It was the same Jada then. Who would have thought? "I wouldn't say I know her..." Acquaintances were more like it. They had interacted in similar social circles, coming across each other once or twice. Normally, these invitations were forwarded to his parents, whose presence was much more desired at this events. But they must've been busy, Seth spotting a looseleaf note that had accompanied it that had fallen onto the table.

He picked it up to unfold it, his eyes scanning it quickly. In his mother's lightly scripted handwriting, it read 'If you'd like to go, please go. From your mother, and father', and a check if Seth had planned on going and donating to the charity event.

"You're going then?" Judging from Eve's excitement, she must've been. Seth hadn't planning on going, all he could remember of the Chamberlyn's was a condescending woman as the host, and Jada. And even then, he couldn't recall much having only met her several times. But if he recalled correctly, it was Jada's mother, who Seth felt displayed her nouveau attitude down to an art. "Debutante balls don't concern me." That statement wasn't made out of dislike or hate, it was just that Seth no longer concerned himself with parties. They seemed to be the same tedious parties, where people rubbed elbows and tried to scheme people out of their money. He had no reason to go to those sorts of things anymore.

"It's for charity!" Eve exclaimed, eyes twinkling brightly up at him. "And okay, I admit that it's nice to attend an affair that requires you to wear pretty dresses, but that's a girl thing." And prom was just next month! She had already found a dress for that, though the ball was another event entirely. She couldn't very well wear the same dress to both, after all. In fact, if anyone did, she would be horrified; it was a serious fashion faux pas.

"You should go!" She urged, using the envelope to smack him lightly on the shoulder, attempting to convince him. "Maybe you might think it's boring, but if there's people you know that are going, it'll be fun! Come on, I'll be there too! I'm pretty sure I'm not a boring person." Eve was one of those people who took boring to be an insult to one's character. Yet, she seemed to gravitate towards the quiet people, for some odd reason, like Rea, Serenade, and now Seth. It was probably something like what they called opposites attract. One could only talk if the other listened, after all!

Seth took a seat on the couch, and probably didn't understand Eve's first line of reasoning - no matter how he looked at it, he still couldn't make sense of it. "..." Seth supposed that he should've seen this coming, considering how Eve was. Normally, he would have left it at 'No." and it would have stayed like that. But for some reason it was hard to resist Eve. She made it sound as if it wouldn't be another tedious party, where it was all smiles that were plastered on and formalities that lasted well throughout the night.

He looked away, the side of his face resting on his palm. Seth appeared to think it over for a few more minutes, it was unclear on whether he was convinced or not, his face showing no indication of either. At least until the eventful words (much to Eve's delight) "..Do you have an escort?"

PostPosted: Mon Apr 12, 2010 8:22 pm

His words did indeed bring that impish smile back upon her face and blond curls bounced as she shook her head. "I'm going alone. I mean, a few of my friends are going, but yeah. You get the point." She didn't think it wise to go on and say that Daddy wasn't going because he didn't have a good impression of Szelem Chamberlyn, not when Seth knew Jada, even if they were just acquaintances. That was just rude.

"You'll escort me then?" She said brightly, getting up and brushing imaginary specks of dust off her skirt. When this matter was closed, then it was time for shopping! She really should have changed out of her uniform, but if she had, she wouldn't have met him, would she?

It was a blessing in disguise!

If Eve had voiced her opinion, Seth would have probably agreed. The male wasn't very likely to care if something was rude, but Eve would learn that eventually. For now, she seemed to be happy with Seth's answer. "I would have never heard the end of it." And he probably wouldn't have, if he had pegged Eve correctly. But despite his words, there was somewhat of a warm smile on his face (That was probably the most he had mustered in a long time), and a friendly pet on the blond head.

"Now, lets get to shopping and bringing you home." He stood up, and motioned Eve outwards of the apartment. When she was safely out, he locked the door behind the both of them.

"A word of advice." He hovered over her, an easy task because of his height, resting his arm on the wall behind her.

"You shouldn't come into a guy's apartment that easily." Seth didn't know who Eve had met, but it was clear that she was more naive than she should be. It wasn't a bad thing, but it wasn't necessarily good in a world like this. Not all males were as nice as Seth, most of the male population coming to represent the dudes that had harassed Eve earlier. A knowing smile, and he turned around to leave as abruptly.

"You know me already." She told him with a laugh. He did remind her of Rea, which was partly comforting since the latter was avoiding her still, and partly aggravating, being reminded of that fact. Still, Eve plastered a smile on her face; she had managed to pester him to go and had also gotten an escort to the ball! Two birds with one stone, what luck!

"I can take care of myself." Eve assured him with a shrug. "I'm tougher than I look!" Note to self: It is not wise to go out in Crystal uniform. Ever. Again. Even if she could beat those guys up, it was better to be safe, and it was better not to; Crystal girls had a certain reputation they had to keep, and furthermore, it would be hard to explain why she was getting better at fighting. 'Oh, I've been having Saturday morning trainings so I can help beat up monsters in the city!' was not she wanted to say to anyone.

Well, Seth wasn't a concern, but if you had said that to just anybody, Eve would probably find herself sent to a psychiatrist that wouldn't take that so nicely. So it was probably best if she kept out of trouble.

A wry smile at her reaction, "That wasn't what I meant." Once Eve stopped thinking about senshi, fighting and youma, Eve would find a bottom line that was much simpler than that. A fine line that existed between boys and girls. Especially when you wandered into a male's apartment. But for now, Seth would leave that matter alone.

Seth progressed down the sidewalk, only pausing to tilt his head back and call out to Eve, "Weren't we going shopping? I'll leave you behind."

Eve had always had guy friends, so she had no qualms about stepping into a home where a guy lived. Hey, a few guys had been in her dorm room too, although Crystal security didn't know that. And Seth didn't need to know that either. Not when he seemed to regard her a bit as a daredevil for coming into his apartment so easily.

"You're more impatient than I am!" She called out after him with a grin and ran after his retreating back, falling into step besides him.

About a 15-20 minute walk, and they had once again reached the shopping area, no less crowded than earlier. If anything, it was even more crowded due to it being the time, nearing dusk and it's weather for was perfect for going out. The cool temperature (but not enough to be cold) accompanied dusk, a transition between the cold winter and hot summer.
Seth found the occasional breeze refreshing, feeling relaxed. It had been a while since he had gone out, especially for such a leisurely task.

After Eve had guided (or dragged was the more accurate term) Seth to the place that Jada and her had frequented before, Seth found himself surrounded by delicate glass figurines. He probably would have never thought to enter, not interested in places like these. But as long as it served it's purpose, he supposed that the place didn't really matter?

There, they would find a small shelve called "Fairy Tale Ornaments", lined up with castles, slippers, toads, and other delicate but exquisite pieces. After much deliberation, and conferring with Eve, they had finally decided on a piece called Crystal Castle on a Hill with it's rainbow hue that seemed to change colors according to where the light shone through. The price tag was a little nifty at $950.00, but it didn't look that Seth had concerned himself with price.

"Did you find anything that you liked?" Seth asked Eve, after they had gotten a salesperson to retrieve their desired piece from the back. They would package it here and gift wrap it for you, so Seth had nothing else to do until he had to pay.

Even though it wasn't her first time being here in this shop, Eve could not help but let a fascinated smile spread on her face as they entered, eyes darting from one precious figurine to the next. They weren't here for her though (Father would probably breathe a sigh of relief), though the Fairy Tale Ornament shelf held quite stunning pieces; it took a while for them to choose.

"And if I said I did?" She asked him teasingly, then shook her head; he was probably one of those people who would take her seriously. "Consider the favor returned! I owe you nothing except a date now!" It was a reminder that he better not forget about accompanying her to the debutante ball.

Seth was leaning against the counter, nodding to the reminder, "I won't." Seth didn't make much promises, but when he promised something, he was dependable. "The 17th, right?"

And the salesperson came up from behind him, Seth passed them his credit card. A few clicks on the cashier, and a printed receipt for the older male to sign, scrawling his signature fairly quickly. In exchange, the cashier handed a white bag bag with their logo in gold foil on the cover of the bag. Inside, the gift box was wrapped in pretty paper, and a blank gift tag for Seth to fill out.

"Thanks." Seth approached the door, and held it open for Eve. "Shall we get you home now?"

"Mmhmm!" She bobbed her head in confirmation.

"Back to Crystal, you mean." Eve said, confirming his previous wonder on whether she lived in the dorms or resided at home. Despite what she had said about hating being alone, living in a dorm room were currently a bit of a downer for her since her roommate wasn't really around these days. At least she could always roam the hallway and visit other rooms to see if any of her friends were free enough to keep her company. That was definitely a plus.

Although Seth hadn't attended Crystal (..There was the fact that he was a guy, and so thus, had no reason to go there), the private school for rich and privileged girls was well-known. They headed in the direction where Crystal was located.

"How's your roommate?" She dormed at Crystal, so she must have one. Seth had one previously, when he lived on campus. He didn't really like the thought of living with someone in such close proximity. But now he commuted, it was probably a better (and safer) option for everyone involved. He had the pleasure of living alone, and not being bothered by RAs, boyish antics, drunk parties next door, and idiots.

A passing couple sidestepped them, the two of them passing by more and more crystal uniformed female as they progressed closer to the vicinity of the school.

"Um..." Eve's smile faltered a bit at the mention of her roommate. This was another situation when it was hard to explain things because of secrecy and what not. "We got into a bit of a disagreement." She confided wryly, suppressing a sigh at the thought. It wasn't totally honest; she hadn't even done anything wrong! It was just Rea being sensitive and upset and all, and not wanting to listen to an explanation. "It's okay though; she can't stop avoiding me forever!"

Though Rea had been successful these few days, which made her rather aggrieved at the thought. She couldn't give up! She was still part of the Dream Team!

The male didn't press for details on the issue, which was probably a good thing for Eve. "You'll do fine." With the way Eve was, she would get through it. If anything she was persistent, and that trait coupled with her happiness? A combination, indeed.

And with that short reassurance finished, they had reached the gates of Crystal Academy. This would be the where they parted from each other. Seth, being the way he was, wasn't going to say something like 'Bye!' or 'See you later!'

Instead, there was a quiet "Thanks for your help."

"I'll see you on the 17th then."
