up in various directions thanks to the spray she grabbed the gel, carefully working some of the glitter onto the tips of the spikes. "Hm. I think we might have just saved your hair. Let me get a mirror."

He chit-chatted back and forth, piping in with a comment here and there about how school had been and the future plans with Z to raid the arcade. There was an offhand comment in there about how poor Zac probably thought it'd be a quick trip but Demy could make twenty bucks last all day if he really wanted to. Poor poor Zac.
This ball thing didn't sound like much fun either.
"You think?"
He fidgeted as he waited for Cordy to dig out a mirror. It didn't take long before he had one in his hands and was checking out his hair. Hrmmm, standing in various directions? Check! Looking like styled bedhead? Check! Glitter on the tips? Check check and -check-. Demy grinned happily and checked out his hair for a few moments (god he -was- such a girl at times) before handing the mirror back.
"It's perfect! You totally saved it, thanks Cordy!"

"That should hold up for a while, at least until they let you out of bed long enough to get a real shower... Then you can give me a call and I'll come up here and do your hair again." She nodded, smiling brightly at the grin on her friend's face. "If you give me enough warning I can pick up some of the gel that has blue glitter in it."

He blinked a few times. Thinking....or........well something.
"BLUE glitter gel? Oh I'll give you all the warning you need if that's the result. You're awesome Cordy, thanks! ...Do you think Z will like it?"
The way he was grinning it was likely he'd be -very- upset if the answer was anything but 'yes'.

"I'm sure Zac will love it." She leaned over, brushing an almost motherly kiss against Demy's temple before drawing back. "I should leave so you can get some rest... I'll stop back though, ok? Promise." She nodded as she shifted so that she could tuck her things back into her bag before slipping it back onto her shoulder. "Just... Get some rest and take care of yourself."
