For a moment, the lioness just sort of blinked at him, then her face softened and she smiled.
"I'm sure you're right. I just don't want to pull anyone down, you know? I don't want them to feel limited, because of me. I guess I'm going to have to find something in the middle... because you're right. Its been lonely."
She ducked her head in embarrassment, shuffling her paw again. "I'm like being your friend, Vtla. I have so few friends, you know. Its hard, being new and strange. If... if I ever need help, I'll be sure to ask for you." She glanced up at him, her head still lowered, and smiled shyly. She'd have to think about what he said. It was important, she was sure about that.

"Yes!" Vtla hummed in delight, "we'll be friends. We are friends. Don't worry, I promise you won't be the only one who may have to ask for help. Who knows? Maybe you'll end up helping me more." He wasn't sure about the whole thing either, really. He'd never had many friends when he had been a rogue. No family. No one to talk to. It was strange being able to be nice to someone and not have them try to rip his throat out in return.
It would take him a while to get used to it, too.
"Well, I should probably end up getting back to my clan now. I'm sure I'm not being missed yet, but there's still a nice den waiting for me. I think I could use a bit of a nap! I'll see you some time soon, alright?" He turned from her, pleased.

Hanaa finally laughed and straightened up, giving him a bright smile.
"Thank you again, Vtla!" She called out as he turned to go. "It really was nice to meet you, and I hope you come by again, maybe just to talk next time." Hanaa was still smiling when she turned away, bending to pick up her kill to drag it to the dens, hardly even noticing that it was still dirty. She had too much other things to think about now.
