Thaliawen Sammi couldn't resist giggling. She reached for Gavin with a smile. "No, huh? Is that all you can say?" She asked. "Can I hold him, Ms. Ind?" She had to watch herself now--she knew she was bound to use the nicknames she'd given the family so long ago. "Come on, Gavin. We still have some of Kaleb's toys." Thali smiled, and nodded. "Of course," she said. "Come into the kitchen, then. The tea's already been made." Reiya had somehow made the cloud so dense that it was tangible. She poked it to demonstrate the fact that Noah could touch it. "See? I couldn't do that before."

"No!" Gavin chortled, pleased with his vocabulary. He went willing into Sammi's arms as his mother let him go.
With a grin, Syrelia follows Thali. "Thanks for releasing me of my burdens, girls! They're all yours!" She was, of course, joking. With how close she had come to losing them recently, she never wanted them out of her sight, but here, she felt, they would be safe.
Noah latched onto the cloud, trying to chew on it. He was going through that phase, the one where everything looked delicious.

Samantha took Gavin into the livingroom, and kicked out a plastic bin of toys out from under the coffee table with her foot. "See, little brother just grew," she explained to the infant. "So we've got all sorts of toys for you to play with." She carefully sat Gavin down onto the floor, before sitting down next to him.
Thali took the teapot off the counter, glancing at Syrelia. "Now tell me," she started. "Tell me what's happened. You mentioned someone from your past, but you never said what happened precisely. Why have you been gone so long? Why hasn't anyone been able to contact you?"

Gavin was going to have a field day with all of those toys. Once set amongst them, the little boy went to town, grabbing what he could and making them zoom around completely with appropriate pbbbt noises.
Syrelia briefly wondered if it would be rude to take a seat on one of Thali's counters before deciding against it. It was a habit she was trying to break her eldest daughter of -- what kind of example would she be setting? Instead, she took a seat at the kitchen table, wondering where to start.
"So, like... maybe a hundred or so years ago, I met this guy. Cute, pretty cool. We went out. Turned out he was, well, a super possessive demon." Syrelia shrugged. Her taste in men was never very outstanding, especially evidenced in her twin boys and their absentee father. "s**t happens, you know? Although I guess he was a bit more obsessed than I thought and came to find me."
