If Squall were dead then I would seriously hate the game. But all in all there are many ways to disprove this theory.
The wound may have a cutscene dedicated to it, it's healed when he awakes. We do not know if there is a scar. Squall is not seen without a shirt. He very well could have a nasty scar we don't know about. Just saying.

Wow...this shows you put so much effort in your response. You could have atleast said reasons to it not being possible. Just saying no, just makes it seem like you are only saying that because heaven forbid one of our main characters might possibly be dead. Or you really have no reasons to disprove it.

i normally try to stay out of these discussions. but there is a part of the rinoa squall relationship i havent seen brought up.
Remeber he rescued her from those 2 monsters durring the sorceress parade. And he says. Stay close to me. And she latches onto that. That is a big turning point for there relationship. She even emntions it again on ragnarok (sorry cut my finger o some things may be spelled wrong)
Theres nothing written anywhere that says the sorceress did or didnt kill him. Seifer belived that he knew what SeeD was. And for that reason questioning him.
As for the moobas. They explain that in the trip to the "dream World" Laguna ran into them. Zell doesnt mention them when he is ward as a janitor at the jail they are prisioners at. Because it isn't relavent to there escape yet.

So i don't belive in that theroy i think quall is just a little emo and when he starts feeling emotions and fear he just lets it eat at him. And not telling anyone or letting it show so he can try to keep his tough guy exterior infront of everyone.

I got this from Laguna's page on the Final Fantasy Wiki.
"Though it is never directly stated, it is heavily implied that Laguna is Squall's father. When Laguna left Winhill Raine was pregnant, and her baby and Ellone were taken to Edea's orphanage, which is where Squall grew up. As well, it is stated that Moombas can recognize people by licking their blood - Squall being Laguna's son would explain why the Moombas in the prison chant "Laguna" upon tasting his blood. Laguna also always shares Squall's stats during the flashback sequences, and carries Squall's Triple Triad card. Ward and Kiros seem to be aware of their relationship: if they are spoken to aboard the Ragnarok at the end of the game, Ward tells Squall he should be glad he does not resemble his father, and Kiros states he resembles his mother, indicating the two of them know Squall's parents."

Though it is from wiki, that info is awesome. Thanks for that. I do remember some of those parts. dolphinbear1 wait if squall died how did he get in kingdom hearts? Kingdom Hearts is a different story with familiar characters from both Disney and Square. 3nodding Which is why Aeris is alive there but Zack is not there since I think Crisis Core wasn't even conceptualized that time.

FFVIII was my fav for console I at first was confused by the dream theory but played it untill got an idea about it and think it was a clever idea and believe I have played other games that have tried to do something similar but didnt do well, I wonder haow many also enjoyed the card game in FFVIII ??

If he had died, then at the end, we would have seen a grave or something.
Also, the physics of each Final Fantasy world is different. With the exception of Sorceresses, the closest normal humans can get is pseudo-magic in 8. In FF4, you just have to learn to do it. In 7, all you need is a piece of materia, a freaking little crystal you can even stick in special slots in your weapon if you want to.
Plus, there is an element that Squall wouldn't have known about before the Ice Strike that he was only told about after. I don't think Squall caught onto Quistis's advances before Rinoa was in the picture, which she only admits in the 'Orphanage Scene'.
