Aphismet chuckled; admittedly, a "friendly scorpion" was not a usual pet for anyone to have. "I don't know if he was REALLY friendly, but he seemed to enjoy my company. He'd huddle up against the glass when I was near-"
"Maybe he was just trying to sting you," Rivener interjected with a smug smirk, although his Guardian ignored this comment completely.
"-and he just seemed to be calm and nice. I could reach in and pet him a little sometimes too, although I wouldn't try my luck TOO much." But time was wearing on, and Aphismet wouldn't want to keep this lady from her errands too long... "How about you call us sometime, and come visit our home? There's quite a conglomeration of Raevan owners in my house, you know. My girlfriend, Alex, works for the lab and she's Zul's guardian... And then my younger brother Isikoro works there part-time too and he's Eiry's guardian."
"Eiry's a Sigel too," Rivener declared, sounding rather proud for some reason. "And Zul.... Zul's wonderful. You really should come, especially once yours is born. We'll help you take care of it! And oh, if you ever need babysitters, let me do it!" It's certainly not that he needed the money, but more time spent with his new pet project would be great! He'd get to watch a lot more of the young one's growth if he was around lots.
"Riven-"
Aphismet's baffled tone was cut off by a pointed glare, and the chef just lifted his hands and sighed, rolling his eyes. "As long as it's what miss Lacelle wants, if she says it's okay. And no hurting anyone!"
"Pfah, I only hurt people who deserve it," Riv sneered, brushing off his guardian's words and turning back an excited, expectant look towards Vivi. "So? Could I be the babysitter?"

"A scorpion who does not sting when he has the chance, that is indeed friendly for its kind!" Vivi mused with a quirked smile, her eyes bright as her gaze ticked from Rivener to Aphismet as they ping-ponged back and forth. The Sigel's smirks seemed to Vivi bulletproof, sharp as the rest of him, and contrasted so distinctly with his guardian's pleasantness and care. How very different they seemed, Vivi thought to herself, but how very close, as well. It may have hurt for Aphismet to have lost his beloved (albeit strange) pet, but to have gained Rivener instead... it gave Vivi a sense of hope, that all of her current dismay would indeed give way, and lead to something greater.
"Ah, how could I deny such a request? To have a strong Sigel take care of my own young Raevan would be quite a blessing, I am sure. Merci, merci~" the Frenchwoman said cheerily, dipping her hand into her purse another time, withdrawing a business card, and slim cherry-colored cell phone. Her words held no ring of false flattery, as the woman did indeed seem thrilled by the prospect -- she always loved meeting new people, but the invitation to meet other lab-folk and Raevans seemed almost too good to be true. Her own Raevan, when it was born, already had other Raevans to meet!
The acrylic cupcake charm on her phone tinkled prettily as she offered both objects to Aphismet, exchanging them for her fel essence. "I would be charmed to meet with you both again, and to meet your friends! How wonderful for you all to be so close together. If you give me your number, I will tell you as soon as I... procure a soul. And that is my business card, for my bakery in Gambino. I do not know if you like pastries, but if you find yourself there, and hungry, please do not hesitate to come by!"

The offered cellphone was quickly nabbed up by Rivener, the Sigel always happy to play with a new gadget even if it wasn't his own. The grin on his face was half smug, half elated; his request had been granted very willingly indeed, and now Riv was eager for his pet-project to be born so he could start documenting everything about it. It would be interesting! He wondered how much of an effect he himself could have one someone's growth... Had he already affected people?
Pondering to himself, Riv entered the Delaran's phone number into Vivette's phone, along with his own cell number just in case.
"You own a bakery in Gambino? Wow, that's wonderful! We'll definitely be by. Another of our friends own a Cafe by the beach there, perhaps you've met her: Natsuki? And her Raevan Sa'ida?... Well, at any rate, we'll be sure to meet up again. I'm a chef, myself, so perhaps we could have a dinner party sometime? You bring your best breads, I'll make the meal, and Alex will probably insist on making dessert for us... She makes the best apple crumble!" Aphismet's enthusiasm was clear as he spoke, taking the business card and looking it over before carefully slipping it into his wallet. "I've got no business card, but I work at the Crystal Carafe restaurant, atop the Durem Hotel. Feel free to drop by, too!"
"Here's your phone back." Rivener handed back the little cell, only to take out his own moments later and typing in the number to Vivi's phone; he'd taken note of it while he fiddled with the other phone. "I put the house's and my cell number separately. I'm not always home, so call my cell if you need me for babysitting and stuff. Okay?" The Raevan gave another winning smile, lifting himself up to full height so he'd seem strong and responsible.

"My, what an incredible meal that sounds like. It is a great pleasure, to dine with new friends! I will certainly look forward to it -- especially to eat something by a chef from the Crystal Carafe. I dined there once, not so long ago... ah~ what food~ " Vivi all but gushed, her hands making a fluttering motion over her heart as she recalled that particular dinner. It had been a year and some ago, when the circus had gone through Gaia... her mouth watered as she thought through her courses. She wondered if the white-haired chef had been employed there then. If so, she would be more than happy to take up his offer of dinner. A spark of excitement danced in her warm eyes. "And please do come by Vermillion-- I shall look up your friend, Natsuki, you said? I am not so far from the beach, so I am certain I will find her quite easily!"
Vivi turned her smile to Rivener as he returned her cell phone then, and she peered at it to make sure that all was saved correctly before storing it safely back in her purse. She looked up at him appreciatively. "You are too gracious. I shall keep you updated as to my soul capture, and I promise that you shall be among the first to know when the new Raevan is born. What fortune, n'est pas? Such an enchanting pleasure to meet the both of you."

Aphismet chuckled and nodded, blushing lightly at the praise towards the restaurant. He wasn't sure how long ago she'd went, and like her, Aphi wondered if he'd been working there at the time... No matter! He'd make sure he made the very best meal when Vivi came over. Alex would surely like visitors too, and Isi could use a bit more interaction with people. Perhaps someone as cheery as Vivi would rub off on the grumpy teen?
"I'll be sure to drop by Vermillion as you say, yes! It was a great pleasure to meet you as well, miss LaCelle. I hope we meet again soon!" Aphi bowed slightly, grinning from ear to ear. "I must go back to my shopping now, or we'll miss out on the best deals!"
"See ya around, Vivi," Rivener added with a smirk, trying to look as impressive as possible. The action usually involved a spreading of his wings, so the Sigel gave a wince as the broken limbs pushed against their bindings. So much for his impressive pose... He sighed, frustrated. "Be sure to tell me, yeah, about your Raevan. I want to know everything."
The Scorpion gave a final wave as he followed Aphismet back out into the crowd. He'd need to pay attention again, or he'd get bumped by everyone...

Vivi returned the scorpion's wave with a faint smile as the two receded back into the crowd. She hummed as the turned away herself, her eyes turning back toward those beautiful clumps of green watercress... ah, such a lovely day: fresh produce, new friends, and the promise of an eventual Raevan babysitter. Today, she thought to herself pleasantly, was already turning out to be quite productive.
Now, if only she could round it all out by catching a blasted soul...
