SK Loda Riku I read your sig, and I finished beating Dante's Inferno yesterday. It's an X-Box game, and it has thouroughly changed my vision on the christian way of life/religion/etc. Really in a good way or a bad way?

I don't even know really. You're basically a crusader, and you get killed, but then you fight the grim reaper, and go to hell after you beat him, because lucifer kidnapped your girlfriend. SO you spent 99% of the game in hell, going through the 9 circles of hell. The whole religion, the way people get to those circles, just seems dark spooky and bad. Almost everybody in the world would end up going to hell at one point or another, because everybody in the entire world at one time in their lives, does something that falls into a category of sin. Even just locking yourself in a room without anything but whitewashed walls and a light, and doing nothing wrong would land you in hell, because it could fall under greed, because you are being greedy and keeping the opportunity to meet you from everybody else, and therefore, you go to hell. I don't follow a religion though, so I probably don't see it the same way you do.

Thus, you have an excellent point. Though, the 9 Gates of Hell do get worse as you go along, so I figure Gates 1 and 2 are the best to be, but it is still Hell...so you get screwed over pretty much every way possible. That's religion for ya! And I follow it, so I know what's stupid and what's not about it.

It constantly gives quotes from the inferno canto's whenever you die, and they are all bad stuff. And you learn a lot. For instance, if you give all your money to charity, but commit suicide, you can still end up in the circle of greed, for being selfish of your own death. It's ridiculous.

Ahh, but see here's where it gets complicated. Because, your personal hybrid mix between interpretations of beliefs, your beliefs, and the actual beliefs of the religion, differs from person to person. You may think it's okay to get take something from somebody if you need it more for instance, but that's breaking the religious views of the bible and it's rules on greed and need. If you think it's okay to lie to protect somebody's feelings, that's breaking another rule, and you end up in the 7th circle of hell, for fraud. It's much more complicated then just going to church on sundays and praying.

You really should be, to be honest. This stuff is shockingly true. If you ever read Dante's Inferno, much less played the game, you'd be extremely surprised at how they truly classify which goes under SIN and which doesn't.

I try not to debate topics that I'm not educated in. To a certain extent educated at least.

Once again, technically wrong. The religion is embodied by more then one book, and includes the inferno cantos, all of them, and other books as well. You can't believe in one book, and ignore major religious works included into the religion such as all of the inferno canto. Ask whoever at your church knows, be it a priest, or preacher, or what not, if they have read the inferno canto.
