"Just Alexandros and Hector, so far. More soon." Selene and Ares weren't the sort of people who minced words when they didn't have to. They had a solid working relationship: Selene liked to give orders and not have to micromanage them to completion, and Ares liked to be given orders and go out and get them done, saying no more on the subject till she had. The queen had no doubt that the woman she'd trusted for so many years as her master-at-arms would turn herself to their mission unflinchingly.
"No sign of the wizard or the fallen princess," Selene confirmed, adjusting her wristcuffs. "Not by our people. But there's a bit of mixed news -- Hades was right. They did come here. In fact, we've had word that the same wizard and princess stole a great crystal belonging to the princess of the White Zodiac Court. And we have to assume the fallen princess still has her own great crystal. The princess of the White Moon and the prince of the White Earth are still unaccounted for, apparently dead -- as is the Zodiac prince. No news of the White Starlight or Galactic Courts; no one's been able to contact them.
"The only great crystal we can say for sure is still safe is the Pyrite Crystal. Whatever they're planning on doing, let's just hope they don't have all that they need yet -- and keep the Pyrite Crystal safe.
"We're not on our own here, though -- there are soldiers, lots of soldiers. They have their own enemies, a second war going on -- or maybe they're all the same enemy, theirs and ours. Either way, we need their help and we owe them ours. Learn what you can. We will win." She wasn't actually so sure -- but either they'd win, or they'd die as close to victory as possible. Ares, of all people, would understand that.

A whisper of approval crossed her lips. The cavaliers were welcome, Hector especially. If she had it her way, Ares would track Hector down that night and demand some sparring. Separation had made her soft, she reasoned, and such an oversight was unacceptable. At the moment, there were more important things to attend to -- namely, the Queen.
The senshi of smoke stilled to hear of the fallen princess and her wizard. Or was it the wizard and his fallen princess? Either way, they would both die by her hands, if all went according to plans hatched in her dreams. Ares had many questions brimming on her lips, but the Queen's mention of a second war brought a flame of passion to her otherwise flat gray eyes.
War. Battle. Bloodshed. It happened in tiny degrees on the Black Moon -- if that. Here on this White Earth it was in full swing, was it? Ares had picked a wonderful time to come bursting through the mirror. "If there is a war, I will fight," she said, excitement bubbling in her throat. Belatedly, she added, "For the honor of our great court." And you.
Scooping up all of the belongings that the two had between them, Ares let her fuku dissolve off of her until she was back in Fallon's shoes, though not quite the same. "We will win," she echoed. "But first, you need to rest for that arm." It bothered her to see the Queen with any sort of injury. The sooner they got her home, the better.
Ares turned back toward the street and began the slow walk toward Cora's house. Only once the Queen was safely in bed would she return to Crystal and try to process the dual memories bouncing around in her head.
