"I was very lucky," he agreed, offering a rare genuine smile, "It might be mad but I know what I want and I'm not giving it up this time. And so long as I can trust you, you can trust me." And so far, Tabia was giving him nothing but reasons to trust her. It couldn't be easy to ramble like that about something completely untrue without revealing some hint of it.
Ahnik was quiet for another moment, though, considering what she said- particularly about finding more unsuspecting girls to take back with them.
"It would be good to find more lionesses to take back with us," he thought out loud, "And with your help it will be much easier. It'd be safer to get established first but.. I like a challenge, what do you think?" He grinned, looking to Tabia for her opinion. It was perhaps more logical to make sure you had a place to go and a pride to back you up if you kidnapped anybody but where was the fun in that?

She purred, lifting her head and ears and looking straight at him with a somewhat eager glint in her feline eyes. "You can trust me." She replied. "I cannot promise many things in this world, but I can promise you that."
She shook her fur and took a few steps forward, casting her gaze back at him over a shoulder. "A challenge? I never could turn down a challenge. I say we find some more girls so you can make an impact when you stroll into the lands with your harem."
She smiled, looking sly. "And, with me at your side, maybe it'll be easier to lure some females in." She paused. "But what should we do about Ka? I don't know her that well, but I'm pretty certain she'd be against it. Even still, we could put her to use. Appearing in greater numbers would enhance our success rate."

Ahnik puffed up a bit, feeling quite pleased- with himself and with Tabia. Her assurance that he could trust her was meaningful, he had no reason to doubt her and he would not until there was a reason to. She knew what she wanted, too. She wanted a pride and she appeared to accept the idea of sticking with him-- with the intention of making sure he was of fair status so she could be, to some extent. And ambition benefiting him was not something he would argue with.
"I agree," he said, glancing out around them when she mentioned Ka, "I haven't decided what to do about Ka yet. We need the numbers but it could be trouble."
Another pause.
"We won't tell her until we have to."

"A wise decision, I think. Else she could end up making trouble for us. She likes you, though, so use that as your advantage. For all her tough talk, she's quite innocent. Her loyalty in you won't waver until something gives it reason to - which it will, eventually, when she realises what we're up to."
She smiled.
"It is fortunate that we met, Ahnik." She turned towards him, blinking her violet eyes slowly. "I foresee a bright future ahead." She paused, tilting her head a little.
"And talking about Ka, we'd best get back or she'll wonder where we're off to." And she made to move past him, lifting her tail to brush it against his shoulder as she past.

He couldn't keep a grin off his face. This was working out wonderfully and any regret or worry he might have had about leaving his home was forgotten. This was the right thing, the best thing- and it would be perfect.
"You're right," he agreed with everything she said in one statement, standing up and glancing around- and then smirking at Tabia as she brushed by, "Let's go, then."
And he went to follow Tabia to go and find Ka. They would have plenty of time to plan, especially now that they agreed to try to find another girl to bring with them.
